Not so long ago, I saw a theory saying that Leafpool's lineage might be seen as illegitimate by ThunderClan and possibly even the other Clans due to her kits with Crowfeather being half-Clan cats. This would then mainly relate further to her grandkits, great-grandkits and so on via Lionblaze's offspring seeing as he is the only LeafCrow kit who went on to have kits of his own.
Which then might kind of explain as to why characters such as Fernsong, Sorrelstripe, Hollytuft, Spotfur, Snaptooth, Flywhisker, Bristlefrost, Thriftear, Flipclaw, Bayshine and Myrtlebloom don't ever express feeling pressured about being related to Firestar or even ever having any pressure put on them like the cats from Squirrelflight's so called legitimate kits and grandkits she has with Bramblestar, with both her and him getting regarded as almost Clan royalty at this point. With Sparkpelt, she was frequently compared to Firestar due to literally looking just like him while her brother Alderheart was more focused on wanting to impress and live up to both of their parent's legacy for a while.
I'm bringing this up now because of how Myrtlebloom specifically was fawning over Nightheart's relation to Firestar in the Sky preview despite literally being related to him as well. Seeing as Firestar is Myrtlebloom's great-great-grandfather after all (while also being Nightheart's great-grandfather).
Of course, this is simply a theory and it could very well just be that the writers and editors have either outright forgotten that Leafpool's descendants are related to Firestar too for obvious reasons and at least some of them should by that logic also have similar moments like Nightheart. Or they don't care/bother with showcasing it on that side of the Firekin family.

I can see that. It makes me hope that half-Clan stigma goes away sometime.

Smelly Crowfeather genes cancel out the Firestar genes. It all makes sense now.

I really like this theory!

I completely agree with this HC. I think it also helped Squilf's line to have carbon copy kits in Alder and Spark, so the lineage is visually more obvious as well. That line also has the weight of the Bramble/Tiger legacy.

Interesting! Though that's quite a bit of cats to be seen as illegitimate considering Leafpool's line makes up the bulk of Firekin.

This has me thinking that perhaps cats with a non Clanborn ancestor (Molewhisker, Cherryfall, Mousewhisker, Flaxfoot, Hopwhisker, etc) are seen as illegitimate as well? It seems weird to label Leafpool's line as that when Firestar's line is full of half-clan relationships like CloudBright or TigerDove. I mean, the literal progenitor of the lineage was in a half-Clan relationship himself (FireSand).
I feel it might have some backing since the Clans are already so xenophobic already, but just a theory.

Interesting HC, but I don’t know if it makes sense. Cloudtail and his kin get occasional (positive) remarks about being related to Firestar.
Also there’s Thornclaw’s whole rant about firekin neopotism in GV, a rant in which Lionblaze was included.

It's an interesting idea for sure, but yeah, I got to agree with Ambruhsef. If it was actually a thing, it definitely would have come up by now, and Thornclaw definitely wouldn't have included Lionblaze in his vent if that was actually a thing.
