Maybe it could take place far in the future of the current clans (or before OotS) and the canon storylines are legends/myths, kinda like Lionclan, Tigerclan, and Leopardclan? To this, I made the note about lore because in the recent arcs, a lot changed and imho, for worse. I would have SkyClan there, so perhaps really after AVOS with some tweaks. @ Midnight, see I have considered that before but Sand and I did one role-play where that happened and it left a bad taste in my mouth. |

These are some old ideas, we can use them as they are or maybe work on them to be a little different.
shadowing
A recently new addition, recently made warriors will be assigned to a mentor and their apprentice to shadow. They are to learn how to mentor the younger generation and get the experience of mentoring themselves. This also is used to determine who would thrive as a mentor and who lacks the patience. The warriors are expected to mentor the apprentices they were assigned to with the supervision of the actual mentor. Even if a warrior has shadowed, they must have their own apprentice before becoming deputy.
claw-moon tournaments
Often used to ease the minds of the Clan when times are troubled, the leader, deputy, and senior warriors host a competition held on claw-moon nights. It varies due to season and if one competition has been used recently. The most common time for this little tradition is in newleaf or greenleaf. The rules are made up a day in advance to keep the Clan interested. The competition could even be multiple small contests to keep everyone preoccupied. Swimming, fishing, hunting, or even scavenger hunts are used. If there is a spar, claws must be sheathed and any unsheathed swipes will end up in disqualification. The prize for winners also varies on what the leader and deputy are okay with.
the fallen-leaf hunt
The Clan divides into teams and tries to hunt the most before leafbare comes about. The winner gets bragging rights and first pick after the elders and queens. What is not eaten is stored for the harsh season ahead.
newleaf greeting
When newleaf finally comes, the cats of RiverClan host activities to celebrate the new season. Warriors and apprentices will stock up on food at dawn and the festivities begin at sunhigh. All patrols cease until moonhigh. Every year, a small group of warriors are chosen to come up with games for all members of the Clan. They have seven sunrises until they must announce the games. |
