wow I made Opalbranch more of a villain than I orignially planned, but I likt that for her. She uses the rules to her advantage, and is ambitious and manipulative enough to use her position in the Order of Honey to get what she wants from the other Clans. Enough that someone eventually has her assassinated for it.
I've been trying to get the Clans to have more conflict; they aren't supposed to be all nice all the time, though that is my default state. So I've been seeding rebellions and reasons for invasions.

I still haven't Officially changed any of the StoneClan stuff -> CreekClan. Reminder: (for me) StoneClan borders CLIFFCLAN to the west and is colored purple; they have no alliances currently and are fighting the WOLVES. CreekClan borders WHISTLECLAN to the east and has all the alliances and friendships; blue.

idk if yall have noticed but I'm at the point of name creation where I'm just shoving valid prefixes and suffixes together with no thought about if it works or sounds good. It just. Is. So we get Rushrose and Dawnraven and Mountainpounce. Which I like it's nice. I'm also trying to bring back some of the oldie suffixes like -fur -pelt -tail even -heart which I don't use a lot. Breathe some new life into em ya know

It has been decided: the current SparkClan is 143 members strong (+14 kits). That's a lot of cats, but they have three Clans still giving them food and a whole lot of territory over 3(4ish) camps soooo
I'm going to do a New Thing for SparkClan: Only the most important members will have bios on the actual sheet, the rest will be footnoted and linked to the draft page in their own post to reduce clutter. This will also allow every cat to have an easy reference which, eventually, will be necessary (hopefully!). I am currently recruiting artists to draw Official Refs off descriptions. You will be credited, tho dm me first and we'll talk about how they should be regulated
E: Pitayashadow (in north Camp, Healers) is the format the others will be in. Reference images will be added to the linked "details" page, as well as links to any short stories they are featured in. Perhaps a small family tree for each. Who knows.

Wow, nice work! Just noticed SparkClan up, love how each clan and camp has something special! Just wanted to know, is there another page for history and stuff? Been trying to search for them. And congrats on coming so far!

the historical figures are on the third or fourth post~ And be sure to click footnotes if there are any (marked in square brackets [1]) as those link to the public draft page that holds all of the extra bits I didn't want cluttering the page.
the actual history of the Clans needs to be rewritten (again) but between the historical figures I have now, it should paint a fairly complete picture of the biggest events. The only "big" thing I haven't touched yet is the Eclipse Beasts with SparkClan and the splitting of RiverClan into StoneClan and CreekClan; the Red Sickness, the Expansions, SnowClan, and the Order of Honey should be roughed out.
To be fair, a lot is still floating around in my head, it just takes time to shake it all out in a format that is comprehensible to other people.
And thank you!! SparkClan really is a bit special (I'm still a little intimidated by the sheer number of characters I'll have to make drama for) but it should be totally worth the payoff. And each camp fills a function, yes. It takes a lot of resources to split power like that, and SparkClan (Wrenfire) hesitates to do it often because of their history with the Petals. Some cats believe that CinderClan HeatherClan and WhistleClan are still SparkClan and want to unite them again (Wrenfire)... Others like the bubbles of power the divisions cause and are using it to further their own ambitions (Hawksight, Tinygaze, now Pitayashadow to some extent). I should have a few hours tomorrow to finish writing SparkClan's info page. Unlike SnowClan's, I have theirs pretty solidly mapped out already and so it's just putting it to paper.

SparkClan borders, camps, and military ranks are roughed out, to provide context to the character details I'm going to write. You'll note that most the "warriors" are in the main camp --most of them will split their time in shifts between warrior duties and fighting Eclipse Beasts in the Jeweled Claws, only the "resident" Claws are listed in the War Camp, while all others are put in the main Camp's list for simplicity's sake.

the Northern Outpost is filled with cats now!
I think I'll (slowly) be converting all the allegiances into this condensed format. Please give opinions on that~ Are the "footnotes" too annoying? Or is it more helpful to have the allegiances shorter like that? I know it would be easier for a casual reader to just scroll through and read them all straight on the page, and I don't want to scare those people off, but I think there's enough "dedicated" readers that they would click on the footnotes for details if they were interested. Once I start getting all the ref images up, I know this will be a better format, but that might not happen for some time yet...

