This is the planning page for a Wolf rp that I plan to make. I currently don't have all the details but figured, I can put my ideas here and come up with something. Any one can pop in to help Name: Only name I can think of at the moment is Rugged Mountain Pack. Territory Inspiration: Rocky Mountains and Canada. I'm thinking their camp could be in a dense forest, a large cave system with tunnels and ledges or perhaps a cave connected to a old coal mine. Landmarks: The lake for obvious reasons, Maybe a forbidden section of the forest or field cause it's bear territory or a popular spot for hunters and poachers to kill or capture animals or both. A place to train the young wolves, Something to mark the border for rival packs or human territory. Perhaps a hot spring area? Ranks: Alpha Sol Alpha Luna Betas Healer/Medicine Wolf Deltas (Older more experienced pack members. Could be like a council for the alphas or something to use instead of Lead position) Head Hunter Hunters Lead Warrior/Guardians/Protectors Warriors/Guardians/Protectors Lead Scout/Tracker Scouts/Trackers: Keep an eye on the herds, explore beyond the borders for recourses, danger and food/herbs) Apprentices/Trainees/Paws?/Students Mothers and Pups (Could be given a special name or left as is) Omegas Elders Some creative name for their ancestors Plot Ideas: Evil Healer who uses their position to manipulate everyone except a small group who wishes to expose them. A war or maybe a ongoing conflict with another wolf pack or lone group of wolves who want their territory. Bear or mountain lion causing trouble for the pack. Humans have relocated some wolves in hopes they blend into the existing pack. A scouting patrol gets captured by humans and they have to find their way back. Sickness, Love triangles, Betrayal love, heartbreak, whatever. Extra: This rp doesn't have to be super realistic. So all type of wolves can join. I would even include coyotes and some wolf dog hybrids provided the rp doesn't get flooded with them. Unless, they had high ranking positions or had been there a while, I could see wolf dogs being looked down on by the others.

Official pack name Blue Moon Pack. They were founded during a blue moon and they treat a blue moon as a sacred time but also for celebrating.

Heyo, I've been hoping to see more canine RP stuff (that's not just... *hem* squicky dominance and reproduction-obsessed werewolf concepts that don't sit well with me at all o_o') and would be happy to join in and help get this started! Is there anything in particular you could use some more input on or do you mind if I just put any of the thoughts I have so far out there?

Okie, thanks! I could come up with a lot over time so I hope I don’t get too overwhelming c’x
For hierarchy: * To help things be a bit more compressed, the Deltas could be comprised of the eldest and/or lead wolf of each subordinate working rank, possibly including any elders who previously held major positions like that. * Alongside the wolves who are actively pregnant or nursing, there could be a Denwatcher/Sitter rank for any perma-queens, possibly as well as wolves with not much capability for any of the higher energy jobs and maybe any willing elders, so that there may be extra wolves available to watch and help raise pups in case their moms wish to return to normal duty after weaning their litter.
For landmarks: * Maybe the hot spring idea could be incorporated into a spiritual location that could be used not only to seek the ancestors’ guidance but maybe also bring ill and wounded wolves to help them cleanse and heal? * There could be a rapids area (a river or large stream that dumps into the lake?) that’s seasonally hazardous with the thaw making the current stronger, and aside from then and salmon migration times which could attract bears it could be a place for more experienced wolves to try catching some fish? Or just take a splish splash XD The stream/rapids could also make up part of the territory boundary.

Love both of those ideas! There could be a Den Mother who is the oldest permanent queen and she takes care of everyone.
Another Landmark idea I had was something called the Thunder woods. There is a denser section of the forest that has a train track next to it and at certain times the train will pass by and scare the animals who aren't used to it. Or hunters use this area to hunt. Maybe a bit of both where the hunter uses the sound of the train to take shots at animals so any wolf in the area needs to be extra careful.

Ranks: Alpha Sol and Alpha Luna: These two wolves are the leaders of the pack. They represent the sun and moon and usually acts as mates though there has been platonic pairings as well. The alphas word is law and they decide whatever is best for the pack.
Betas: The Betas are the second in command of the pack. If anyone happens to the alphas they would be next in line. They advises the alphas and keep an eye on their packmates to make sure they are happy.
Deltas: The deltas is usually comprised of older wolves mainly the best, fighters, hunters and scouts in the clan. Some elders can hold this rank as well. They usually lead patrols and hold training classes for the younger wolves in training. Should something happen to the Alphas or Betas they will act as a council and vote on who should become the next alphas.
Medicine Wolf/Healer: This wolf or wolves help to heal their packmates of sickness and illnesses. They also communicate with their ancestors.
Hunters: The main backbone of the pack. These wolves are swift, cunning and adaptable. They must work as a team in order to bring down big prey like deer, elk and moose.
Guardians: The guardians are the wolves who serve as protectors for the pack. They go on patrols to keep the borders safe, fight off intruders and accompany their packmates in order to keep them safe. These wolves must be fearless, strong and willing to die for their pack.
Scouts: These wolves explore the territory and go beyond the borders keeping an eye out for dangers, new herbs or to keep a eye on the local herds. Scouts report their findings to the Alphas and Betas. They will occasionally join up with Guardians on patrols.
Paws/Trainees: These are young wolves training to be a Hunter, guardian, healer or scout. They start training at six moons and finish around 1 or 2 years.
Den Mother(s) These are she-wolves who are expecting or nursing pups.
Den Watchers: These are wolves who act as baby sisters for the pups and companions to the den mothers. Den Watches are comprised of wolves who may not be suitable for the other ranks. This rank also goes for any permanent mothers.
Elders: Retried wolves who choose to live out the rest of their lives in peace.
Omegas: The lowest ranking wolves of the pack. This rank is reserved for those who have broken a serious rule, newbies wishing to join, those with a severe injury ect. The omegas do the chores no one else wants to do and usually ends up eating last. Omegas can work their way out of this rank but it takes a lot of hard work.
Dead Wolves: (Star Pack. Pack of Endless stars, ect)

