Their friendship is so precious. Fireheart was visiting Cinderpaw basically everyday after she got injured and when Silverstream died, Fireheart wanted to let her know that it wasn’t her fault.
I can see why people ship them. Cinderpaw was sympathetic to Graystripe’s ordeal when the majority of the Clan was not. While I like Sandstorm, I didn’t like how hostile she was to Graystripe after he had lost Silverstream. It’s strange to think about how forbidden romances aren’t a big deal in today’s books, but back in the older ones, most of ThunderClan turned their back on Graystripe.
Also, just this passage from Forest of Secrets:
-pg 264
I wonder how different things would’ve been had she become a warrior instead. Do you think her and Fireheart would’ve eventually become mates? This passage is sad because while she seems happy to become a medicine cat, we know later on all she ever wanted was to become a warrior. She had to give up on her dream and settle.
I want a Cinderpelt novella so bad.

“I want a Cinderpelt novella so bad.”
They seem to be on an intermission for the time being.

I remember reading this when I was younger, and after re-reading it I still like their relationship, I definitely preferred them to be together over the other options we got canonly. I remember finding their relationship to be very sweet, and their friendship always felt like they were on equal standing, and had a close friendship, and mutual understanding. It was very sweet. I love Cinderpelt as a medicine cat, but I always wished she was still a warrior too, and that she could have led a perfectly normal life, with Firestar even.

Their friendship was a genuine treasure, and very sweet, heartwarming and just so wholesome. They had loads of chemistry and honestly would paired well together. And it’s sincerely inspirational that she was able to maintain such a strong, well-knitted bond and healthy platonic friendship , without harboring any resentment towards Sandstorm or Firestar considering her concealed feelings for Firestar. Both her and their friendship will always be a favorite of mine. Her death is still one of the most heartbreaking in the series to me.
