* Okay, it seems NightXSun is rooting from both of these cats’ desperation to be appreciated - which is understandable but not exactly healthy, unless they actually end up meshing well. Wouldn’t be surprised if this relationship proves unhealthy but the editors still glorify it just to defend all the cross-clan stuff.

Tigercrap gets overthrown for nepotism and general emotional incompetence, STAYS overthrown instead of getting some stupid editor-contrived chance to ‘redeem himself’, Bramble retires and/or passes away, and no Squirrelstar because she’s also too old and it would be obvious nepotism. Both Bramble and Squirrel have been through enough.

- Sunbeam is troubled that Nightheart seems to believe they're all on the brink of war, and believes that Tigerstar's plans weren't the only reason he'd crossed the border to see her. She hopes he does move to ShadowClan so she can have a true companion again. She then sees Spireclaw and Berryheart arguing. Spireclaw tells her to leave Fringewhisker alone, but Berryheart hisses that she doesn't belong in ShadowClan. Spireclaw threatens to leave for SkyClan if that's what she really thinks. Berryheart stiffens, and says he has no loyalty. Spireclaw says he has loyalty for Fringewhisker, and he doesn't understand why Berryheart hates her so much.

- Sunbeam steps between them, asking them not to fight. Berryheart snorts she smells like herbs, and Sunbeam lies she walked through a patch of comfrey. Spireclaw snarls that he's going to finish his meal and then go find Fringewhisker. Sunbeam follows Spireclaw and he thanks her for sticking up for Fringewhisker earlier. Sunbeam assures him Berryheart is out of line, but she sympathizes with that Berryheart is trying to prevent history repeating itself. Spireclaw is less sympathetic and says it's unfair to take it all out on Fringewhisker. The two break off and Sunbeam goes to eat with Flaxfoot, who has saved a shrew for Sunbeam, and he says shrews are her favourite.

- Sunbeam and Flaxfoot talk about the last gathering when Tigerstar propositioned to lead RiverClan. Sunbeam says she heard that Tigerstar plans to invade. Flaxfoot is surprised, and says it'd be easy to do so right now but he doesn't see the point since ShadowClan doesn't eat fish. Sunbeam shrugs and says it's just a rumour probably, but Flaxfoot says he'll keep an ear out for news, but then goes to use the dirtplace.

- As Sunbeam lazes about later on, she overhears Berryheart and Tigerstar arguing. Berryheart accuses Tigerstar of wanting to invade RiverClan. Tigerstar, angry, asks where she got that idea. Berryheart says he's trying to install himself as RiverClan's leader. Tigerstar drops his jaw and asks why she thinks that. Berryheart says he's bitter because he lost a kit and wants to take revenge on RiverClan for their inaction. Tigerstar hisses that he knows full well that the death of his son is no reason to go to war and he wouldn't try to go to war for his own gain, especially when he's still grieving for Rowankit.

- Berryheart tries to backtrack, but Tigerstar demands to know where she got that information. Flaxfoot and Sunbeam lock eyes, and Sunbeam realizes Flaxfoot told Berryheart everything. Tigerstar growls that he doesn't want to invade and he only wants to help them. He doesn't want to become leader of RiverClan, and his duty is ShadowClan, but he will help RiverClan if it meets protecting ShadowClan. Berryheart mews that they shouldn't be getting involved. Tigerstar says their problems will become ShadowClan problems if they let it fester, using Ashfur's reign of ThunderClan as an example. Berryheart says helping is one thing, and invading is another. Tigerstar snarls he isn't going to invade, and next time she accuses him of things she should make sure they're true, and stalks off.

- Berryheart approaches Sunbeam and demands to know why she's passing on lies. Sunbeam stammers that she heard it from Nightheart, and Berryheart snarls that Sunbeam trusts some random tom more than her Clan. Berryheart continues to reprimand Sunbeam until Sunbeam turns her back and leaves, watching Flaxfoot stare at the ground meekly. As she leaves, she sees Blazefire and Lightleap standing together. Her heart lurches as she realizes they lied to her, and they're mates. Blazefire tries to explain one thing led to another, and they love each other. Sunbeam says their relationship is fine, but she has more important things to do.

I highly doubt Bramblestar will get killed off after only one arc in which they tried everything to save him. It is much more likely that he will either retire from the leadership position or get voted out by his Clanmates.

- Frostpaw, Mothwing, and Fidgetflake state in disbelief as Owlnose leaves the Moonpool. Mothwing tries to tell him he can't leave, but Frostpaw mews that you can't force a cat to be leader. She doesn't know who to pick if Owlnose doesn't want the leadership. She thinks of how much of a failure she is. She's misinterpreted everything and a useless apprentice. Fidgetflake grumbles they need to tell the other Clans. Mothwing explodes in anger and says Fidgetflake won't be telling them anything, and it's bad enough Fidgetflake knows more than he should. Fidgetflake glowers and says the medicine cats could help them. Mothwing screams that Tigerstar is already trying to take over their Clan. Fidgetflake snorts they need help, which Mothwing declines. Fidgetflake groans and tells Mothwing to just cut the act and says whether she likes it or not, they're in trouble. He leaves to go home and call an emergency medicine cat meeting.