Names are so difficult and so satisfying. Like. I wanted to use Tourmaline- cuz it's sick, but suffixes for that are just. Ick. I was torn between Tourmalinestripe and Tourmalineshine, so I went with Tourmalinebuzz instead (;

Someone took away their vote what. I'm so used to seeing the gold bars every time I go to add more cats and now there's just one. Either they came in here and intentionally (or accedentally ig; maybe they thought they didn't vote and tried to vote for the same thing again?) clicked the box, or they deleted account. RIP
The power structure of this Northern Outpost is getting SPICY. I mean, that's the lens I'm writing all the character descriptions for, so hopefully it'll be a good plot by the time I'm done detailing out all the members

Baby Jadedrop has Lore now (:
So how I'm gonna do this: the short story will both be posted on the #Lore thread where all my worldbuilding is databased, but it will ALSO be posted as a footnote on the footnote draft and linked directly to the character on the main page.

okay, so I officially swapped CreekClan and StoneClan. Everything on this thread (besides SkyClan's page; I'm working on that) should reflect this change. Remember, this is just their names. StoneClan is more apt for the Clan in which half their territory is rocky intrusions, and CreekClan is more apt for one that half their territory is streams and marsh

more cats. Healers and warriors are done for the main camp, and half the apprentices. Just queens, kits and elders to go and then I'm FINISHED. I did detail out Trefoilwhisker's character footnote a bit, since she's not technically part of the Clan, but is currently there on a longer-term ambassador's position between the Healers of SparkClan and the Order of Honey; SparkClan is usually very unwilling to share resources and information with the Order, so there's currently a small treaty in place that allows for a "swap" of Healers in 2 moon periods to help improve relationships between the two groups. Trefoilwhisker would be in the second rotation of swaps, and SparkClan is still reluctant about the whole treaty, only caving after literally YEARS of the Order pestering them about the free exchange of information and withholding the Secret Sea/Moon Temple from the rest of the Circle.

9 elders and ~10 gladiators and SparkClan is DONE
Terrorflash is the best fighter girl ever. And because she and the hubby were both edgy punks in high school, all their kids are edgy names too.

there ended up being 145 cuz I added an extra gladiator and I wanted to give even more drama groups, so I made there be a half-Beast litter (!!).
Thistlescar, before becoming Terrorflash's mate, was seeing an Eclipse Beast, but one far different than those mindless creatures. This one was in the shape of a cat, well mostly, and it could speak. Thistlescar, over the course of a year, saw this Beast several times, though it never fought the other cats and kept at a distance. He finally cornered it and tried to get it to tell him what was in the deep desert. But it couldn't, because it didn't know either. It was Created, like some of the Clan cats were. Anyways, Thistlescar believed he could reason with this cat-Beast, perhaps get it to talk with the other Beasts and stop the war.
He brought his brother and former deputy Sparkthorn with him during one of the meetings, and the cat-Beast snapped. The Beast killed Sparkthorn, and drained Thistlescar near death, but left him alive. A few moons later, after he'd recovered, Thistlescar saw the cat-Beast again on the top of a dune. He went to chase after it, but it disappeared, leaving three kittens instead. Kittens that were created from the mixing of the cat-Beast's soul and the essence it had stolen from him and Sparkthorn. The two she-kittens could pass as normal, and he named these two Bloodsong and Ichorpetal. The last was unmistakably mutant: eyes pupilless golden disks, plated spikes down its back, a bone-white horn curled around its ear. He called this kit Secret, and has hidden him away in the deep desert, away from SparkClan.
Bloodsong stayed with SparkClan and her father. She found out about Secret as a young warrior, and knows of her own heritage. Ichorpetal, however, disliked fighting the Beasts and joined the Healers. She's the cat that was sent to the Order of Honey as part of the treaty, in return for Trefoilwhisker. She always felt distant from her kin and the secrets they kept from her.

slowly slowly getting through the details of these cats. Got five done yesteday. This format also allows me to give each one a small "plotline" along with their description and personality: either history, current relationships with other cats or conflicts, or goals. I like that about this format a lot. Hopefully, reading through them all will give an in-depth big picture of the Clan's current politics from the POV of character relationships and goals.

