Mizuki waved her hand dismissively. "It was not for anything serious," she said quickly to dispel any worries. "At the time, the shinigami who was supposed to be on duty in our precinct had been injured and was unable to cross over. Arakida? I believe he was sent to squad four for a while... Well, I asked the captain-commander if I could go in his stead."

Aoi nodded. "Yeah, I hit a hollow there once and it went crazy. I'm just hoping this thing will be as sensitive as the smaller ones when it comes to that," she explained.

Hikari nodded. She remembered the name. It hadn't been that long ago, but they also hadn't had to stay long. They had been injured, perhaps enough to not continue patrol, but nothing too serious. "I see...Though wouldn't you want to send another Shinigami besides yourself?" She tilted her heard with the question. She probably wouldn't go if there was someone else that could handle it. Others could use the experience after all. She held her hands behind her back now, needing something to do with her hands all of a sudden. Perhaps it was from doing so much paperwork. It felt odd not using her hands at an almost constant rate.

Mizuki flashed an embarrassed grin, and scratched the back of her head. "Perhaps it was a bit selfish of me, but I just love observing the Living World so much," she said with a sigh. "I did ask my fellow squad members, to make sure they were all fine with it. It had been a very long time since I had a chance to cross into that world."

The blast from the cannon hit right in the lower edge of the hole and the menos let out a series of loud screeches. It hunched over and clutched at the gaping open space with its hands before letting out yet another shriek.
"That sounded effective to me," Aoi commented. She shook out her hand and stretched her fingers before taking aim at the hole, waiting for it to move the hands away. "Maybe one of us could hit the mask, and the other hit the hole?"

Hikari smiled, nodding in understanding. Now that she thought about it, she wouldn't mind visiting the Living World. It had been a long time for her as well. She had a feeling that it had probably changed quite a bit since the last time she'd been there. "What is it like now? If you don't mind me asking that is..." She doubted that she would ever have a chance to actually visit the Living World in her position. As captain of the Fourth Division, she was rarely needed. Especially if the Shinigami in her squad could handle everything.

"Hm, where do I start?" Mizuki murmured, looking up at nothing in particular. "It was quite different from the last time I visited, the humans all looked so busy, rushing around everywhere. It was quite fascinating, all the fancy new things I saw. There were a lot more buildings as well, they look much different from the barracks here in Seireitei," she went on, starting to ramble a bit.

Hikari blinked in surprise. "Interesting...I wouldn't mind seeing it for myself...I doubt the Captain-Commander would allow me to go to the Living World however..." She sighed softly. She also wouldn't want to go alone. She was a captain, but probably the least dangerous out of all of them. Even some of the lieutenants were stronger than she was. She just happened to be the strongest in Division Four. She wished she wasn't in this situation, but she was. There was nothing she could do about it either.

"There's not hurt in asking, the worst thing they can do is say no," Mizuki said with a chuckle. She certainly knew that for sure, having received that exact answer from the Captain-Commander many times in the past when she'd bug both him and her previous captain about the human world. "We can only hope that the next time either of us go it won't be for a bad reason."

Hikari nodded in agreement. "Going of my own free will would certainly be more comforting than being ordered..." She shrugged a bit. "I might as well try I suppose...You're right, it won't hurt..." She smiled, though it wouldn't be seen behind her scarf. She didn't know if it would be alright to ask, but she might as well try. "Mizuki...if I managed to get permission, would you mind coming with me?" It was obvious this was one of Hikari's truly shy moments. Mostly obvious by the fact she'd gotten quieter, to the point Mizuki would have to strain to actually hear what she had said.

I didn't quite catch the end of what you said..." she asked, feeling a bit embarrassed. She had an idea of what Hikari had asked, but wanted to make sure.

Hikari blushed lightly, obviously embarrassed about her shyness and quiet voice. "Oh...well...I was wondering if you would come with me to the Living World if I got permission..." She managed to raise her voice a bit, probably enough for Mizuki to understand her this time. As long as she was listening closely. She would understand if the other captain didn't want to. She was probably busy. Besides, she was a captain herself. Her asking for help was unheard of, at least among the Shinigami below them. They were captains, they didn't need help.

Mizuki smiled and clapped her hands together. "If I am able to take the time away, I would love to go with you. It's always more fun when you have someone else to travel with," she said, this time able to hear Hikari more clearly. "I have pretty understanding shinigami in my squad, I am sure they won't have a problem with me going once more."

"Sounds good to me," Aoi said. She checked her fingers before creating the next arrow, they were turning increasingly red. This just means I need more training, she said to herself. "Let's hope we finish this thing off sooner rather than later." She released the arrow, aimed for the same spot on the nose as before, and saw a few more cracks appear.

Hikari smiled brightly, even if it couldn't be seen, a relieved feeling almost oozing out of her. "Thank you Mizuki. That means a lot to me." She then nodded. "The Shinigami in my division have actually been begging me to give them work. They would probably be happy if I left for a bit so they could take all the work for themselves." She giggled softly. "Sometimes being in a time of peace becomes boring. Not that something exciting would necessarily be a good thing."