Sounds good! An additional idea could be to call the ancestors 'Soul Packs', the ones in the heavens could be called the Lightsoul or Starsoul Pack while villainous spirits and their afterlife could be the Darksoul Pack?

Traditions and Customs
Full Moon Howl: Every full moon the pack gathers to howl to the full moon. No one is sure who started this tradition but it's something that has been going on for years. Some believe that howling together keeps the pack strong, others believe it's to honor the Light Soul pack and keep the dark soul pack away. Some use this as a way to express whatever emotions that they needed to let out. It is considered back luck if a wolf decides not to howl during this time.
Blue Moon Celebration: Every two or three years a blue moon will occur which is cause for celebration in the pack. During this time. the pack will host a feast, play games, and celebrate the founding of their pack. Wolves are forbidden from shedding blood during this time. This celebration can take place in camp but usually happens at the lake.
Graduation? When a trainee is ready to fully join the ranks, they must pass a test best suited for their rank of choice. For a wolf wanting to be a hunter, they must lead a hunting patrol and either gather a sizeable amount of small prey or take down bigger prey like a deer or elk. For a guardian, they must survive long enough in a fight either against other guardians or a delta. Scouts must go to a certain location and track something down or discover something useful to the pack. Healers will be given a test of herbs and illnesses. Those who fail will be given three chances to succeed. If not, they must remain a trainee for a little while longer. Those who can't pass their tests at all will be given the Denwatcher rank or the omega rank.
A solar Eclipse is considered a omen for terrible things to come. Any wolf born under the black sun is said to be cursed. Legend says that during this time the Dark soul pack members enter their world and look for innocent wolves to snatch their souls away. This is why if a solar eclipse is happening, you are to hide away until it's over.
Animal bones and antlers are used to decorate dens?
Maybe something for mates idk.
(More coming soon)

Landmarks
The Reflecting Lake: This lake is located at the base of the snowy mountains. The water especially near the shallow parts are so clear that you can see everything swimming beneath the surface. The beauty comes from the lake mirroring the sky which can be a site to behold on starry nights. The lake is a popular spot to hunt, train, swim, and bring others on dates.
Sacred Springs: The Sacred Springs are located in a rocky area and consists of a large, hot spring and several smaller springs near by. The springs are used as a place where healers can commune with the light souls pack. They say that a light souls pack member will descend from the sky and either enter the spring or stand on top of it. Others claim they emerge from the water. Other than being a place to talk to their ancestors, sick or injured wolves submerge themselves in the hot springs in order to feel better. Anyone can bathe in the hot spring, however there may be certain times of the year where only the higher ranks may bathe in the hot spring.
The Rapids: At the western border, there is a river that feeds into the lake. Upstream the water is slow and doesn't have much urgency, but downstream is a swift moving rapids that could sweep away even the most experienced swimmer. The river is dangerous after a rainfall and after the snow melts. At certain times of the year, bears will come to the river to catch and eat the fish. Most of the bears know the pack isn't a threat but still best to keep away until the bears are done eating.
The Thunder Woods: The Thunder woods is a denser section of the forest. At the edge of the forest is a set of train tracks that stretch on for miles. At least twice a day, a cargo or passenger train will speed on by whistling it's loud horn. Most creatures are used to this sound. However, at around leaf-fall hunters will come and use this area to hunt, sometimes using the sound of the train whistle to shoot their prey. Wolves are to be very careful when venturing into this area.
Be wary if you hear what sounds like a fellow wolf calling out to you or the sound of prey in trouble. This could be a trick!
Snowy Peaks: The Snowy Peaks are a set of mountains that stretch up high in the sky. Not much is known about the snowy peaks aside from rumors and legends. Wolves have tried to explore the mountains or see what's on the other side but they usually end up lost or having to turn around cause it's just to cold or too rugged. Aside from the cougars and bears that call this mountain home, there is a wolf pack that live deep within the mountain. Not much is known except that they are a secretive and territorial.
Other potential landmarks
Firewatch Tower
Twoleg Town some miles away

Trying to figure out if I want to add a long history or a short one. Also trying to decide if the joining form should have a few traits for personality or just have people write it out.

Awesome, saw it a few days ago! Just taking some time to decide on characters c: (thus posting here to keep from cluttering the actual page until I've properly joined lol)
Also wondering as I noticed there aren't Alphas or Betas listed atm, is there a plan for deciding on those? or what's up with that?

(I was leaving it open for someone to claim but I may just go ahead and claim the alphas. I thought the rp would get a lot more joiners when I finally opened it.
