an AU exercise. what do u think would have happened? just keeping in mind, i dont like fire x spotted, but i thought it'd be fun to share my AU idea.
after surviving clawface's attack, spottedleaf and firepaw spend time together while she is healing. once fireheart becomes a warrior, spottedleaf steps down as medicine cat and becomes a warrior, and yellowfang takes over and eventually becomes cinderpaw's mentor later in the story. i think this way, not much would change other than the relationships. perhaps firestar's new starclan guide becomes yellowfang once she dies later in the arc? or does yellowfang die sooner? im not sure.
i think in such an AU, sandstorm and dustpelt would get together, while a warrior spottedleaf gets with fireheart/star.
and as for ferncloud (since dustpelt is now with someone else), she would probably get with someone like rainwhisker or something.
if leafpool and squirrelflight were now spottedleaf's kits, i would like to see spottedleaf have a talk with leafpool. spottedleaf would have matured and grown alongside her mate and kits, and be the type to talk to her daughter who is going through a similar situation she did (a medicine cat falling love). the only difference is, spottedleaf was first a warrior apprentice, but switched to a medicine cat apprentice, whereas leafpool was always a medicine cat apprentice from the start. spottedleaf would give leafpool MUCH better advice than what she gave in canon TNP that caused leafpool to run away.
i think from TNP, this AU would diverage a LOT more because of this aspect of the AU.