Eiji hoped they could last, firing off another shot into the hollow's hole and moving away when the menos reacted. He didn't need to be caught by an attack. Just one could kill him.

"I can agree with you on that," Mizuki said with a smile. She straightened out her haori and folded her arms. "I'm sure my squad will be in a similar position once I finish the pile of papers on my desk. If it wasn't for all of that I'd be heading over to the academy to look for potential new members," she murmured, glancing over in the school's direction.

Aoi kept a somewhat steady rate of fire with her arrows, but they were getting steadily smaller with each shot. On the bright side, the distracted hollow was unable to protect its face, and the cracks on the nose were getting larger. She glanced down at the schoolbag at her side, she still had four seele schneider hilts in there. She wouldn't be able to use her newest technique, but they'd still help a lot.

Hikari nodded a bit. "I can understand that..." She followed Mizuki's gaze towards the school. "I wouldn't mind finding some recruits either..." It wasn't that they were running low in any way, but it certainly wouldn't hurt to pull some new Shinigami out of the academy and get them working in the Divisions. "Though we should finish our paperwork first I suppose..." She then smiled and looked back at Muzuki. "Also go see the Living World first...it's certainly been some time..." She wondered if she should go right then, or actually figure out what to say first. She was going to have to convince the Captain-Commander to actually allow her to go after all.

Dodging to the side as the hollow seemed to become focused on him, Eiji slipped. Falling to the ground hard, he lay stunned for a moment, before pushing himself up. He then froze, realizing he had dropped his pen when he had fallen.

Just thought I'd let you all know, I'm planning out the next plot~ It's gonna be the one where the science division starts visored experimentation again and then everything goes wrong, sound good?]]
"Ah, yeah, the paperwork is the most important. I've only turned it in late once, but once was enough...the captain-commander is scary when angry. I learned right then just how important those pieces of paper were," Mizuki said with a laugh. She let out a nostalgic sigh, that had happened way back when she first became a captain. She shook her head, it sure had been a while since then.

Aoi held the silver metal piece to her bow when she saw Eiji fall in the corner of her sight. "You ok?" she asked, her bow dissolving. Soon she just held the hilt, slowly building up the blade of reishi as a new idea formed in her head.

She'd never been so scared before in her life, not even when facing down hollows. "We should probably get back to that soon if we want to go to the Living World...I think I'm getting close to finally being finished actually...I just needed a breath of fresh air..."

She brushed a strand of stray black hair behind one ear and put a hand to her chin. "Time to get back, pour myself a cup of tea, and fill out the rest of that stack... maybe if I'm lucky my lieutenant will offer to help," she added with a slight smirk.

Hikari giggled again. "I wish my lieutenant was eager to help me with my paperwork...Sadly they only tend to bring more..." She bowed a bit to the other captain. "It was nice speaking to you MIzuki...I hope we can do it again soon...preferably in the Living World..." She smiled up at her. Though her mouth was hidden, her eyes said it all. "Goodbye..." She turned to head back to her Division barracks.

Aoi held out Seele schneider, now starting to look like a glowing sword, and wondered why they hadn't seen any shinigami appear by now. She then brought a second one and charged it up as well, releasing as much of her spirit power as was left to try and boost it along since they were running out of time. "Eiji, I'm going to need your help," she said, reforming her bow and setting one hilt on the drawstring.

"Bringing more paperwork does seem to be a special skill of theirs," Mizuki chuckled. She gave Hikari a slight bow and waved goodbye to the captain. "It was nice speaking with you as well. Until next time," she said before continuing down the path to her barracks. Usually she was pretty focused when it came to doing the paperwork, but she had just come back from the Living World, and it always took her a while to get back into work mode after one of her trips.

Looks: Shigeo is 6'0, with light tan skin. His hair is a light, shimmering blue, pin strait and falls past his shoulders. His eyes are a deep brown. He is muscular, with strong features. He wears his shihakusho with the sleeves rolled up, so his arms are visible. He looks like he is about in his twenties, though his true age is unknown.
Personality: Shigeo is usually described as a flirt. He will flirt with almost any woman he comes across without the hint of shame. He can be lazy and absentminded, and will easily become distracted. Due to this, he hasn't reached his full potential, instead falling behind those who, if he had tried, he could have been above. He is arrogant, completely full of himself, and acts as such around women, wanting to show off. He also refuses to fight any female, up until his life depends upon it. While he acts differently around women, he is self-obsessed and selfish. He doesn't actually care about others, and only acts that way for appearance.
Combat Abilities (zanpakuto, resurrection, etc): His zanpakuto is named Daten-shi, and it's shikai form is summoned by the command of 'Spread your wings, Daten-shi!' The zanpakuto then takes the form of a double bladed battle ax with a long handle. The weapon's color is aquamarine, and the blade shimmers like water. The special ability of the shikai form is to make water erupt from the ground wherever the blade cuts into it.
History (optional): Shigeo doesn't have much of a history. He was always lazy, procrastinating on everything he did in the academy and receiving low scores. When he passed, none of the divisions seemed to care if he joined, except for squad 2, 11, and 12, none of which wanted him as he didn't fit their criteria. He joined the 13th division, and caused shock when he proved that he was better than expected, though still having a pretty average skill base.

