I like this MAP, surprisingly. I think the animators did a great job, but I also like the hosts main point of the map and what they were going for: This is the part of Dovewing's character that I genuinely did like, and wish was explored more properly in the canon books, but wasn't. And over time I grew disapointed with her, and disliked her character, especially after she became a warrior. But I think this is the third Dovewing video I genuinely enjoyed on her, the other two being Rolling Thunder and Drift Away, which I also recommend.

It’s a very eloquent and poignant MAP, and probably one of the few Dovewing-centric ones I’ve enjoyed. And I’m in agreement with the host, Dovewing is conceptually a fascinating character with loads of untapped potential, that unfortunately quite literally got choked by insufferable romance drama necessitated by the series prerequisite of one the protagonists being involved in a cross-clan relationship. And upon my recent re-read of OoTS for the first time since it’s release cycle, I actually found myself not feeling such vehement disdain for her character like I did all those years ago, and have gained some appreciation for her character in that arc, and how her story was concluded in her novella(which is my favorite to this day).
And still for the life of me can’t understand why they unknitted Vicky’s perfectly wrapped conclusion to her story by shoving her back together with Tigerheart. After Dovewing brought up the proposition of Tigerheart moving to Thunderclan and having kits. Followed by him treating her aspirations for their relationship as superfluous and rather unimportant. Should have signaled to her that they had completely different expectations and desires from their relationship. But I digress. Anyways, while I’ve gained some admiration for her in OoTS. Post Dovewing’s Silence Dovewing and Tigerheart respectively both remain on top of the garbage heap, for me at least.
Great M.A.P., and what a bittersweet reminder of the potential wasted on her character.
