Let's discuss. What are some characters in the Warriors series that you think are well-written?
To be clear, by "well-written" I do not necessarily mean characters you like. I'm speaking of whether a cat's characterization is technically written well. E.g., consistent motivations, multi-layered emotional complexity, organic development, etc. I'm not personally a fan of Onestar's characterization in PO3-onward, but I nonetheless admit that his development as a cowardly people-pleaser was well written.
So what are characters that you think are well-written, and why? Are there any well-written characters you dislike? Are there side characters that should get more credit for their writings?
Feel free to discuss/debate, but let's keep it polite.

Cinderpelt.
She struggled with so much, and although she accepted her new path in life, her feelings for Firestar and wanting to become a warrior never truly faded. She suffered self-doubt at times if she thought she wasn't good enough, yet she also had Yellowfang's toughness as well as her own quiet strength that made her move on.
I like how she tells Brackenpaw in FoS that his leg will heal in no time without being bitter because her own leg wouldn't heal as well. I know if I were in her paws, I'd be jealous and resentful. Additionally, she had the courage to withhold the truth of her own death just because she wanted Leafpool to make her own choice.
I could go on, but I don't think I'm supposed to write an essay on this lol.

Crookedstar. He was really well-written, I don't think any explanation is needed.
Jayfeather too. Absolutely despise him but his character was pretty well-written, with him just consistently being an ass to everyone around him.
Hollyleaf too, her downwards spiral was perfect.

Crowfeather’s character has been handled really well. And is evolution from a self-isolating, prickly emo boy into what he’s become now is well-written and handled consistently imo. He’s still prickly, but he’s not shunning and closing himself off from everyone anymore, and it’s pretty heartwarming to witness.

Shrewtooth going from a timid warrior suffering from PTSD (or something like that) to a more confident senior warrior and being the one to track down Sol out of respect for Leafstar and his Clan was nice. He's a minor character for sure, but I liked seeing that change.
Dustpelt and Longtail going from bullies and Tigerclaw's lackies to having a begrudging respect for Firestar felt actually pretty realistic. Dustpelt in particular was never friends with Firestar and would argue with him, but he still obviously respected him as a leader and would never be outright insubordinate.
Ashfur's descent from an arrogant but well-meaning warrior to his dark angel status was really great, and I feel you can actually pinpoint where in his life that led him to become what he did.
