Once they were far away enough from camp, Frogshade stops to scent the air. He could smell some prey nearby and figured this would be a good place to start. "What do you smell?"

He had learned a few kittypet terms, as when he did run into kittypets when he was creating in the twolegplace, he was able to ask them what various things were, and a good percent of the time they knew what it was.

Sootmask retraced his steps to return to where he promised to meet the others at noon. The tom walked with visible discomfort, annoyed with such a lame catch. The tom knew he was going to be embarrassed with how he only caught a mouse while he just knew the two other warriors waiting for him caught more.
Sootmask dropped the small mouse he caught earlier in front of his paws. "I've only managed to catch a measly mouse," Sootmask looked at the other two in front of him with jealousy that they were able to catch so much prey smoothly, "Looks like you two caught plenty, however, so the clan should be pleased."
"Shall we head back?" Sootmask sighed as he picked up his mouse thinking of ways to improve his hunting skills. The gray warrior felt like an apprentice learning how to hunt all over again with his luck.

Mumblewhisker smiled at Sootmask. "You managed to get soemthing," she said. She was happy that he had managed to catch prey, even if it was only one mouse. "You will be helping to feed the clan well too! Every piece of prey is valuable." She could tell that he was upset with how he did, and was hoping to cheer him up. But she meant every word she said, as an apprentice she had been taught the importance of each piece of prey, as starting out she had been lucky to even bring back one piece, and her mentor had said the same to her.

Frogshade slowly follows after Beetlepaw content to let the apprentice do all the work. He planned to claim one of the catches as his. No one would know the different prey was prey no matter who caught it.
