Cliffwing - Cliffside Trail - Heronfoot
"I'm gonna fix up the holes in the dens with these, plus we can use them for nests. I'm trying to use what would have gone to waste"he said with a shrug

(I feel like Jayleap and Embertail would have the dynamic of "Only I can insult my sister")
Jayleap: Outside of Camp
Jayleap resists the urge to let out a groan as the medicine cat leads the way to the herb garden. Somehow she got stuck getting herbs for Pebblenose. This was runner's work and not something a warrior like herself should be doing. However, she knew better than to complain at least not loudly. Hopefully, she could join on another much more fun patrol later. Embertail is probably having way more fun right now.

[ i'm super rusty, sorry again. -.-' ]C A R D I N A L F A N Gw/ Embertail & hunting patrol || the plateaus || @ Tealraven »»————- ★ ————-«« A snort was the senior warrior's only response, at least for a long moment. Silently, Cardinalfang agreed with Embertail. The ravines would have been an ideal hunting place - instead, they braved this ruined trail. "You're right but we're here now," she finally said, unwilling to make excuses. She'd taken a risk, bringing her patrol up here. The trail was a wreck but she hoped the plateaus would be fruitful.
Finally, her paws hit even, pebbled dirt. Grass spanned as far as she could see, interrupted only by groupings of scrub and thin, wispy trees. The sunlight felt wonderful, though the breeze brought the chill not even a second later. It was always so windy on the plateaus since there wasn't much cover. "At least the sun is out," Cardinalfang muttered, though when she scented the air the heavy scent of rain floated to her on the breeze. They wouldn't have nice weather for long. "We should fan out."

EMBERTAIL the plateaus / with cardinalfang & hunting patrol
Embertail nodded once, a curt bob of her elegant head. She appreciated the straightforward answer. Cardinalfang's brusque, no-nonsense attitude might be off-putting to some, but it was an attitude that Embertail admired and understood well. She did not question the patrol leader any more as they ascended the plateau.
The warm sun on her shoulders was a welcome respite from the breezy ravine for all of two heartbeats. The wind-scoured plateau was dotted with scraggly trees and long grasses that bent in the gust now sweeping toward them. Embertail lowered her head, ears flat, but didn't stagger. She could barely hear Cardinalfang's next order over the air rushing past her face. "Aye," was all the warrior said before stalking into the grasses, every sense alert for prey.
The gust softened to a brisk, rain-scented breeze. For now it was in her favor: the warm, musky aroma of a mouse drifted downwind to her position. A small, racing heartbeat filled her ears. Embertail prowled forward, nostrils flaring. She paused, every muscle taut, her pale blue eyes pinned on the little grey creature ahead. Then she sprang. With a flash of fangs and claws it was over. Despite the flame-colored tail whipping behind her and ever-present frown lines in her forehead, Embertail was pleased with herself. She strode back to where she'd last seen Cardinalfang, keeping a wary eye on the sky for those eagles that had been spotted recently. "We're too exposed out here," she said aloud to whoever was listening.
HERONFOOT cliffside trail / with cliffwing
That... was actually a good point. Resourceful, too. The trail needed to be cleared and the dens would need to be reinforced before the rains came. Heronfoot appreciated the efficiency, even if he didn't appreciate being wrong, and grudgingly muttered, "Fine. Just try to contain the mess to one place. We can pick it up on the way back." He bustled forward with his ball of clay and began packing it into the earth where part of the trail had crumbled away. "A nest of weeds sounds scratchy and uncomfortable, if you ask me," he added with a huff.

He chuckled"i won't use them on yours than"he said as he dragged the plants off the trail for now. He than began to nudge any loose rocks off the trail, being careful to not let them fall carelessly

((Lmk if this narration style works~ and if it's hard to read!!)) The rest of the warm, autumn day passes uneventfully. After noon, the scattered clouds become heavy and dark with rain, and every cat is tensed as they wait for the weather to break. It takes its time, the first drops don't fall until late afternoon, and while the rest of the evening is spent under a light drizzle punctuated by short bursts of heavier rain, it is late enough in the day that all chores have been completed and only the dusk patrol is forced to venture out into the rain.
Amberblossom, Spiderfall, Webspots and Jaggedpaw are assigned to that dusk patrol. Because of the weather, they don't go far, sticking to the ravines around camp. Anything that may have caused trouble was sheltering from the weather, and the rain washed away any scents that may have been faintly on the stones since earlier in the day. They return to camp wet and with nothing to report.
The hunting patrol to the Plateus was very successful. Lead by Cardinalfang, Embertail, Rainflight and Shrewpaw also hunted among the shrubs and cracked earth. They didn't have to go far until they had collected three mice, a small hare by Shrewpaw, and a lucky fat raven, caught by the teamwork between Cardinalfang and Embertail. Laden with prey as the rainclouds begin to roll in, they decide to return to camp today instead of waiting in the outpost, in case the rain weakens the trails further. They make it to Rust River before the rains start, and follow the bottom of the ravines to camp, a longer but safer path, returning just before sun-down.
Pebblenose, Littlepaw, Jayleap and Lotuspaw help collect herbs. The herb garden is thick with plants, and although the non-healers struggled to differentiate the right herbs from the useless weeds in the thicket, they collected plenty to satisfy the Healer. Catnip, burdock and horsetail were especially plentiful in the wet ground. In the second half of the day, Pebblenose wanted to experiment collecing willow bark, which he heard could help lower fevers from a kittypet recently. Tree bark collection methods are not normal for the healers, however, and the group didn't make much progress before the rains came; Pebblenose decided to try again tomorrow.
The repair patrol, which in addition to Cliffwing and Heronfoot, also included Eagleheart and Troutstone, worked quickly under the pressure of rain and managed to get some work on the trails to the southern side of the territory. This should help cats safely travel between camp and a prey-rich valley to the east, close and safe enough for the Runners to hunt. Troutstone complemented their brother's creativity in recycling the detrius, and helped convince the patrol to carry the materials back to camp. Stubbornly, Heronfoot pushed the group to continue working after the drizzle began, and though they suffered muddy paws, they completed the section they had started before turning home.

