Detective Argyle arrived at the estate of the late Mr. Berns who had died an hour earlier. Brought by a phone call by a distressed servant saying he had simply died of heart attack while eating his dessert, a man with an otherwise clean bill of health from the town doctor and no history of heart disease in the family. Foul play was suspected.
