I've never had a problem with Berrynose. Sure, he was annoying, but other than that, I never really disliked him and thought how other characters reacted towards him was interesting and even entertaining sometimes, but that's just me. Other than that though, for me, Berrynose has always been one of those characters who were just kind of... there.
In terms of his development though, I think Berrynose has been growing as a character, but it just isn't all that noticeable, especially when compared to Bramblestar's Storm where it's actually pointed out in the beginning of the book.
After he became a father, it seemed like he became more concern with Clan matters. Even Jayfeather points out that having kits may have changed his bossy attitude in Fading Echoes. Aside from doing normal Clan activities like helping around camp and going on patrol (even leading one at one point), Berrynose also helps Dovepaw and Ivypaw improve on their hunting technique when he stands in for Lionblaze in NW, shows concern for Icecloud in SotM after she's rescued from falling into the tunnels, and even helps Squirrelflight organize patrols along with Brackenfur and Brightheart in TAQ.
Berrynose is also a background character, so of course we aren't going to see him all that much, but these small glimpses into his character after becoming a father should say something about him at least.

Nah- I don't mind him much either. He's just sorta there for me.

He's definitely maturing, but I don't believe he's good enough to be deputy. But I still don't like him.

Yeah, I think that he at least deserves an apprentice. In fact, considering how Berrynose's maturing was pointed out in Bramblestar's Storm, I'm now wondering why Bramblestar chose not to give Berrynose one.

Berrynose is ok to me. I do think he matured somewhat from being annoying.

Maybe he tries to act like the alpha male. Because of his tail. Maybe he is very sensitive about it.

He's okay. I don't hate him or love him. He's just there, like most background characters. Now, he did annoy me greatly in Dovewing's Silence, but not enough for me to just hate him. I do agree that he's grown up quite a bit since he was a kit and young warrior. Does he possibly have some growing to do? From the Dovewing's Silence stand-point, yes, a little. But he's not nearly as bad as he was.
