"Ok," Aoi replied. She resumed her walking pace back in the direction of home and glanced at her watch once more. It was just barely early evening by now, and the western sky was beginning to look light orange from the sun about to set.

"Alright~" Mitsuo sang as Nikita approached him. He reached into the closet and pulled out a towel which he slung around his neck as Nikita approached him. He flashed her a smile, and then without a moment's warning scooped her up in his arms and waltzed out of the office carrying her bridal style (again, couldn't resist). "We're ready~"
Mizuki looked at the two of them for a moment. "I think doing that will get us more attention than if she were to wear a captain's haori," she said, attempting at a joke as she turned around to close the office door.

Aoi took her house key out of her pocket and unlocked the door. She slipped her shoes off and waited at the door for Corynn to enter before closing it behind them. "Mom, we're back!" she called. "We have a question for you!"
"Welcome home, I'll be right down~" came the response from upstairs.

Nikita watched him quietly and laughed at his goofy smile once more. Though suddenly he was near to her and whisking her into his arms. She gave a small cringe though blushed brightly and smiled in an embarrassed though enjoyable sort of way. Her hands wrapped around his haori as if she were afraid he would drop her, which perhaps in the back of her mind she was. As they appeared before Mizuki she blushed once more and her eyes flicked to the side. However, at the fellow captain's joke, a more relaxed smile moved to her lips and she laughed in return to Mizuki. Now, relaxing a bit more in Mitsuo's grasp as well. |

"Shall we head off then?" Mizuki asked, looking to the other two.
"Ready as I'll ever be~" Mitsuo replied with confidence. He glanced down at Nikita and blushed a little when her face was closer than he thought it would be. "Uhm, hold on tight!" he said to Nikita after clearing his throat. "I'll try to keep the trip as smooth as possible," he added before the two shinigami took off into the air.

Aoi's mother shuffled down the stairs a moment later and invited the two girls into the dining room. "Now what was it you wanted to ask me?"
Aoi glanced at Corynn. "She found a piece of paper with a weird symbol on it, I thought you'd know what it is..."

Nikita smiled up to him, noting his blush as well and returning the emotional flare. Then she nodded quietly in return, "Let's get going." she chimed in excitement then. Her grip tightened onto him a bit more as they began off and she took in a small gasp. Her face tucked against his chest for a moment at the first jolt forward. Though soon it became a familiar sensation, something like her own travelling. Her hand relaxed to just resting to his chest now and she looked out from where she was held to his body and smiled contently.

The two captains jumped from rooftop to rooftop, both feeling thankful there weren't many others out and about at this time. Mizuki disappeared for a moment to drop her report off at the first division but rejoined with Mitsuo and Nikita soon enough. Every now and then Mitsuo would look down at Nikita to make sure she was alright, and judged by the content look on her face that everything was alright. Pretty soon the small building came into view and they both landed softly in front of the entrance. "Here we are~" Mitsuo announced. "Ready to stand?" he then asked Nikita.

Aoi took out the slip of paper and set it on the table in front of her mother. Her mother pulled it a bit closer and slipped on a pair of reading glasses to look it over. No sooner had she slipped the glasses on and her eyes widened. "Where did you find this?" she asked the two girls.
"In that old house we asked you about... why, what is it?" Aoi asked, raising an eyebrow.
"This is a shinigami mark," her mother replied, her friendly smile from earlier gone.

Nikita felt that familiar sense of speed and swiftness as they moved, though this was different, slower of course, but a little more enjoyable as well. She remained happily relaxed to Mitsuo as they continued towards the spring. Then as they landed she nodded lightly up to him and slipped from his arms carefully. Her hand held to his sleeve for a moment or two as she steadied her sore legs and took in a careful breath. "I'm alright." she told him then as she stood up and looked head towards the spring. Rather excited to finally get cleaned up.

She also proceeds to cross her arms. First the find a picture with possibly a family member of hers wearing a Quincy necklace and this paper with the straight marking on it. Not to mention the hollow attack that happened right after they found the newspaper. She sharply breathes in and looks at Aoi with a look that is a mix of worry and thoughtfulness. |

Mitsuo watched her for a moment and then smiled when Nikita gave the ok. "Good to hear~" he said in response.
"Alright, let's head in," Mizuki said, already starting to walk inside. "Nikita, our side is on the right." She gave Mitsuo a look and a nudge to the side as he started to follow her in. He snickered, but the look on Mizuki's face said she thought otherwise.
"Heehee, I'm just kidding~" Mitsuo said before disappearing into the men's side.
As Mizuki entered the women's side, the steam from the baths could already be felt after only a few steps. "I am very much looking froward to this," she sighed.