loooooooook how CLEAN SkyClan's allegiances are now (; They're all footnoted properly! Now that I have more space, I'll probably go back through someday and give them more details about their personal lives, but for now, I'll keep focusing on SparkClan's.

yes, these will continue to get longer and longer. Some of them I might shorten a little (the early length is me toying with personality traits until a good "main" trait sticks out for me to build on) but I kinda like the tone of the last few.
Also, new poll. Do yall like the footnotes? I'm finding them helpful from my side (even if they were under spoiler collapses, I still have to sort through the rawtext in the code, which is frustrating when there's too much bulk), but if they're extremely frustrating to use on the reader's part, I can find some middle ground solution.
+ Crimsonthunder bio. She's everyone's old aunt.

+ waxcrest. He's a bit of an ass but he will get a slight redemption arc I promise. For now, he's still hasn't realized he can't just act like he did when he was a childhood bully figure and expect other cats to look up to him for it.
I need to come up with the "younger" generation cats; I'm guessing there was just a group that graduated into being warriors, perhaps five of them + three others that were senior apprentices when these guys were training. That group will be:
Weaselflight (healer) Spiceleap Waxcrest' Hollowshade' Sloefang Robinshine- Mesastripe-
With the Citrusgale/Lemonshimmer/Limefleck trio being slightly older. I like that I think. (Marks = sibs) (I think I want Wax and Hollow to be cousins with Cottonwing)

+Vineripple your chaotic good uncle
+Prairiescorch long, but being Healer Prime, she has a lot of politics. She's also just super cute okay <3 A perfectionist that holds high standards and is trying to learn how to adapt on the fly.

+Grainpaw She's a spy for the Order of Honey !!!
They're getting longer and longer and yet containing less information about the character traits and more backstory. Which isn't bad but. eep.
+Cobrastone A fairly average but respected senior warrior.
+Crookedmask She's good. I can't make everyone main characters, but even these "average" warriors have a story.
+Scorpionleap She and her sister are good warriors, even if they live in their own little world more than the real one.

A masterlist of insect prefixes, from normal to weird:
hi if you don't know me I really like bugs like. A lot. And I think bug names are underused, but that kinda makes sense because they are challenging to make sound good and there is negative connotation with some of them. Here's a list of bug names I've used, or would be interested in using.
CANON Moth Ant Beetle Maggot Cricket Bee Bumble Fly (which I personally don't like) Midge (which I didn't know of, but its pretty okay) Spider
COMMON Hornet (all hymenopterans are good) Hive Butterfly Locust (also a plant) Bug Chrysalis Hopper (grasshopper but also planthoppers and such can be called this) Flutter Buzz Mantis Hover Crane (also a bird) Termite Mosquito Gnat
LITTLE WEIRD Katydid Stilt Strider Skimmer Thrip Trig Insect Mite
The "gross" names Roach Worm Centipede
The Compound names *(that I can see working; people have to be able to keep this together, so Butterfly works but Lacewing probably doesn't) Dragonfly Damselfly Stonefly Ladybug Firefly Grasshopper Caddisfly Spittlebug (maybe??) Stinkbug/Shieldbug
Let me know thoughts and/or good additions to this list.

time for the adds today. I try to get four done a day; that still will take me over a month do do the whole list!
+Burrowpelt They are a fanatic for the Jade Claws and Nightlion, which is offputting to the other Healers, though they are very motivated so it's hard not to respect them for that.
(Speaking of, the placement of apprentices and healers might get flopped around a bit as I move cats into the Claws. ALSO the Outpost might have a lot of cats moving around; cats there need to be likely to meddle with politics and dislike the Claws, and right now they're weighted the opposite way. ALSO ALSO Nimbuspaw was flopped to be Wrenfire's apprentice, as that would make for more drama. and we like drama, especially family drama. which Crystal Violet Tourmaline Nimbus very much have family drama)
+Windypaw He tried to be a Healer but was puzzled too quickly by things he wasn't explicitly taught. He's smart, but no wisdom.
(I only am making one post per day and editing them, so hi from the future! I wonder if I can do 16 between tonight and tomorrow and get us down to 100)
