Goosestar's age is getting the better of him. He loses a life quietly in his sleep, not even noticing his own passing. He complains to Sootshade about his aching joints and the medicine cat notes that he had been losing his apatite as of late. Shredcloud, who did not have a lot of experience being a deputy at all, begins dreading the inevitable death of the leader.

They were able to get the kits back without casualties since Troutclan didn't want anymore deaths on their side. There were originally four orphaned kits stolen, but due to the fact that Fireclan didn't have enough she-cats to take care of the kits, they loaded all of the orphans onto Darkclan, resulting in Darkclan receiving 10 kits in total.

Because the queens were all warriors who didn't have go through childbirth recently except for Lilacpelt, they all defended with ease. No one was killed, but all the queens ended up scarred. Hope and Meadow receive their clan names.

Since takin in all the new kits, DarkClan has become the largest clan and it has caused some of the other clans to see them as a threat- TroutClan and ValleyClan in particular. Their two leaders acted very aggressive to Shredstar during the gathering, goading him on by accusing DarkClan of trespassing to feed all their new mouths to feed. Shredstar becomes agitated but when a few warriors from all sides look ready to pounce, Shredstar stops the gathering and takes DarkClan home.
