Yup, it's this topic again. Because why not? Personally, I think she's fine. Blossomfall deserved to be scolded for doing the wrong thing, and it's been shown multiple times that Millie was there for her kits. She loves them all, it's just that she's so worried about Briarlight because of her injury. Rereading OotS, I don't think Millie is all that bad. Blossomfall is not neglected. Millie is clearly shown to be traumatized by her daughter's situation, but it's never shown in the books that she deliberately neglects Blossomfall and Bumblestripe. I am neutral on Millie myself, but I think it's unfair that she's so widely hated for yelling at Blossomfall one time when she clearly deserved it.

I have more of a problem with how Millie treated Briarlight than Blossomfall tbh. So my stance on her as a character is neutral/dislike and while she was shown to be a good mother to the three Bs when they were kits/apprentices, after they became warriors/Briarlight's accident, she's just been...not good anymore imo.

Somewhere in the middle. She could have been better but I think she also could have been much much worse. I can't really label her as good or bad.

I take issue with how she handled Briarlight's injury. She managed to alienate Briarlight and Blossomfall while also being ableist. She made an already difficult situation more difficult for everyone.

She was a kittypet so she did not know how to act properly and was really scared this. people really brush over this when it comes to millie. yes, she knew the risks of joining graystripe and going to thunderclan with him, but does that truly prepare her for the horrors of the wild? not really. she accepted there were risks, but when those horrible things happen, u dont know how u'll actually handle it, especially for someone like her who used to have a sheltered life up until then. |

I think Millie was a good mother, yes maybe she was a little too fussy over Briarlight, but she was worried about her, like any good mother would be. And I dont think she was showing favoritism towards Briarlight over her siblings either.

While I don't think Millie is a bad mother towards Blossomfall, she is definitely one towards Briarlight. She was full on ableist and made Briarlight go through some extremely dark periods of time in which she felt like she would be better off dead because of how useless she was.

I never saw her as that bad and I always thought Blossomfall was just being dramatic, especially with Bumblestripe having no such mommy issues or envy of Briarlight.
After watching Moonkitti's Briarlight video though, I realize that the way Millie treated Briarlight was horrible. Sad thing is, Millie isn't the only one who thinks this way as Sandstrorm would rather have Squirrelflight dead than have a permanent disability like Briarlight's.
