From what I've seen, this book has received a lot of negative feedback. What was (at least) one aspect of the book you liked?

I know that I'm not really someone qualified to fully judge this book due not having read it properly (but will still allow myself to judge with certain aspects of it revealed on the spoiler thread and elsewhere). However, I did love seeing the comic (which got posted in full on the OC thread and a few pages on the Warriors Official Art tumblr blog as well). So yeah, the comic is a pro/good aspect this book has.
And the Firestar appearances. It's just always a delight for me to see my favorite orange kitty.

I do not like this book at all, however I greatly liked the manga at the end and I think Onestar giving Harestar a life for honesty was a great idea.

I haven't read the full book yet but the comic at the end was amazing. I really loved the talk between Onestar and Firestar.

Liked that they depicted Onestar as pathetic, the type of character to run from or excuse his problems, because that is how I interpret him when reading the main series. Even in the end, he thinks that Darktail was always going to turn out bad even if he was present in his son’s life, which just showcases how shitty Onestar is to me. lol The book made me appreciate Darktail and Smoke more, seeing their back stories (I did not care much for Darktail in AVoS, probably because his backstory was basically the plot twist). I felt so bad for Smoke when Onewhisker told her she couldn’t come with him to save his own reputation. Seeing Onestar later tormented with guilt and paranoid over this was great.
Also protective dad Breezepelt.
Edit: basically I liked reading about Onestar being mentally tortured.
Also there is a scene I really liked. All the clans attack the Kin, and it’s dark and stormy. Lightning strikes, and Onestar is able to see Darktail leaping towards him. Very cool and dramatic scene.

I love how they doubled down on Onestar being a selfish, pathetic coward. That's what makes him so interesting to me. I loved seeing his relationship with Whitetail (her being his apprentice literally means nothing) and how him leaving Smoke and Darktail literally haunted him the rest of his life. His interactions with his daughter and his grandkit is cute too.
I also really love seeing Mudclaw from the perspective of someone else and the reasons Tallstar changed his mind. Winds of Change was primarily from Mudclaw's bias POV so this SE shows us both sides of the story for that.
I just really love this idiot.

I really loved the comic; I've read it quite a few times now. I also liked Brushpaw and Tansypaw's time in WindClan & Onestar's leader ceremony.
