Call of the forest

The train carrying Whitefiam lurched and lurchhed as it sped it's way across the American continent.Even the hardiest passengers began to feel seasick.
What no one knew was that the chief conduction engineer aboard was roaring drunk. He consistently ignored signs along the track and even committed a stop at an important junction.
The train approached a narrow curve.Oblivious to the need to slow down the drunken engineer kept his hand on full throttle as the train raced ahead.
DISASTER!!! The train jumped the track and several of the carriages overturned. Others cascaded down the steep hill.Passengers and crew all screamed in horror.
Amazingly the compartment containing Whitefoam's crate remained upright. However the impact of the derailment caused the sliding side door to burst open. Two slats on Whitefoam's cratealso shattered leaving enough room for the bewildered cat to crawl out to investigate what was now around him.
Stepping outside the train Whitefoam found view unlike anything he had ever seen in his previous confined kittypet life. A magnificent blue sky arched over him and a lovely carpet of green grass extended almost to the horizon where the cat saw the thick majestic trees of a great forest
"This is my chance" he thought. This seeming catastrophe for the Two legs is my liberation. I do not know what the future will bring. I do not know where I will find food shelter or comfort. I do not know if I will enjoy the company of other cats. But one thing is certain. I will never be an exploited show kittypet ever again!!!"
