I am rereading Midnight right now. One dynamic I enjoy is the one between Feathertail and Brambleclaw. Though, actually, her dynamic with the other cats all around is nice. Feathertail in this book is the type of cat that it seems everyone in the group has a soft spot for, including Brambleclaw and I found this conversation of theirs endearing:
"Thanks." Brambleclaw crouched beside her and took a bite, the warm flavors flooding his mouth. "Try not to worry," he mewed as Feathertail bent her head to take a halfhearted mouthful. "I'm sure we'll meet up with the others soon."
Feathertail stopped eating to give him an anxious look. "I hope so. It feels weird being without Stormfur. We've always been closer than most littermates. I suppose it comes from having a father in a different Clan."
Brambleclaw nodded, remembering how close he had felt to Tawnypelt when they were kits, as they struggled to make sense of their bloodstained heritage from their father, Tigerstar.
"Of course, you'll understand that." Feathertail invited him with a twitch of her ears to take more of the mouse.
"Yes," Brambleclaw replied. He shrugged. "But I don't miss my father as much as you must miss Graystripe. I wish I could honor his memory, but I can't."
"That must be very hard," Feathertail pressed her muzzle against his shoulder. "At least we see Graystripe at Gatherings. And we were so proud when he was made Clan deputy."
"He's proud of you, too," mewed Brambleclaw, glad to leave the subject of his father behind.

Brambleclaw trusted Feathertail's judgement and she helped him understand Crowpaw a bit more.
"This means that Crowpaw is the only one of us who hasn't had a sign," Feathertail went on, glancing down into the hollow where Brambleclaw could just see the gray-black curve of Crowpaw's back as he slept in a clump of grass.
"Maybe we shouldn't tell him about your dream, then?" he suggested uneasily.
"We can't do that!" Feathertail looked shocked. "He'd find out sooner or late, and then he'd think we were deliberately deceiving him. "No," she added after pausing to think, "let me tell him. I'll wait to catch him in a good mood."
Brambleclaw snorted, "You'll wait a long time, then."
Feathertail let out a faint mew of distress. "Oh, Brambleclaw. Crowpaw's not so bad. It was hard for him, leaving the forest just when he was about to be made a warrior. I think he's lonely--I have Stormfur, and you have Tawnypelt and Squirrelpaw. We all knew each other before this, but Crowpaw is on his own."
Brambleclaw hadn't thought of that before. It was worth thinking about, though it wouldn't make it any easier to get on with Crowpaw the next time he started arguing the smallest point.
"We're all loyal to our Clans," he meowed. "And to the forest and the warrior code. Crowpaw is no different. He'd be fine if he didn't want to be leader all the time, when he's no more than an apprentice"
Feathertail still looked uneasy. "Even if you're right, it won't make it any easier for him, knowing he's the only one who hasn't had a vision."
Briefly Brambleclaw touched Feathertail's muzzle with his own. "You tell him, then, when you think best." Glancing around, he added, "We'd better wake them all and get moving. If we can work out which way to go."

I love how empathetic Feathertail is and how Brambleclaw was always willing to lend a listening ear. It's sad knowing that she dies in the next book. I feel like in another life where they were in the same Clan, they could've worked well together as mates. They have a solid understanding of one another and it makes for a lovely friendship.
If Feathertail had gotten more screen time, I feel that she could've become one of my favorites. I haven't read any of the newer graphic novels, but reading this book makes me want to read Feathertail's just so I can see more of her.
