[ sorry this reply took forever, full day of classes and im tired af :,) ALSO IM SORRY THIS IS SO LONG WTH ]
Piper tore his gaze away from where it saw past the chain-link fence, staring over at Fiona with a face full of surprise. They were supposed to be working together on this, both being leaders and all, but he'd never expected her to actually talk to him. Frankly, he wasn't sure if it made him feel better or cranked up his anxiety to 10 knowing that the Class A leader was speaking to him, and not purely out of obligation, even if he had a sneaking suspicion that it was. After a moment of squinting at her with a dumbfounded look, he brushed a gloved hand against his cold nose and forced a shrivel of a smile. Trading her the same inconspicuousness, he leaned in a bit and clenched his fist against his shoulder. "I think it's a bit late for that, but I'll try. No time for me to get properly used to it," he muttered, eyes briefly glancing back at the crowd. "I don't know how you do it. But thanks."
There really wasn't any time to spare, so Piper did his best to stamp out the fear in his eyes as thoroughly as he could manage, turning and leveling his gaze to the crowd. Panic lurched in his chest once more, a car without brakes ready to crash, but he ignored it. The thing he couldn't ignore were the burning looks of the class he was supposed to lead, each stare like a bullet right through him. The one Anna was giving him was a bullet right to the heart and the protective vest he'd haphazardly fashioned over the years for his confidence crumbled like aluminum foil in it's wake. Her smirk burned him deep, but he swallowed hard and frowned in response. Second thoughts didn't mean a thing, he didn't have other options. He'd let himself get complacent over the years, hiding behind others above him, hiding behind a missing limb, and he'd always liked to let himself believe it was easier that way. At the moment he was clinging to pure stubbornness and spite, which was really as good a motivator as any. He was fairly certain pride was lingering around there somewhere too, wanting him to make himself impressive for a select few, but it was only a sad little fraction of what kept him pushing forward.
After a moment of gathering himself up, he cleared his throat a bit awkwardly and spoke up, addressing the crowd, posture straightened and eyes as focused as they could be in front of so many people. "We're taking the usual route out east, stopping just short of the cliffs," he began, raising his voice loud enough to be heard, and sounding a bit hoarse as if he'd never particularly raised his voice much at all. "You are explicitly ordered not to stray from the path without going in pairs and alerting either me or Fiona where you're going. Let's get this over with, shall we?"
With his short concluding words, Piper turned towards the locked gate and swiped his keycard through the box in the middle, and it popped open with an echoing beep. The gates retracted back into the fence, leaving a big enough gap for the groups to go through one at a time. He threw a glance over his shoulder before leading the group out. The scent of the forest pressed on him, overwhelming- it became the air and all he could do was breathe it in and taste it. It was unsettling and he recoiled visibly, fighting to keep his stomach in order. He raised his hand and waved for the group to follow, praying they'd listen.
Stile uncrossed his arms as Lilah approached, an easy smile spilling out onto his features that he'd been holding it back, waiting for her to show up and give him an excuse to use it. He'd let his eyes linger on Class A a moment too long, and her face was respite. He eyed her weapons with a drawn eyebrow, expression half-amused and half-ready to dodge out of the way. "Keep that energy under wraps you fiend, I'd like to stay in one piece," he snorted, trying not to look like he was following her gaze on Fiona. "If you fall I'm leaving you behind." Tightening the strap across his chest that held his weapon, he walked a little over towards the rest of Class B, expecting Lilah to follow him. He pursed his lips thoughtfully at her question, mulling it over in his head. He didn't dare betray how much of a loaded question that was. "Eh, nothing unusual. You'll live to see another day, kiddo, as long as you don't run out at the monsters head-first," he teased, flicking her cheek with about as much gentleness as a beesting. Stile carefully tuned out what the leaders were saying, already aware of what to expect in advance, and instead picked out Cassie's short head out of the crowd of Class A students, looking like a trembling leaf of a kid trying to fit into too-big boots. A shred of worry sparked in his chest and he elbowed Lilah this time, gesturing at the girl with a nod of his chin. Oh boy why did he have to care. "Think we should keep an eye on her?" he muttered.

