Neat! I don't have discord but hope those who do and get access to your server will have a fun time discussing things on there. It's unfortunate that the first Sky spoiler thread got locked since this also happened with the River thread. Really hope this doesn't become a pattern for future ASC book spoiler threads as well...

It's unfortunate that the first Sky spoiler thread got locked since this also happened with the River thread. Really hope this doesn't become a pattern for future ASC book spoiler threads as well... I’m hoping it doesn’t become a pattern either. I’ve thought of doing something to re-open the Sky spoiler thread once I’m finished with it. Yeah, that would just be such a shame. But if such arguments start to break out again (like on the Sky spoiler thread) or there is excessive amounts of trolling activity (like on the River spoiler thread), I think immediately calling you or another mod, instead of trying to defuse such situations (mostly in vain) or merely "threatening" to call you, will be more effective in the long run. That would be great since it's still a week (as of today) until the book officially comes out and people did have some good (and for the most part civil) discussions on there before things got bad. I'm sure some of these people (like me) who do not have one of those Sky copies already being out in the wild, would be happy to see the spoiler thread open up again. There are other spoiler threads for this book on here already but the originally one did have a lot of full chapter summaries, after all. |

I'll ask Hollyfall (iirc, that's who created the Sky spoiler thread) about re-opening the thread. It won't take me much to clean it up considering I've been working on it since yesterday. I find it easier when people tag or report things ASAP if I am not around. My time zone doesn't coincide with all of the ones in North America and I prefer to keep an eye on the thread/threads. I agree a majority of the discussions were civil besides the ones which caused it to be locked. I'm hoping I can restore the thread asap which will allow others to comment their thoughts and theories. If not, I can try to see if a new thread can be created. |
