We all remember picking up are first Warriors book (cough-read Shattered Sky first- cough cough), that highlighter orange feline and his blue tattered collar catching our attention better than any of our math textbooks' old jokes about algebra could. And before our 11-year-old brains could comprehend what we had gotten ourselves into, it's now been 5-something years and now it's an obsession.
Any Warriors fan, from a week-old fan to someone who was been following the books since the first was published knows about *drum roll* FIRE FREAKIN STAR. And to some he is a hero and a childhood go-to for nostalgia, a gary sue, or just a goood warrior and leader.
But this is not about what anybody else thinks, this is about what I think and what I see in our beloved Firestar. And who knows you might even get some head canons.
In Into the Wild (which I've only read once, maybe twice 2-4 years back so my memories are a little foggy. I often wondered, besides his curiosity and adventures nature, why he would leave his housefolk. After all, they did probably raise him from when he was a kitten, and why did he so easily give up his friendships with Smudge, Princess (he later stayed in contact with her), and any other friends he might of had? Were his housefolk not as kind to him as they should've been, did they get tired of his natural instinct of pooping and refused to scoop the dreaded litter. My question is: Did something else drive rest away from his housefolk, and is it darker than we ever imagined. Probably not, the humans probably forgot to scoop the litterbox and their little wild kitty didn't enjoy the smell.
Also a little rant, *breathes deep breath* I very kindly will say, I despise the SpottedxFire ship. Like even when I was cringy 9-year-old that was fine with a long-dead DF warrior (not mine, stare hardens at Candlekit) padding after a young tom leader (Bloodstar was mine, very OG I know), I still great disliked SpottedxFire and thought it was a little weird. I was that one person that would take CinderxFire and SpottedxFire artwork and edit it on paint 3d to make Firestar look terribly awkward with the two she-cats. (I now find CinderxFire super cute and imagine it was a childhood crush that faded with time). I'm just that average Warriors fan that says Firestar is clingy and stupid for naming heckin' Leafkit (I know she was also named after Leafstar) after her when he knew his wife was stilling thinking he was in love with a ghost (and I think he was). And Spottedleaf just is clingy and a stalker.
I think he'd be a good grandparent though...maybe.
That's all for now, I didn't even get close to talking about what I think about Fireboi 'cause I was...ranting. He is mainly a neutral character for me and nothing stood out. So just comment to see if you would like to see a part 2 for Firestar.
Also little treat for you users that have made it this far, I have a major AU that Yellowfang is Firestar's mother and she took him to the kittypet place after she recieved a sign that her sons would have to fight over the star title. Luckily, she prevented that, but it didn't go the way she planned
