I'm just gonna pull stuff from my favorite she-cats thread and make this easier on myself:
1. Mothwing - Because she's best girl. I wouldn't even consider myself athiest but I still love her character because she trusts her judgement and puts the ones she cares about before anything else. 2. Ivypool - She's had her bad moments but I still love her. 3. Feathertail - She wouldn't be on this list if it weren't for her manga. I did like her in TNP but let's be real, she wasn't much of a character. Her development in ASiR was top notch though. 4. Yellowfang (Arc 1) - She's just amazing. I think we all loved her in TPB. 5. Shadowstar - I adored her friendship with Gray Wing. She's very intelligent and level headed and I think it's cool she was actually never interested in having a mate or kits, not that there is anything wrong with that, we just need more female characters who live a childless lifestyle. Favorite OG Clan leader btw. 6. Bristlefrost - Because she's just awesome. 7. Sasha - I actually like her even if she wasn't a perfect mother. I think it's great that she's flawed and her life is interesting. Also, she gave us Mothwing. 8. Mapleshade - She's a good villain okay. I like that her motivation for doing what she did wasn't shallow even if what she did wasn't justified. 9. Needletail - What can I say, I love a little rebel. I wonder what she'd think about all the shit her mom's spewing these days. 10. Briarlight - Potentially the only "perfect" character I like in this series. She's just that charming, and her dynamic with Jayfeather is everything.
Here's some toms I adore:
Rootspring - Because he's relatable to me in all ways except I don't have the guts to profess my love to someone. Crowfeather - I think Crowfeather is a fantastically developed character. He's not a bad boy with a heart of gold in my eyes, he's a sad prickly kid who becomes a broken adult who can't deal with setbacks in life and It's fun to watch him overcome those. Graystripe - Was he a disloyal brat? Yes. Do I still think he's amazing anyways? Absolutely. For all his flaws he's a fairly good mate and father and for the most part a good friend. I also really loved his super edition and his relationships with Gremlin & Fang. Jayfeather - The icon himself. He's super fun to read about and is the only thing that made PO3 worthwhile. Mudclaw - My problematic fave. No I don't think he would have made a good leader but his plotline was really interesting and added a little spice to the second half of TNP. His manga was good too. Tallstar - Ignoring what he did right before he died, Tallstar is an icon and his super edition was better than literally everybody else's. Gray Wing - THEE BEST BOY of Warriors. If I was a cat, I'd want him to raise me. Riverstar - I can't wait for his super edition. Goosefeather - He's interesting and terribly pitiable.

1. Gray Wing - he deserves this place, I love everything about him. 2. Jayfeather - honestly, do I even have to explain? he is quite popular, so I think people get why he is so far up. 3. Tallstar - Ever since I read his super edition, he has been a favorite of mine. I think his story was very interesting and I enjoyed reading about him. 4. Violetshine - I heavily relate to her and she's just awesome. 5. Tall Shadow - Ultimate girlboss, I was rooting for her in every single DOTC book. 6. Star Flower - I can't really explain WHY I love her so much, I only know that I do and I will probably never stop. I'm a proud Star Flower defender. 7. Clear Sky - I have never enjoyed a character quite as much as I have enjoyed him. He was an incredible antagonist, and I found myself being sympathetic to him in the second half of the series. 8. Ravenpaw - I have always had a soft spot for him, and I was very upset at his death. The reason he is this high up might just be nostalgia, but he does deserve it. 9. Lionblaze - Honestly, I never really loved him that much, but after re-reading, I quite enjoyed his character arc in POT, and he is only becoming more and more interesting. 10. Feathertail - She has become a really big favorite of mine after her graphic novel, and I don't think anyone will disagree.

My Top Ten Favorite Characters: 1. Firestar This will never change. I have always loved reading about him and he is even someone I'm considering a comfort character of mine across fandoms. Not sure if it's "allowed" to have a favorite character also be a comfort one but even if not, don't care. His death hit me really hard back then as well. 2. Tigerstar (the first) My parents and family love to joke about how much I love (to hate) villains (mostly classic ones) and it's no exception with this big bad of the battle cat series. He did such a great job as the horrible cat he is and I'll never care that he was rather a walking cliche in terms of villainy. This guy is the OG. 3. Cinderpelt Loved her the second she was majorly introduced via her apprentice ceremony and have not stopped since then. She was so enjoyable to read about and her outspoken attitude always inspired me. Her friendship with Firestar was and still is a comfort for me to read about. 4. Goldenflower Adore her to pieces, I just do. The way in which she got a bigger role to play in the second half of TPB was just great to read about for me and I'm stanning her protective attitude towards her kits while standing up for them. She especially shines during her interactions with Firestar for me in this regard. 5. Brightheart She's simply amazing. Her story of surviving such a traumatic experience as the dog attack and finding her place in the Clan afterwards with the help of Cloudtail is just such a heartwarming arc for me to read about each time I'm re-reading the first arc. Beyond excited for her GN this year (it's already 2023 for me lol). 6. Cloudtail I love him. He was so full of (annoying) personality as a kit/apprentice and hasn't changed since then. His relationship with his uncle Firestar as well as his romance with Brightheart are still some of my favorite dynamics. 7. Feathertail "Just" liked her back during TNP and such but then started properly loving her after reading her awesome GN. Would also consider her a comfort character of mine at this point. 8. Leafstar Hands (or paws) down the best current leader at the lake teritories. I liked her during her first introduction in FQ, liked her SE and GN after that, and then found a stronger appreciation for her in HJ and the newer arcs. She is just so done with everyone's bs and I'll forever be here for it. 9. Echosong Stanning her aesthetic and overall vibe. Her telling Leafstar to not have a mate/kits was definitely her worst moment but I still cannot help but like her. She also got killed off too soon and still had potential, in my opinion. 10. Hawkwing Cannot stop cheering for this dude. Which is surprising for me since I'm overall considering myself a person who has a lot of love for the more nostalgic/older characters of this series. But this guy is just so much fun for me to read about and his SE is a true emotional rollercoaster. Hope he really does become leader.
