I feel like more cats should perma die it makes the deaths more sad. Ya the cats die but they basically get a better life in starclan so it's really not that sad. Bristlefrosts death is the saddest because of the perma death also she is my favorite character

Perma-deaths were technically established back in The Last Hope. We don’t have Spottedleaf, Hawkfrost, Brokenstar, etc. running around for a reason. I do remember it being more annoying and a majority of cats in StarClan will be perma-dead anyway, eventually. Bristlefrost’s death was rather extreme circumstances due to the dark water and is likely to not occur again. Unless another big plot is placed just to have characters perma-die for some reason. Plus StarClan was especially useful back in the first series since after all that time we got to finally meet Redtail and other cats that had died throughout the series in Firestar’s leader ceremony.

Permanent deaths (or double deaths as I like to call them) have occured before. Although it seems to be usually reserved for villainous spirits so far (Tigerstar, Hawkfrost, Brokenstar, Darkstripe, Shredtail and so on), with the exception of Spottedleaf and Bristlefrost, of course. With the latter, it was especially shocking though considering that she was not even a ghost at the time of her death with no return. Then again, there were also two Dark Forest spirits who wanted to redeem themselves or at least help the heroes of the story in TBC but also perished in the process (Snowtuft and Redwillow).
Whenever I'll finally get around to doing my rewrite of the series, I'm actually planning to kill Firestar off somewhere in the third arc and then have him permanently die together with Tigerstar during their battle in the fourth arc. It would just make his sacrifice to save the Clans from his nemesis there all the more heroic and turn him into even more of a legendary leader, in my opinion, due to him then no longer being present in the series, not even in StarClan spirit form.