Looks: Hiroki stands at about 5'1. He looks young, with messy black hair and bright oak brown eyes. He is thin and not muscular, and though he is stronger than he looks, he believes that he is weak, as his appearance makes others think that at first. His hair shines, as he has to make sure he is always clean, and falls to his chin. He wears the traditional shinigami clothing, though sometimes he will wear something different, especially when working on healing someone.
Personality: Hiroki is extremely self-conscious and unsure of his own abilities. He majorly puts himself down, believing that he is not very powerful. He is the only person keeping himself from moving forward, and he does not realize it. Despite this, he is surprisingly upbeat, and is always trying to help others. Hiroki won't let others say that they give up or that they aren't strong, even though he does the same thing himself. He tries to be the first one there by the side of someone in need.
Combat Abilities (zanpakuto, resurrection, etc): His zanpakuto is a normal sword. He has only accomplished the shikai form, which can be summoned by the order, 'Bloom, Hana no Tsuru!' It's shikai form is a long whip, and where it touches a flower blooms. The flower can drain the energy of the person little by little, so Hiroki's shikai is best used in a long battle. He is good at kido, though he rarely uses it due to rarely fighting.
History (optional): Hiroki and Asa were good friends in the academy. She tutored him a bit when he was struggling, and so he returned the favor and helped her with kido. He wasn't surprised when she became a captain, though he was a little envious, until he became a lieutenant, to his surprise.

Looks: A more mature woman, Ameko has pale pink hair which flows past her waist. Her hair is usually down, and is pin straight, but when she is working she will pull her hair back. Ameko's skin is white, and she has an hourglass figure. Her right eye is a deep brown, almost black, while her left eye is red. Her left eye is a replacement for one she had lost.
Personality: Ameko is serious about her job. She doesn't have the crazy mad scientist appearance that was evident in the past captains of the squad. It is thought that her attitude was the main reason she was chosen as captain. However, while she doesn't appear to be a crazy mad scientist, she does have a terrifying aspect to her. The thing is, Ameko is prepared to do whatever she wishes if she believes that it would truly help. This belief means she always has a reason for what she is doing, and can easily convince others that it is the right thing to do. She can seem extremely inhumane with some of the things she decides to do, and even if she sacrifices someone, she has a good reason for it. Being very intelligent, she doesn't let her squad get away with anything she considers wrong.
Combat Abilities (zanpakuto, resurrection, etc): Her zanpakuto is named Chi no Ame, and is called by the command, 'Pour out all, Chi no Ame!' In it's shikai form, her zanpakuto is a thin sword shining with many cool colors, from pinks and purples to blues and greens. The hilt is twisted like a horn. It looks like a beautiful weapon, but it steams out a painful toxin. The bankai form is summoned by the command, 'Tear to pieces, Akai Hariken!' The bankai takes the form of a double sided scythe. The shaft itself is thin, and the scythe on either side of the weapon seems slightly deformed. The zanpakuto glows a strange blue-green. The bankai steams out different toxin, none of them deadly, only painful or paralyzing. The blade itself is coated with toxins, and can be deadly if injected into the body.
History (optional): No one really knows where she came from. Ameko isn't secretive, it's just that many of her subordinates are afraid to ask.

Combat Abilities: Ren’s Zanpakuto is named Raiba (Thunder Fang), and it’s called by the command “Kuribu, Raiba! (Cleave, Thunder Fang!)” In shikai form, the katana turns into a large claymore sword. Lightning runs along the blade at all times, and with a move the lightning can be launched at enemies. He’s working on his bankai, but he hasn’t really figured it out yet.

Combat Abilities: Heiwa’s Zanpakuto is called Kage Anaake-ki (Shadow Piercer), and is summoned by the command “Usureru, Kage Anaake-ki! (Fade, Shadow Piercer!)” The shikai form is that of a tanto, becoming a smaller blade than a katana. While most would think this is worse, it comes with some great perks. She is able to move into shadows and use them as small portals. If there are no shadows however, she can’t do much. She can also control shadows enough to create ropes or spikes. They don’t go much farther than the origin of the shadow though, so it’s not very useful at a range. Her bankai is called Tamashi Anaake-ki (Soul Piercer). Rika becomes a shadow herself, able to stay in fully physical form or become intangible. She can even vanish fully from sight. She also gets full control over shadows. She can either summon them to defend herself, or trap her enemies. Her actual weapon doesn’t really exist any longer. She summons shadows to form into any weapon she wants. They’re mostly melee weapons, though she can make throwable weapons for a bit of range.
