This book was a decent read. I actually don't mind the concept of Night x Sun. They're two lonely individuals who have been charmed by one another. However, Nightheart is impulsive and out of all of the protagonists, he definitely self sabotages the most. I enjoyed his pov despite having been on the spoiler thread thinking that I wouldn't. I really like Frostpaw. I'm wondering where the Erins plan on taking her character arc. While I liked the idea of having her become leader, I don't think it's something they're going to go through with which leads me to wonder what direction they plan on taking her. I think her grief was really well done in this book with her not eating or taking care of her hygiene. It was realistic. One relationship that I'm rooting for is Spire x Fringe. Fringewhisker left her Clan, family, and all that was familiar to be with her ShadowClan mate. She gets mistreated and bullied but despite it all, she puts up with it for Spireclaw. She tries to prove herself by overcompensating through taking more patrols and bringing more prey than what is expected. I really like her as a supporting character and I hope she becomes Sunbeam's new best friend. I plan on doing fanart for each book I read and reread, so here's the fanart for this one (it's Fringewhisker):

I just finished it too! I liked it. SplashFrost was really out of the blue but honestly I think it's kinda cute. When Nightstar was mentioned I smiled cause it was so unexpected lmao. Also Nightheart got called Nightpelt as a mistake and I wasn't paying attention and thought Nightstar got revived or something. I think Sunbeam's chapters were kinda boring to be honest, as well as Nightheart's. The RC situation is just too interesting for me to not be excited to read about it. But I don't really like BlazeLight, it just seems boring and a plot point to further push NightSun. Anyways I kinda like Splashtail, although he was really suspicious in River. However Frostpaw's lack of StarClan visions wasn't an interesting plot point to read about. It's been done with Mothwing already, and it was just more irritating to read.

I was pleasantly surprised by this book. This is the first time in a while I managed to avoid (most) spoilers for a book, so I was glad to read it for myself without any prior ideas of what might happen. Tbh, I’m not nearly as bothered by NightxSun as I thought I’d be. I actually think their friendship is kinda cute, and they could potentially make a cute couple (as long as the Erin’s don’t ruin it).
I’m not surprised Nightheart chose to move to ShadowClan, but I will admit I’m surprised by how quickly he made the decision. I think we all saw it coming, but I didn’t expect it to happen yet.
As interesting as the RiverClan situation is, I actually found some of Nightheart’s and Sunbeam’s chapters more interesting. Frostpaw’s, in my opinion, have become a little predictable - they’re mostly her stressing about her relationship with StarClan and who RiverClan’s leader should be. Frostpaw’s crush on Splashtail surprised me, but I honestly think they’d be cute too. I’d honestly like to see Frostpaw go from being a medicine cat apprentice to a warrior apprentice - I don’t think we’ve ever seen a character switch from medicine cat to warrior before (Leafpool doesn’t count), so it would be an interesting twist.
ShadowClan and RiverClan fighting at the end was a huge surprise to me, but it was a good surprise. We don’t see a ton of inter-Clan conflict in recent arcs, so I’m definitely interested to see how this conflict evolves.
I’m really looking forward to where this arc is going. I think it’s really good so far, so I can’t wait to see where it goes from here.

Glad you liked the book! I did too. I enjoyed Sunbeam's chapters the most, she's becoming more relatable by the book. I also really liked her friendship forming with Fringewhisker, and I hope she and her siblings start to grow even closer since their mother is... well she probably hates them now besides their more forgotten brother.
I think Splashtail will use Frostpaw, I don't trust him at all. I think the relationship could be interesting if handled well. Tbh I wasn't as interested in what Frostpaw had going on this time around until the very end.
