Lightleap or Sunbeam?

I think Lightleap is a cool side character. She’s a troublemaker and cares for her family, but she isn’t thoughtful. I like Sunbeam’s cool maturity, her open-mindedness, and how she likes to sleep a lot, so I’m going with her.

I don't like Lightleap because of how mean she was to Sunbeam in River, I haven't read Sky yet so I dont know how she is there. But I love Sunbeam, she is just such a good character and I love her personality.

Lightleap, I love her general pettiness and firestarter attitude, I'd love for her to be more antagonistic to Sunbeam tbh esp since this is somewhat of a rivalry between them now? I suppose? Eh? Not perfect by any means but so far I like the fact that she does have a notable personality outside of the "GenericNice.png" or "CardboardTemplate.png" poor Pouncestep though lmao

Idk, Sunbeam rubs me the wrong way wirh her jealousy, and not comforting her friend at her brother's funeral, so I'd have to say Lightleap.

Sunbeam

Sunbeam. Lightleap gives me Needletail, Squirrelflight, Sparkpelt vibes of being selfish, entitled, spoiled and petty. She is not their yet but is leaning in that direction and probably join Needletail, Squirrelflight, Sparkpelt, Finchlight, and Rainflower as my least favorite characters.

The Chad Lightleap: Cuckholds her best friend, tells her to her face about her awful ideas, cares about her brother

The Virgin Sunbeam: Used by Nightheart, seethes in private over Lightleap, cares more about interpersonal drama than a kit dying

Sunbeam really did herself no favors this book and I think she’s really messed up the straight man vibe by dipping just as far into being an awful person as Lightleap.

I found that every other thought she had on the journey was something like "Oh my gosh, Lightleap is so horrible and selfish!!!". Which would be fine, Lightleap IS horrible and selfish, but it reached a point of absurdity when Lightleap can be doing something harmless and she'll immediately start furiously grumbling in her mind about how Lightleap is so terrible. It began to feel very whiny. Which again, would be fine, ASC is a pretty funny series so far and the mental image of Lightleap breathing being enough to make Sunbeam salty is quite funny. The problem is it ends up making Sunbeam less unique, and by extension it messes with the comedy of Lightleap by making her seem LESS egregiously mean. It's stuff that's totally fine and I even appreciate it by itself, but it exists as part of a whole book, and the book ends up suffering despite the fact that it might make sense and I even enjoy it in isolated snippets.
