Welcome! Nice to meet you, darling~~ This here is a clan planning page mostly for my own reference- here I will be storing all information regarding Lagoonclan and its creation. You are welcome to help out and offer ideas and suggestions! Thank you very much for your time.☁ - Lagoonclan ☁ - Ranks & rank names [ regular ] ☁ - Rules [ regular ] ☁ - Land territory ☁ - Hillside of grass, trees, and foliage where the clan lives. A rocky side leads down to a cat-length wide beach and then to the ocean waters beyond. There is a small wharf town about 4-5 days of a journey in the distance following the curve of the ocean edge.
☁ - Style [ semi-literate, advanced ] ☁ - Plot? ☁ - Yep, we got some mercats lurkin'. Although the clan itself is entirely regular in every sense, there is a clutch of mermaid-like felines who dwell beneath the waters of the ocean. There are two groups: one are brightly-colored and fish-scaled with tails and fins attached to a feline body- relatively benevolent but aloof and condescending about all land creatures, their goal is to cleanse the water of pollution. The other group is thick-skinned, deep-dwelling more alike to sharks and seals with their fins and tails with bodies half sea creature, half cat- relatively dangerous and deceptive, they come to the surface only to lure and eat land creatures, and use the colorful plumes of fins on their elbows to trick others into believing they are mermaids.
☁ - mORE PLOT
☁ - Cats have begun to go missing and the clan has no idea where they've gone! Although large scales have been seen on the rocks, they merely look like fish scales, and the clan assumes there is a pod of carnivorous fish dragging away clan members. However, when two cats from outside the clan show up and relay some disturbing news, all becomes not as it once was...

☁ - Forum rules are to be followed and respected.
☁ - Respect - it's simple and expected in every clan, and this is no different. Please be sure to show respect to the members of this clan- we're all here to have a good time! A further extension of this rule is for those who are not part of this clan as well: please no spamming, flaming, bashing, raiding, stealing (neither cats nor clan ideas), and kit-___ of any kind.
☁ - Activity - this is also another rule that is expected in every clan, but it stands to still be reiterated again. If you are part of Lagoonclan you are expected to be active here at least three times a week. If you are an admin, mod, trusted member, or someone who is pivotal in a plot or rank, you are expected to be here posting at least five times a week. You will be rewarded with spots in plots and special rank privileges and the like if you are an active member of the clan!
☁ - Literacy - I'm being relatively lax with this one unlike how I am in my usual clans. Every member must have proper spelling and grammar and, of course, one-liners are never allowed. I expect everyone to, when they are roleplaying, have at least 5 sentences. Something good to do is to look at how other members are roleplaying- it's common courtesy to try to match the level of sentences and grammar those around you are doing! I don't expect paragraphs upon paragraphs of writing, but five sentences is the absolute minimum.
☁ - Characters - although this is a semi-realistic clan in the sense of the plot, all regular cats are regular cats! I am relatively lax with this rule but please, we all understand the basics: do not have cats with unnatural pelt colors or eye colors. There will be no god-modding, power playing, mary-sues or gary-sues! Every character must have multiple flaws as will be seen on the joining form. As for a cat's history they are allowed to have a family lineage from far away, but all cats in Lagoonclan are clan-born. LGBTQ+ is allowed, simply specify that in your character's form.
☁ - Drama is encouraged- cats are going missing! No one can find them, are they dead or alive? Cats are in a panic! They've never been in danger like this before aside from the obvious. However, if you are planning on having drama happen, you absolutely must tell me and get approved by me first. No large-scale plots are permitted at this time, but smaller plots are allowed and encouraged if you are approved. Take care you do not power play, god-mod, or spotlight!
☁ - Complaints - this is a really good rule I found on another role play's ruleboard: (credit to WW) we are not a therapist's office. Everyone has hard things in life and it is entirely fine to discuss them here but please know that you cannot be coming online and doing nothing but complaining every single time. I'll tell you now that I am very sorry for what is happening in your life and I hope it gets better- but please do a courtesy to other members and keep possibly triggering or otherwise large issues to low.