- Frostpaw tries again to contact StarClan, but misses Curlfeather and wishes she were here to encourage her. Despite Frostpaw's attempts, she cannot reach StarClan. Mothwing assures her that she just needs more time, but Frostpaw screeches that they don't have time. Mothwing's eyes glimmer with sadness, and says she's worry she can't help her more with her troubles. Frostpaw says it's Mothwing's fault she doesn't have a proper connection to StarClan because Mothwing doesn't even believe in them.

- Frostpaw tries again to contact StarClan, but her head fills with doubts and remembering Curlfeather's final words. She starts to think perhaps she's not a real medicine cat, and perhaps she should a warrior like Mistpaw and Graypaw. She says she'll be a warrior if she needs to be, and then thinks that perhaps in time she and Splashtail would become mates. They could have kits, and she would name a kit after her mother. She begins to panic as Fidgetflake already suspects Mistystar and Reedwhisker didn't die of greencough. She wakes up. Mothwing asks if she's seen anything, but Frostpaw says no. Mothwing is upset, but Frostpaw says she's given up. They need to be honest about things, and that she shouldn't be the one deciding the fate of the Clan. Mothwing sighs, and says maybe she's right.

- As they return home, Mothwing tries to insist that Frostpaw is only connection to StarClan. Frostpaw doesn't answer. The two reach their camp, but in the camp they see ShadowClan warriors circling around Tigerstar. Their eyes filled with determination as RiverClan hangs back, full of fear. Dread fills Frostpaw's heart as she hopes that Tigerstar's here with good intentions.

Poor Frostpaw, the poor baby needs a hug!

- Frostpaw sees Tigerstar has brought the majority of his warriors. Owlnose and Splashtail are facing off Tigerstar and Cloverfoot. Mothwing demands to know why they're here. Tigerstar mews they're here to help. Splashtail sneers they don't need help, and it frightens Frostpaw to see Splashtail so angry. ShadowClan begins flanking the medicine cats, and Mothwing spits that Tigerstar seems to think they're helpless. He only mews that ShadowClan is committed to seeing RiverClan prosper and through it's troubles. Mothwing curls her lip and tells him leave. Tigerstar looks at Owlnose and asks what he thinks. Splashtail answers for him and tells him to leave. Frostpaw spots Duskfur and Shimmerpelt staring at Tigerstar with rage. Splashtail says he and Owlnose want them gone, to which Tigerstar (Frostpaw notes genuine concern in his voice) replies that StarClan has let RiverClan down again and Owlnose doesn't have his nine lives. He asks for Fidgetflake, and Mothwing replies he went home. Tigerstar shakes his head and mews that it's a shame he couldn't help.

- Splashtail snarls for Tigerstar to leave, or they're going to fight. Tigerstar squares up and growls that they're leaderless, and weak. They've been relying on Mothwing so much that their Clan is a wreck and seemingly forgot they had catmint, which surprises Frostpaw as she doesn't know how Tigerstar could have known that. Tigerstar snarls that if Mothwing wasn't so busy, then Rowankit would be alive. He then gestures to the tattered camp walls and dens, and meows that they clearly need help, and says he'll be their leader until they can sort themselves out. Splashtail flattens his ears and Duskfur lashes her tail.

- Harelight and Icewing try to defuse the situation by saying Tigerstar isn't unreasonable, but Mallownose and Sneezecloud jeer at them and tell them to move back to ShadowClan if they like it so much. Mothwing, clearly at her breaking point, snarls that this isn't Tigerstar offering them sanctuary; this is him taking over and removing their independence. She threatens Tigerstar to leave. Tigerstar, irritated, meows that this isn't a takeover, he only wishes to advise them. Duskfur snarks that it doesn't seem that way. Mallownose screams at him to go home. Tigerstar glances at Stonewing, and orders him to encircle the RiverClan cats. Duskfur hisses as ShadowClan begins to envelope them. Shimmerpelt asks Owlnose what to do, but Owlnose is staring in panic at Tigerstar, and, his voice breaking, pleads for everyone to not fight.

- Duskfur then lunges for Cloverfoot, heaving her to the ground and slamming her face into the mud. With that, the battle begins. Berryheart lunges for Duskfur, and the screams of battle deafen Frostpaw's ears as Shimmerpelt fights Spireclaw.

History really is repeating itself right now for RiverClan seasons later because Tigerstar is back! *cue dramatic music*