The next morning began gloomy. The drizzle that had clouded TremorClan's territory last evening continued throughout the night, only letting up after the sun rose. Everything is still wet, and a deep, cold dampness soaks everything, including the stone. It was one of those autumn nights that reminds the Clan to stock up on extra bedding for the cold season.
The creek that runs through camp is running deep and fast from the added rainfall, pushing mud and sand up onto the grassy embankments. There is plenty of room to walk in the open strip between the engorged stream and the cliff face, however, and all TremorClan cats know the water will go down soon, but it is a shame that it is moving too quickly to fish or wade in. The stones surrounding the herb garden remain sturdy, and though a small corner of the plot succumbed to the water, it was a corner that had suffered repeated flooding that spring and hardly had any useful plants on it anyways.
Now that trail reparirs in the south are completed, the path to the eastern ravine is safe. The lush, wide valley is known for its ambundance of prey: mice, voles, rabbits and songbirds are plentiful in the brambles. With this hunting ground unlocked, the cats shouldn't have to make the long and dangerous trek to the plateaus for a while.

EMBERTAIL camp / with jayleap
Though a miserable drizzle had settled over the camp after nightfall and frigid air trickled through the gaps in her nest, Embertail had not complained. Nor had she complained when she was woken by the dawn patrol traipsing out into the gloomy morning. She had strode with quiet purpose to the freshkill pile, making a mental note to collect more bedding and move her nest away from the mouth of the den later.
Now she shared the plump raven she and Cardinalfang had caught yesterday with her sister. She hadn't yet decided what she would do today. Maybe she would gather bedding, or help Cliffwing reinforce the dens with the plants he'd brought back, or go check on the visitors. She hadn't had a chance to speak to them yet. Her pale gaze flicked to the temporary quarters where the visitors were staying, eyes lingering for a heartbeat on the pretty colorpoint molly. When the molly noticed her gaze she turned her face away a little too quickly, burying her muzzle in the raven's breast.
Embertail chewed, swallowed, and asked Jayleap, "How did the herb collection go?"
HERONFOOT out in the ravines / with dawn patrol (open!)
A creature of habit, Heronfoot rose with sun, his paws following the same routine he'd had for moons as he slipped from the shadows of the den into a grey morning awash with watery grey light. The overcast sky was laden with sodden clouds hinting at more rain to come. He scowled. At least they'd finished trail repairs before the drizzle started. The chill had seemed to seep through his fur and into his bones, staying with him through the night long after he'd dried his pelt and washed his paws of mud. He shivered, suppressing a cough, and headed out into the day with the dawn patrol in tow.
"We should check the borders first," he suggested. "Strengthen those markers." Everything was damp and soggy, the scent of TremorClan undoubtedly washed from the boundaries of their territory.

(Sounds good to me) Jayleap: Camp with Embertail TealravenJayleap had a love hate relationship with the rain. Sometimes. she adored the quiet that the rain brought and how everything seemed to transform once things got wet. Sometimes, the rain made walking a little more exciting considering you had to be careful not to slip. However, she wasn't a fan of getting her fur wet or how it made her feel sleepy. She turns her gaze to her sister when she spoke about the herb collection. "Absolutely boring, thankfully we weren't there for to long. I bet you had a better time than me."

EMBERTAIL camp / with jayleap
A ghost of a smile crossed Embertail's muzzle at Jayleap's frank answer. "I helped Cardinalfang bring down this raven." She prodded at the sleek black feathers, her chest warm with pride. She'd never been as good at hunting as she was fighting. Sneaking up on prey was different than stalking enemies. And with her conspicuous white fur and long, powerful strides... well, stealth wasn't exactly her strength. When she pounced on a vole or a mouse the force behind the blow sometimes crushed it completely. But not yesterday, and between the mouse and the raven, she was feeling pretty good about herself.
Embertail tore off another mouthful, savoring the rich flavor. Ravens were a rare treat. "Got any plans for today?" Still undecided herself, Embertail wondered if her sister would like company.
