What are some of your underrated, background cats in the story, and what are some of your headcanons about them
Some of mine:
Sneezecloud: since he's allergic to moss, he was only able to sleep in a nest of ferns and bracken
Flintfang: After Badgerfang's death, he became obsessed with finding the killer and getting revenge, unfortunately he died before he could
Poppycloud: because of her ideas and social skills, she was very popular in the clans

eaglewing is terrified of big birds, specifically owls, because her mentor ambermoon was carried off by one. because of this headcanon, i also headcanon that eaglewing is stoic, a bit on-edge, and overly cautious.

Icewing isn't clanborn and joined the clan after falling in love with Mintfur sometime between TNP and POT. She used to disagree with a lot of clan law and Mistystar in general, leading to her joining the Dark Forest and the rebels. She also spilled all everything she knew about the Dark Forest just before the Great Battle started which was the primary reason why Mistystar let her stay in RiverClan after. Her relationship with Mintfur is kinda strained right now in the wake of her ShadowClan exile mostly because she is upset that he didn't go with her.

Hmm..
-If he had lived, Redtail would have fully accepted Firepaw.
-Because Spiderleg was in FernxDust's first litter, he was often brushed aside as younger siblings were born. This made him distant with Dustpelt, which in turn influenced his distance with his kits, since he never knew what an active father was.
-Whitewing was named after Whitestorm, her mother's mentor.
-One way that Crowfeather proved his loyalty to WindClan was naming his kit Breezekit, since Breeze is a kind of wind. This is also why Breezepelt was favoured compared to the other DF trainees.
-Hazeltail never took a mate because she knew how outside-blood cats were treated, and was afraid her kits would be treated the same.
-Juniperclaw was named after Juniperkit.
-If not for the Ashfor drama, the Clans would have had a Daylight Gathering to celebrate a year since SkyClan's formal integration to the lake.
-Bluestar named Rusty Firepaw after her prophecy.
-Micah was a distant ancestor/relative of the Sisters. This explains how he looks almost exactly like Tree, and fathered a six-toed-cat.
-Spider Paw and Blackstar are related.

Some more
Beechfur and Gorsetail: they were very open about being mates from different clans, and both helped raise their kits
Rosetail: she had a crush on Bluestar for a long time, she also babysat the kits a lot
Driftkit (COTC): he became leader and was well known for his funny and happy personality
Brightsky: she came to Mudfur in his dreams and encouraged him to move on and let him play with his dead kits.

I have another one from an old thread. I like the Dark Forest trainees a lot edit: forgot to say this was about Redwillow! I headcannon that he wasn't clanborn and joined when he was almost apprentice age, assumed to be the son of a kittypet, possibly even kin to Jacques or Susan. He was judged for his soft background, especially after all the trouble those kittypets gave ShadowClan. His mentor and the rest of his clan tolerated his existence but he never felt truly part of the clan. Flametail was his closest friend and when he died in Night Whispers, he was left without any support system. He dove into training because he enjoyed the newfound loyalties he made with the other trainees. When TLH happened, he chose to fight for the side that he felt actually cared about him. |

Cloudtail's littermates became either daylight warriors in Skyclan or bloodclan warriors. We know they were adopted by other two legs, and I think that by the time that happened they were old enough to know what happened to their oldest brother. So even though they're all separated now, they still chose to join whatever clan they could as a way to be close to one another.

Here are mine:
Minnowtail always had feelings for Reedwhisker but never got the chance to confess to him.
Mudfur always saw Mothwing as a daughter and wished Leopardstar was more like her.
Shrewclaw still teases Tallstar in StarClan and still calls him 'wormcat'. The other StarClan cats are startled to see him be so casual around his leader, but Tallstar doesn't mind as he's used to it.
Blackstar purposefully avoids Stonefur in StarClan. Stonefur notices this and thinks it's amusing.
Darktail and Sol crossed paths at one point and it was Sol who told him all about SkyClan. Darktail asks him to join his rogue group but Sol says he prefers to operate alone.
ShadowClan warriors, mainly Scorchfur, regretted the way they treated Crowfrost and wished he were alive to be leader.
Adderfang was always disappointed in the way Thistleclaw turned out and felt responsible.
Sunstar gives Stormtail a piece of his mind for the way he treated Moonflower and his daughters.
Thrushpelt and Oakheart are friends in StarClan, though it took Oakheart a long time to warm up to him.
Hailstar, Mudfur, and Shellheart were close friends ever since they were apprentices.
Snowtuft and Sparrowfeather are friends in the Dark Forest and they're the least ruthless of the group.