"I thought it looked like one..." Aoi murmured, staring down at the paper.
It was Aoi's mother who took up answering Corynn's question. "Shinigami are also called soul reapers, they are spirits that assist in bringing other spirits to the afterlife," she explained.
"They also fight hollows," Aoi added, looking to Corynn. "Except they actually spare the things."

Aoi shrugged. "Technically they purify the hollows before sending them off to Soul Society... but I still think it's wrong. Hollows kill spirits without a second thought, they don't deserve that kind of treatment," she said, clenching one fist.
"We may not agree with it, but it's all for the sake of balance," Aoi's mother chimed in, speaking a bit more gently than her daughter.

It's strange...as soon as Aoi and i found the newspaper that lead us to ask where the house was it attacked." Corynn says though choose not to explain how she couldn't really see them. Yet. She shivers when that word crosses her mind. |

"That was strange timing," Aoi agreed, crossing her arms and nodding.
Aoi's mother looked worriedly between the two girls at the news about the hollow that attacked them. "I'm worried this may be more dangerous than you thought... maybe you should leave it alone for a while," she said, looking mainly at Aoi. "You know what your father would say about this."
"It's fine, the hollow was pretty weak compared to the menos the other day," Aoi insisted. She glanced at Corynn. "We'll be fine. There weren't even any spirits at the house."

"Not everyone can step the boundaries of time like you." "Though that paper seemed out of place especial after seeing the picture of the person wearing something similar to your necklace. The only person to have supposedly died in the house was the brother I was named after." She says though mainly talking to herself and looks up remembering one of the papers she had looked at had her brothers name on it. "Toshida. Does that name mean anything?" She asks while looking at Aoi's mom. She knows that she should leave it alone but she wanted to know what was going on with her biological family. Not knowing of the soon shock of her brother being a soul reaper. |

"Everything in that house was old and dusty, but this paper looks pretty new," Aoi said, adding onto what Corynn shared.
Aoi's mother knit her eyebrows close as she gave the name some thought. Eventually she shook her head. "I'm sorry, the name doesn't sound familiar to me," she said, looking a little deflated. She pushed a strand of her long brown hair behind one ear and looked at the paper once more, frowning slightly. She may have fought against many a hollow in her younger days, but nowadays she spent most of her time being a mom. Anything new with Soul Society wouldn't always reach her ears. She let out a short sigh and looked at the two girls once again. "You might try asking your father, Aoi," she added reluctantly.

"Yeah, it does," Aoi replied with a nod. She had just rested her head on the table when the front door of the house slammed shut. "That's my dad. Just a warning, he's a bit scary," she whispered to Corynn just before her father walk into the room.
Her father simply nodded to all three of them at the table before setting his briefcase down in the corner of the room. He adjusted the wire-framed glasses on his face and looked to Aoi. He opened his mouth to speak but she responded before he could.
"Hollow by the library, took care of it," Aoi said, sounding as if this was a daily practice of theirs. "Uhm, dad, we have a question for you. Corynn, what was the name you mentioned to us?" she asked, glancing to her friend.

Aoi's father looked down at Corynn and frowned. "Toshida," he repeated in his deep voice. He repeated it softly a few more times and then it came to him. "Toshida, captain of the thirteenth division I believe. He's relatively new to the position," he said, a sour look on his face.
"Ah~ That's why I didn't recognize the name," Aoi's mother chimed in.
"So he's a shinigami?" Aoi asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Yes."

Aoi's father sighed and looked at her. "You wanted to know about the name so I told you, it is up to you what you do with that information. "I believe the full name is Toshida Ichiro," he added before leaving the room to change out of his work clothes.
Aoi waited until her father was out of earshot before speaking. "Didn't you say that was your brother's name or something?"

"I'm pretty sure I won't need it," Shigeo replied. There was no need to meet the Captain again. Finding him wouldn't be hard in the town, and Shigeo's job wouldn't require him to need to see the Captain unless he had something to report, in which case he would only need to send a message.

Ichiro sighs before shrugging, "if you believe so then fine." He says he didn't feel like explaining that he had to hide his spiritual energy while here. 'The length that something can hold a grudge.' He thinks to himself. |

"If that's it, I'll head off," Shigeo said. He disliked being around the Captain, only because it meant that he couldn't slack off. And until he was notified that a hollow was in the area, that was exactly what he was planning to do.