Jeeeeez mate, you weren't kidding!)
Fiona gave him a slight shrug, giving him a light pat on the shoulder as he stepped forwards to address the groups. While she wasn't particularly fond of him, he was Wisteria's brother and certainly the lesser of two evils. Her gaze flicked towards the Kenning siblings for a moment, unable to deny that Anna would have been a far more dangerous pick for leader, despite her obvious skill and ambition. Fiona certainly wasn't going to complain about the softer, meeker Piper as leader and her desire to keep Class B in check as a whole outweighed any personal feelings towards the creatures that filled its ranks. As Piper led the way, Fiona stood next to the gate, counting heads as they passed through one by one. She planned to take up the rear once everyone was through to prevent anyone from lagging behind. Lilah, for example. Fiona had been a little surprised to see her joining the patrol and could only hope her injured leg wouldn't cause her any problems. They didn't need anyone slowing them down today and she certainly wasn't in the mood to see Lilah get shredded because of what Fiona had done yesterday. Suddenly realizing she'd been staring, Fiona purposefully looked away, watching Piper lead the others into the trees beyond the perimeter. Today needed to go perfectly, for more reasons than one.
Seven followed closely after Piper, assault rifle held carefully in slightly shaking hands. He hadn't gone out on many patrols and certainly none like this, with everyone on edge and anxious. Usually patrols with Fiona were a little less formal, often treated more like a hunting trip than a military exercise. Today was different though and it was clear that he was having a little trouble keeping his cool. The wind in the leaves had his head snapping around like a startled deer, but he saw nothing out of the ordinary. Forcing himself to take a deep breath, Seven took a moment to try and calm himself. This was no different than before. Just go out there, shoot some beasties, and don't get got. He could do this. He'd be fine.
Anna and Jack fell into line just ahead of Lilah and Stile. The two took their time, sauntering forwards as if there was no hurry at all. Jack cracked his knuckles eagerly, grinning from ear to ear, while Anna walked along quietly with a pensive look on her face. She'd spent a lot of time trying to break down what had happened and how Piper had ended up with that keycard. Her best bet so far was his sister. Glancing towards Wisteria, she studied the Class A student for a moment. It was the only thing Piper had over her, she was certain of it. Which meant that, if she wanted to have her position guaranteed when the leadership opened up again, she needed a ally in Class A, anyone at all. It could only help. The only question was who would be the easiest mark for this little long con.

Leave it to Stile to be a squishy worrier. Lilah flashed him a reassuring smile accompanied with a wink, but recoiled when he flicked her. She rubbed her cheek with a pout. How could he do this to her? Her precious face, her money maker, defiled! "Where's the fun in that?" She whined, referring to his suggestion for safety. Lilah was stupid, and would sometimes go to far in such matters. This is what Stile was around for. No doubt she would be forgetting this advice once the actual hunting began, and Stile could at least yell at her to stop being an idiot. "Hm?" Craning her neck a bit, she observed the new girl for a moment. Yeah, she certainly didn't look good. With a shrug, Lilah remarked, "Not going to be my number one priority. Besides, I'm sure Fiona will take care of her."
Cassie swallowed, her mouth feeling unbearably dry. Was it always this dry? Definitely not. With how foggy and wet it was outside, this felt unnatural. A cold sweat ran down her spine. She noticed that Stile had given her a look, almost sympathetic or pitiful. Normally, Cassie might be a little offended, her hero complex kicking in to say she was perfectly capable of handling herself. But at the moment she did not feel that way at all, fear far outweighing any confidence, even false confidence. As they began to move out, she tried to stay near the middle of the group, which she figured would be the safest. Alright, Cass, just get through this and then you will have time to train, and be prepared for next time...!

The twins listened half heartedly to the directions, it always seemed to be the same to them really. Do your job and don't get killed, it was so simple! Well, in words it was simple. The two kind of stayed back from the others, as they often did, more content being with each other than the rest of the people on either class. They stayed with the group though, it's what they'd been told to do, and neither wanted to get into trouble. At least not yet! They exchanged whispers, mainly about the others, like that new girl who looked terrified as all got out! What a cute little thing, they'd have to torment her later after the patrol! Or Seven and how anxious he looked. Or to how spooky Anna and Jack were. The list went on and on and they seemed to have something to say about everyone around them. Some of it was just little todbits of information they knew about the others from just observing, and the rest was mainly whatever the heck they thought up at the time. Like what would happen if one of the others died.

