Hotaru shook his head. "No, you're right. We mainly take care of messages that don't get sent by a shinigami, like those phones that shinigami take when they go to the human world. We also have the jigokucho, I've been studying them recently," he explained. He looked down fondly at the black wings fluttering in the jar. "Now they're all back safe and sound~" he added after noticing Takeshi approaching them.

Eiichi sat down on the couch. "That must have been a little difficult," He said. "Practically living two lives." He shook his head. "Still, you are lucky to actually be able to fight the hollows. For me, it's difficult to see and know what's going on, but not be able to do anything about it."

Aoi nodded, she had felt that way at times. Between studying for school and training to fight, she hardly had had time for anything else growing up, her lack of friends and hobbies to show for it. "That sounds more difficult than what I went through," she said, looking at Eiichi with a quiet chuckle. "Have you ever tried any training? Maybe you have some latent power or something?"

Eiichi just laughed. "I wish. But I'm pretty sure that if I had one, I would have discovered it around the time that Eiji did." He shrugged. "It doesn't matter. As hard as it is, one of us running around killing things is enough."

Aoi laughed as well, "I guess so," she said. She sat back and pushed her headband back a bit, furrowing her eyebrows a bit before speaking. "Well, I'm glad I met a couple more people who can also see spirits. I'm kind of surprised we haven't run into each other before." However, on second thought, she wasn't so surprised. She never really spoke to anyone in or outside of school, and when fighting hollows she always got the job done as fast as she could.

Eiichi tried not to laugh at that. "Aoi, we are literally in the same class," He said. "We technically run into each other all the time. As for the whole fighting hollow thing, Eiji doesn't get involved unless he really wants to. If he even saw you fighting at all, he would have left without a second thought."

Aoi's face flushed a little pink. "Well, then you should know I don't talk to people much," she retorted. Then she looked a little confused. "But, Eiji fought today... did you convince him or something?" she asked, partly joking.

Eiichi smiled. "I'm usually the convincing factor," He laughed. "Eiji doesn't exactly want me to die, so it was a simple observation to find that he fights whenever I'm in possible danger."

Heiwa nodded slowly. She supposed that made sense. She looked over as Takeshi walked up to them. That had taken a lot less time than she thought it would. She supposed they got lucky with how quickly they had found them. At least she would still have time to finish her walk before she had to return to her division. Plus she'd gotten in a cardio workout, as well as practice with her Shunpo. She wasn't a master yet, but she was getting close.

"That's understandable," Aoi chuckled. Well more than understandable it was rather obvious now, Aoi thought as she gave herself a mental flick on the forehead. "What's it like, having a sibling?" she asked, the question suddenly coming to mind.

Hotaru grinned after the last butterfly was secured in the jar. "Thanks, both of you!" he beamed, looking between the two lieutenants. He held the jar a little higher and counted the insects once more, just to make sure.
"Now before you leave, what was that you were saying about repaying us?" Takeshi brought up, grabbing Hotaru's shoulder. "I'd say we did a pretty good job catching those things."
"Um, well, is there... anything you want me to do?" Hotaru asked, shying away from Takeshi's grasp.

Heiwa sighed softly. She couldn't think of anything she would want from Hotaru or the Twelfth Division. She turned and started to walk away. "I don't actually need anything. I'll be going now." If he came up with a way to repay her, she wouldn't refuse, but she didn't want anything in particular right at this moment. If Takeshi wanted something so badly, he could have it.

Eiichi looked at Aoi, surprised by the question. "Well, huh, I guess it's kind of difficult to explain," He said. "I mean, it's nice, because you have someone who understands you and wants to protect you, but it's also hard, because you want to protect them as well. Plus, there's the fights, which could be from small arguments to full on disagreements, and then you end up not talking to each other for a while..."

"Are you sure?" he asked Heiwa and then looked to Takeshi. "Do not want anything either? I can give you, um... oh! We're working on making new gigai! I can give you one as soon as they're done!" he insisted. Takeshi stifled his laughter before looking down at Hotaru with a smirk. "I think I'll pass on that. However, the next time there's a pile of papers on my captain's desk I'll let you know, sound good?" he teased. |

Eiichi smiled. "No, it's okay. Anyways, I'm probably not the best person to ask, since I'm brother's with Eiji of all people, and that makes things a bit complicated," He replied. Right after he said that, there was a muffled noise in the next room, revealing that Eiji had been listening to their entire conversation.

