Traditions:

Trials: The clan hosts trials to test the cats skills. It is done 2-4 times in a cat’s life.

Warriors

-First Trial: The first time is when they first become an apprentice, where the newly made apprentice and their mentor leave camp and go out to one of the farthest corners of the territory, and it’s up to the apprentice to navigate them back. If they fail they are to wait a week before getting to try it again.

-Second Trial: The second time is when the apprentice is proving they are ready to be a warrior, where they must beat their mentor in a fight and then catch a specific piece of prey, usually one of the rarer varieties depending on the season. If they complete only one of the two, they just have to work on the one they failed at, and can try again in a week. If they fail completely they most wait a whole moon to try again.

-Third Trial: The third is when a new deputy is being appointed, where the chosen cat most take over the clan for a whole day with the leader leaving for the whole day, to prove they have what it takes to be able to handle the responsibilities of a deputy, if they fail a new cat is chosen, this is decided by the whole of the clan as they inform the leader how they did. If they succeed they are named the new deputy of the clan.

-Fourth

Medicine Cats

-First Trial: Same as the first warriors trial.

-Second Trial-To prove they are ready to become a full medicine cat, they are to be quizzed by their mentor on all of the different herbs. Then they most go out and collect 4 herbs of their mentor’s choosing within a spawn of time given to them by their mentor.

-Third Trial(rare): If the Sage should die, the oldest Medicine Cat can prove they can take on the role, in which they most communicate with the sea serpent and bring back one of their scales. Should they return without a scale or fail to commune with the serpent, the next in line can try.



New Kits: When a new set of kit(s) is born. The medicine cat, often the most experienced of them if there's more than one, and marks the heads using a paste made of berries and flowers, to grant the kit(s) good health and luck in their lives.



Solstice: Every Solstice the clan has a feast that is full of freshkill and berries, among other foods the clan enjoys. The celebration lasts all day, and takes a week of prep work, often a tiring time for the warriors and their apprentices.

Sage Responsibilities

The highest rank a medicine cat can achieve in their life, and few ever do, with there only ever being one allowed at a time. They are often in charge of communing with the sea serpent, and holding the sacrifices for it to ensure it is done respectfully. They often are helping the leader the most of the medicine cats when it comes to reading the signs from Starclan. If there is no deputy when the leader dies, the sage takes over as leader. They often wear the scale somewhere on their body.

thanks! i found a cool site for map creating and decided to mess around with it, and then i'm like, this would be cool to do

i have a few above, im not sure if im going for a main story ibe or plots for everyone to be involved in, while i think i might go for a short plot just to start the clan off, doing one of the three i already created, just to get everyone into the clan and get their characters and relationships/friendships/families situated before going into a further larger story, which i feel i could use plot 3 for with everything going on there, would make for a larger story compared to the other two

alright! i'll go plot 1 to open up, and yea Shrewshine is probably not well liked, hes a grumpy boy, and he always just leaves randomly without saying anything so wouldnt blame if cats hated/disliked him
