ravenclan - ivyclan - hailclan - wolfclan
disclaimer: what you see on this thread is a draft and may be altered in the future
Below are four Clans that will reside in a forest valley. In the previous thread, we had two choices above the others. Those two choices were RavenClan and WolfClan. I need to see which one would interest the populace more so I can continue building them up.

general history
The cats of the mountainous forest were not so peaceful once. The different ideologies clashed against each other often and would lead to bloodshed. It wasn't until a major sickness that the cats had to put differences aside and work together. Once they had overcome the obstacles and reached peace, the groups around them realized they could live in their lands without fighting for every scrap of prey.
Over the span of six moons, four certain cats from each group received a sign from their ancestors. They took these signs and built upon the foundation of the Clans we know today. We honor those cats in our stories, but we add to the legends with our own.
characteristics
— — ravenclan
Clan character: Brave, Prideful, Clever
Prey: Birds ranging from small to large, will also steal eggs for their queens, kits, and elders
Hunting skills: Relies on their skill to hunt in the trees, their unique partnership in the skies leads them to be capable of turning the hunters of flight into the hunted
Clever for unlocking the secrets to the skies, one can also see their actions as reckless and flamboyant. The lean yet powerful cats of RavenClan are known to actively search for owls, hawks, and sometimes eagles to protect their camp and bring a feast home.
The best climbers perform these special missions and plan to prevent as little harm to themselves as possible. Despite the precautions, the Clan faces a lower retirement age. Taking high risks result in injuries, and scars are prominent among them. The Clan is exceptionally proud of their ways and becomes defensive when others critique their hunting tactics.
The Clan has dark colors among their pelts. Their hunting tactics require them to lean and use powerful hind legs to prop themselves into the trees. Tabby markings are also extremely common, while paler-colored coats are rare.
— — ivyclan
Clan character: Cunning, Ambitious, Studious
Prey: Small mammals and birds
Hunting skills: By day, able to elegantly stalk the undergrowth, by night, they steal prey from the their target
Unlike their counterparts, the cats of IvyClan are cats of all trades. While they lack the higher mastery that the others have, they can at least competently mimic their neighbors' unique traits, such as swimming, hunting in the trees, and navigating the darkness.
This "mimicking" gives the Clan an edge in offense and defense. In dire times, it also allows them to target a Clan and use their tactics against them. The cats use their variety of coat colors to properly spy and steal on any Clan of their choosing.
The Clan will only allow "shadows" to perform these missions to hide their recon capabilities. For extra precaution, the Clan only performs these activities at night while they hunt in the undergrowth during the day. "Shadows" are chosen via trials to prove how sneaky they can be.
— — hailclan
Clan character: Suave, Mysterious, Gallant
Prey: Fish ranging from small to medium-sized, occasional small land prey
Hunting skills: Proud swimmers, the large cats are capable of swimming against currents and diving into the depths of pools to retrieve prey
Muscular and powerful, the cats of Clanthree swim through the forest waters. The cats can stretch their toes to create a webbed effect, making their outstretched paws appear larger than usual. This trait alone has started the mere rumor that all cats in this Clan have "duck paws."
Their swimming capability allows them to travel easily to one location through the forest's rivers. Utilizing the waterways, the cats can appear at one end of another Clan's territory and attack. Apprentices learn how to hold their breath and swiftly travel underwater effectively. They learn the waterways and hidden locations to reappear for a quick breath. The forest's channels and remote sites for a quick breath are in the first moons. Later, the apprentices will be able to identify changing currents.
Their brown and gray colored coats can create the illusion of a large fish or shadow underwater. Add on their markings, and the other Clans certainly have difficulty telling a cat from fish in rippling waters. The downside of their diet is that the fish contain mercury. This makes the Clan sick more often and easily compared to their neighbors. The Clan considers this a small price to pay for the benefits they otherwise receive. Queens experience the "dry moons" upon learning of their pregnancy and stay on a strict land prey diet until the kits have fully weaned.
— — wolfclan
Clan character: Adventurous, Strong, Stoic
Prey: small mammals, hares, and rabbits
Hunting skills: Masters of the dark, capable of hunting in complete darkness and prefers to hunt at night
The warriors of WolfClan are known to be lean and petite, gifting the Clan speed. They are known to have more extensive patrols at night for hunting but will take advantage of the daylight when necessary. The cats can navigate the tunnels and caves that lie under the ground of their territory. The cats perform daily maintenance on these tunnels.
With their size, they can have a patrol go underground to track prey, avoid predators, and reach the other Clans' territory if the waterways allow. Pelt colors of brown and gray are prevalent. Ginger is uncommon, as well as lighter-colored pelts. They have rougher pads and longer claws than their counterparts.
Their curiosity is widely known among the Clans, making them most welcoming to outsiders. Risk-takers, the cats are sent on patrols to explore the bounds outside their territory in hopes of proper expansion. However, the mountains prevent them from exploring extensively, and some patrols never return.