"Yeah," Eiichi replied with a smile. "I'm sure he's fine. Most likely he tripped over something he left on the floor." They may share a room, but Eiji's side was always cluttered.
Ameko was in the lab, running a few tests. She was double checking the research to make certain it was accurate, as she did not like mistakes in the conclusions of her experiments. During the process, mistakes were accepted. After it's finished, not so much.

Aoi nodded, and flexed her finger a bit. The soreness was fading away and she could actually move them now. "Wow, I didn't realize this much time had passed," she murmured, catching a glimpse at the time on her watch. She pulled her cell phone out of her jacket pocket and frowned, surprised neither of her parents had called wondering where she was. "Thanks for letting me rest here, I doubt I would've made it all the way home if I hadn't," she said to Eiichi with a smile.

"Well, if that's what you want in return, then ok," Hotaru said to Takeshi, dead serious. "Now I should go take these back before my captain notices. And thanks again!" he added. With a quick bow to each lieutenant Hotaru shuffled back in the direction of squad twelve, the scratching of his sandals against the ground echoing down the street.
Takeshi watched him go, not bothering to tell Hotaru that he had only been joking. He just sighed and shook his head.

"No problem," Eiichi replied. "It's the best thanks I had for a savior of the town." He glanced down at her phone. "If you need to go, you can," He told her. "But feel free to stay as long as you need to. It's nice to actually have company over." He looked towards the door to the twin's room. "At least there's someone to talk to who won't SHUT THEMSELVES INTO THEIR ROOM!" He raised his voice. At this, there was a bang on the door from Eiji throwing something at it, and causing Eiichi to smile a little.

Heiwa shook her head. "I'm sure." She watched him go, then looked up at Takeshi. "You were not serious about making him do your captain's paperwork, were you?" She didn't care, she just thought that was a bit much. She began to walk, almost inviting Takeshi to walk with her without saying anything.

Aoi laughed at the brothers' interaction and stood up. She hesitated, taking a glance at her schoolbag sitting on the floor. "Actually, now that you mention it, there were a couple homework problems I had questions on..." she said, slowly looking over to Eiichi. The phone went back into its pocket. "As long as they haven't called me, I'm good," she added.

Hotaru came up to the gate to the twelfth division and slowly pushed it open. He quietly tiptoed his way to the research facilities and opened the doors to go in. Before taking a step inside, however, he poked his head in and moved it from side to side to check if the coast was clear. "Good, looks like captain isn't here," he whispered before netering.

Takeshi rested his hands behind his head, and began to follow after Heiwa. "Hey, he was the one who offered. And you heard him, he didn't seem to mind it at all," he replied. He wore a triumphant smirk on his face as he walked, taking long leisurely steps. "I'll probably just have him deliver it or something."

Eiichi nodded. "Alright, let me grab my notes," He said, moving away to get his bag. Grabbing it, he rifled through it and pulled out everything he needed. It was quick since Eiichi was extremely organized, the complete opposite of his brother.
Ameko chose that moment to go check on the other research facilities. Exiting her own lab, she walked briskly, her red hair flying behind her. She didn't pass many of her division, which caused her to glare at a few of them, as she was expected to see them working harder than she did.

She pulled it out and set it on the table before getting out a pencil as well. After flipping through it her eyes scanned down the page until she found the question. "It was this one," she said.

Hotaru made his way down the hallways, nodding to any other shinigami he passed. His arms were wrapped tightly around the jar of jigokucho, his focus evenly split between not dropping it and making it back to his work area without running into the captain. He hoped she was still working on her experiments.

Heiwa shook her head, debating on whether or not to pull out her book. "You could have just walked away like I did." She glanced up at him. "You also didn't have to stay and help when I stopped you." She didn't actually know Takeshi very well. She was a relatively new lieutenant. The last one had an...unfortunate accident. She still didn't know the details. All she knew was she went from third seat to lieutenant without explanation one day.