((Great! I've got one character for now but I may put up more later. Also I realized my Aiden is similar to Richard but I swear he's a character I've had for years.))
Aiden Hale ; 19 ; Male ; Class B Aiden is a tall young man, standing at about 6' 1. That height is accompanied by a fairly lean build; slightly toned, but he's far from a bodybuilder. He has moderately tanned skin, hinting at his foreign background, and a handsome face complimented by a stock of messy, dark brown hair. Though his eyes are normally a similar shade of brown, you'll often find him wearing a pair of colored contacts, giving him the yellow eyes of a cat. Clothing-wise he'll typically grab the first thing he can find, caring little for fashion or cleanliness, and you'll certainly never find him dressed up in a tux./ Aiden is, to put it simply, somewhat childish. While he's far from innocent and can deal with tough situations just fine, he tends to behave immaturely. He's a troublemaker who delights in pranks and meaningless fun, and seldom refrains from teasing someone, whoever they may be. Though not really an optimist, you'll never find him in a bad mood, as Aiden tends to cover up such negative emotions with endless amounts of jokes and sarcasm. He enjoys making people laugh, but he's just as likely to startle, scare, flirt, or get on someone's nerves in order to amuse himself. Aiden's a bit of a sucker for being the center of attention, and doesn't really care whether the light cast on him is positive or negative. Lying and tall tales come easily to him, as he's been told to have a silver tongue. Aiden, however, also possesses something of an immortality complex. He's under the impression that nothing can kill him, and thus he'll act recklessly with little regard for his own life, laughing as he takes on tasks that others might deem suicidal./ Aiden's mutation allows him the ability of armament manifestation. Or, in simpler terms, pulling weapons or armor out of thin air. Melee weapons are simple; more complex weapons like guns take more time and concentration if he doesn't want them blowing up in his face. (Sphinx)

((Generally speaking yes, if he intended to use those things as weapons, but only solid objects. IE: He can conjure up an iron pipe to bludgeon something with, but he can't create acid or a bag of flour or anything of that nature, even if he intended to use them as a weapon. If needed I can edit his bio and go into more detail, I just didn't wanna make his mutation majorly longer than everyone else's. Also since I'm coming in late here, any ideas where I could jump in?))

[ more longness oops ]
Piper headed out along the route where it cut through the forest, the first layer of trees beginning to thicken and loom overhead. The area closest to the Academy was always quiet, so he didn't expect anything to happen for the first part of their trip but kept himself guarded nonetheless. Although anxiety was still kicking him in the ribs, a different kind of confidence held him now that he was in the forest, as if the routine of it every weekend made him feel at least vaguely like he knew what he was doing. Hand resting on the hilt of his sword as he walked, Piper kept mostly quiet as he traced the path, eyes and ears open carefully. He did seem a little more confident now, stepping with precision and purpose, but a small change to him began to show. It wasn't very obvious, something unsettling you'd see in your periphery- the forest seemed to mold around him, splitting just enough for him to pass comfortably while others had to climb over tangled roots and brambles. The chilling wind didn't ruffle his hair or his clothes. His shadow stretched long even though there was no sun.
Throwing a second glance over his shoulder just to make sure everyone was following, he spotted Seven's panicked look and eyed him carefully, choosing his words from the nicer section of his brain. It wasn't as if he'd had many chances to comfort people. He offered the guy a smile and slowed his gait enough to give him a pat on the shoulder. "Don't worry, if there's anything out here I'll be the first to know," he reassured him, shrugging lightly. "As long as you're careful, you'll do fine. All of us have your back."
Then, in a painfully ironic way, he caught a scent in the air and immediately stopped, raising his arm and holding it out to signal the others to stop and keep back. He frowned, taking in another deep breath of it and staring out across the incline they'd been heading up. It was stale, a week old now, and really only a ghost of a scent. It wasn't a monster. "Uh,-" he started, accidentally stepping back into his usual meekness before forcing himself to speak up properly. "Down along the stream, he's been here," he started, carefully turning his head to listen. There was a distant, faint rustling, but it reached up through his feet like it belonged to something heavy. "And something else."
Stile followed the group, keeping just to himself and Lilah, nodding at her response. His friend was right, he couldn't really watch Cassie like a doting mother bird, but at the very least he could have her back more than some of the others. Really he just had to focus on keeping Lilah from tackling a monster and riding the frothing beast into battle. He made a face at the thought, knowing it was all too likely of an option. "Can you hurry up?" he muttered, prodding both Anna and Jack in the back with the butt of his weapon, looking none too happy about their leisurely stroll. When the rest of the group before them stopped, he nearly tripped and stumbled into the two idiots, barely catching himself in time to keep from falling right into a bush. Swearing under his breath, he clung to Lilah's sleeve to regain his balance before finally tuning in on what was happening. They hadn't even gotten into the deeper part of the forest and danger was sneaking up on them. He wondered if this gloomy group was just giving off a flashing beacon of 'please come kill us' to the monsters. "Are we gonna search?" he muttered.
