Man, I’m pretty disappointed that they have no novellas planned. I really liked the novellas since they were nice short reads.

I’m excited for this-
3. Returning to publishing plans, we were asked if there was anything on the horizon to commemorate the 20th anniversary of WARRIORS.
A. TWENTY YEARS!!?? It’s sometimes hard to get our heads around. A number of ideas have been suggested and discussed with the publisher, and we have a feeling that we will be receiving a sign from StarClan very soon.

I now wonder if Ivypool is going to get a graphic novel instead of a novella. Since their focus is on the graphic novel side of things and they did give Blackstar a novella when he got second.

Considering that Ivypool performed comparatively better than Onestar, it's still likely she'll get one. |

Considering that Ivypool performed comparatively better than Onestar, it's still likely she'll get one. If she will end up with a novella, it likely won’t be anytime soon as novellas are not their current focus at the moment. (Weird, I guess I misremembered Blackstar as being second. Either way, I still hope she doesn’t receive a Super Edition, a novella is more suitable for a cat who’s pov we had not that long ago.) |

This is interesting.
1. While I really do like the graphic novels, I also really like the novellas. I really miss those.
2. So the line in SqH will be rewritten. It just hasn't as of yet. I wonder when that edition will come out. Which error about Morningflower and Ashfoot are they talking about? The one where they appear as Onestar's littermates instead of as his older sisters?
3. I wonder what they're going to release. I wouldn't mind another TUG since so many new characters have been added to the series since the previous one.
4. Ashfur being on the cover of TPONS was pretty obvious. I wasn't expecting Willowshine at the bottom, though. Rootspring was a POV for the arc, so him I'm not surprised about.

The novellas must not sell as well. I think that’s also why it’s taken so long for SqH to be reprinted with Sandstorm’s line being removed/revised. Probably sold so poorly that it’s taken until now for the first batch to have sold enough to warrant them printing more. |

What was the Sandstorm line in Squirrelflight’s Hope? I don't remember the exact line, but she's basically warning Squirrelflight that if she returns to the world of the living she might risk living with a huge injury like Briarlight. |

The novella’s are some of the best stories. To be honest I love some of the novellas and graphic novels more than some of the super editions and main series.

Maybe after we've gotten a manga for each clan we'll go back to getting novellas. I agree it is a shame though that they have no plans for them.

Thank you for posting this on here, Rainfire! 1. I'm sad to read about them not having any novellas planned for 2023 since I was really hoping for some new short stories in that regard. Especially in regars to possible future villains getting featured in this format with that concept of exploring their character in a more condensed way. 2. Glad that there will be changes made to the problematic Sandstorm line regarding Briarlight from SqH after all. And that they will apparently make it so that Ashfoot and Morningflower are going to be the older sisters of Onestar again too like it was known before his SE came where the got referred to as his littermates instead. 3. Really excited to eventually find out what they have ultimately planned to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Warriors with by next year. Cannot wait to see it. 4. Cool to know that Rootspring and Willowshine are the cats featured on the US TBC #5 cover together with Ashfur. As for the German cover, they sometimes tend to put random cats on there. But looking at it closely now, the big cat head is Ashfur (no surpises there) and the cat beneath him could definitely be seen as Shadowsight. Not sure about the one featured on the left but this could very well be a case of just a random kitty they put there. Dark Forest warrior #23 or something, I suppose. Checked the German Wiki just now, nothing has been confirmed on there about who the German cover cats are. They've only stated who the ones on the English cover are. Also checked out the official German publisher website (Beltz & Gelberg) but there is no info to be found there either as of yet. German TBC #5 cover for reference: |