☁ - The Hillside - The area that keeps the camp safe, this hill is expansive but not too steep and although relatively plain it has foliage and trees growing out from it that thicken at the bottom. It provides a perfect lookout spot for the cats who can climb atop the low-growing trees and peek out to see the ocean and the two-leg wharf town in the distance.
☁ - Mineral Drip Cave - Following the edge of the ocean in the opposite direction going to the wharf town there is a small opening in the rocky beach up against the hillside. Although a small crack, it opens into a massive cave with thousands of fluorescent minerals and stones dripping from the walls and ceiling. In the middle of the cave is a pool of very clear, equally fluorescent water that the largest of the minerals- a purple-blue stone spotted with red and yellow- almost touches. Here is where the cats of Lagoonclan go to speak with the ancestors and for leaders and medicine cats to receive visions.
☁ - Foliage Way - The ridge that the camp sits on, this expanse of thick foliage is what continues down the hillside towards the beach. Although the ocean can be heard in the distance, it is impossible to see the beach from the camp itself as there are far too many trees and foliage in the way. However, the ridge overlooks the entire ocean and the wharf beyond- simply not the beach. The camp itself sits on a ridge here before the hillside begins again and continues down.
☁ - Rocky Beach - The beach itself is very rocky and covered in large, wave-cut shelves and various boulders, pebbles, and sharp jagged rocks. The territory evens out here and becomes less of a hill, sloping down to a sandy area that is about as wide as the length of a cat before the ocean touches land. All sorts of interesting things wash up here and its a favorite pastime for cats to come down and collect things for their loved ones- there is even a tall outcropping that mates like to watch the sunrise and sunset on.
► C A M P☁ - An odd little inlet indeed, it is believed to have been made when the ocean water had been much higher many years ago, creating an impression in the hill that is both exposed and covered in cave. Camp is a large dip in the junction between the Hillside and Foliage way, balanced on the ridge and overlooking the trees and ocean. It is sheltered from any elements by the trees that stand on the ridge, although the view is never obstructed and one can always see the ocean fade off into the distance. It is in a horseshoe shape going into the earth and not easy to find for any unwanted characters. The fresh-kill pile is in the middle of this shape, with various boulders, shrubbery, and water-made crevices create the dens. Looking into the horseshoe and starting from the left, the dens are found in this order: warriors, medicine cat, nursery, leader, elders, apprentices. The warrior's den is a pile of rubble and water-cut rocks that have piled together with a supported crevices at the bottom, leading to a large den that dips into the floor and gives a lot of room. The medicine cat's den is found beyond this one and further into the horseshoe, cutting into the wall of camp itself and finding place inside a some water-cut shelving and inlet to create a tall cavern with multiple inside shelving and space to hold herbs and patients. Outside of the den trickles a spring of fresh water that can be used for many purposes, and there are always shells sitting on the rocks around the pool for easy carrying. The nursery falls almost in the middle of the horseshoe at the very back, overshadowed by the rocky outcrop that is the leader's area and den. It is a twist of low-grown, oddly-shaped shrubbery with thick branches and reinforced by natural rocks and briars. The leader's den is found halfway up a staircase of wave-cut shelving stones and is a crack into the side of the wall. The shelves continue higher up to the top of the horseshoe impression as a sharp-edged rocky outcrop that looks over the clan and the ocean below- a thick-branched, twisted, low-grown shrub grows up top here. The elder's den begins to rebound back to the front of the horseshoe, halfway between the leader's den and the apprentice's den as a reinforced dip in the floor covered by a thick shrub. The last den, the apprentice's den is very similar to the warrior's den facing it on the other side of the horseshoe, also a pile of rubble and likewise that opens into a cave-like area.

Recently, the peaceful and uneventful lives of the Lagoonclan cats has been wracked by a plume of misfortune. Cats have gone missing- old and young alike, disappearing without a single trace. It is mostly only cats who go out alone down to the ocean water at the bottom of the cliffside, out of view and hearing range. However, recently a patrol of a warrior and two apprentices has disappeared as well, leaving no cat safe it would seem. Although investigations have been held, nothing out of the ordinary is ever seen down by the rocks or in the expanse of ocean itself. It would seem to be an entire mystery but Sharkstar seems uneasy and more aloof than usual, perhaps leading some to think he is hiding something alongside his mate Sparrowchirp, both having come from outside the clan many moons ago. What is the clan to do? Does your cat have any ideas? Perhaps... they might even have the chance to meet the fates some of the clan have faced... and survive.
