Hello WCRP! I made this for the forum to use for their cats if they wish. Sometimes people prefer pixels and I wanted to offer something else other than lineart. If you want non-pixel lineart, there is already a thread. Lyonstar did a wonderful job and actually inspired me to make this one.
I recommend a program with layers. GIMP is a free program with just that and was actually what I used to complete the pixel. My sketches are done in Krita. If you want to learn how to make your own pixels, I recommend this one by darkforestwarrior!
A few notes: ▪ Never remove my credit in you finished pixel, violators will be reported. Only role-plays will require edit, post templates are excluded. ▪ Forum use only, I made this for WCRP. ▪ For the shading, use darken only in GIMP. Overlay is fine for the lighting and light stripes. ▪ For any white on a cat, go with an off white so the overlay does not seep into it. For any black, go a dark gray it blends in with the lineart. ▪ This is intended for people to edit themselves, so I will not be taking specific requests. Suggestions for future pixels are welcome! ▪ Outline can change to any color, I just picked orange to show up. ▪ You can tag or pm me for help, but I would prefer it be kept here so I can make a FAQs!

FAQs Why do role-plays need to credit while post templates do not? I would like role-plays to tag me if they use this as it's essentially a side banner in my eyes. Just credit for the lineart is fine, but if you're using them to the degree I use my art for, I feel like that is fair. Plus if I get a tag, I will definitely be checking out some Clans. Post templates, on the other hand, would most likely end up with a tag I do not want. I hope this makes sense, as I personally see the difference between the crediting of the two situations.
Can I edit this in MS Paint? Pretty sure you can, but I would only recommend the lineart being used. Note that this could remove the transparency. If GIMP does not work for you, you can use Krita, but it isn't as pixel friendly. I have not attempted Paint.NET, but I think it can work. Depends on how friendly it can be.
Why do you suggest off-white or off-black? I went into minor detail, but white can be harsh to the eyes if you make an all-white cat. It can make the lighting "disappear" as well, which is an issue I have had. Choosing an off-color of those two makes the image more legible. For black, the lineart would seep in and you won't be able to see the lineart itself. If you want to use a gray cat, I would do medium to light, while for dark and black cats, medium to somewhat dark. These are personal suggestions based on the advice I have received.
Why not use overlay for all the shading layers? I only recommend overlay for stripes and the lightning. Darken only and an opacity change comes off as better shading and shows the layers of shading. I also picked purple because of out the colors I have used, it is the best neutral shading. I don't recommend black, white, or orange personally for shading on every image. Green and blue are nice, though. However, shade how you want, the power is yours!
