( It would be interesting to explore Jacaranda's individual relationships with her siblings. Jacaranda's always been naturally hot-headed and competitive, but since the truth came out about her dad's forbidden litter, she's become consumed by this desperate desire to prove her worth - to her parents, to the clan, to herself. I think she'd be less concerned about how others perceive her and more concerned about being loved. She probably feels threatened by the other litter and might think that if her parents didn't really love each other then their love for their daughter was fake as well.
She's still a total hopeless romantic and starry-eyed dreamer underneath all the anger and family issues, so it'd be super cute to see her fall in love with someone who doesn't care about all that baggage. Idk. We'll see what happens!
Anyway, all of my characters are open to rp with! Otherwise I guess I'll get to work on starters orz )

((*waves wildly* hi tealraven!! :DDD
sorry for the wait! things got busy the start of the month T.T i'm going to be a bit slower, i'll be posting one reply tonight and hopefully get more up tmw c: ))
butterflypaw with whitepaw (Feathertalon ) at gecko ravine
"Oh no," Butterflypaw mewed. "Stuck in the rain... together... we'd probably have to take cover. Under the same tree or something."
Well her plan's working great.
Then Whitepaw scooted in right next to her, and Butterflypaw's pelt promptly heated up. "Stay still," Whitepaw whispered. "It's here."
Okay maybe her plan's not working that great.
Every muscle tensed as Butterflypaw's senses shot to high alert, eyes darting about as she inhaled as quietly as she could. Boa hit the back of her throat. Both apprehension and excitement pulsed through her veins. At least we have the perfect hiding spot, she thought as she crouched under the thorny branches, watching as the boa slithered into view.
She tried to examine the creature, knowing she should be looking for the black spots that warned the clan of their newest infestation. The boa seemed to be stalking something - she really, really hoped it wasn't the very tasty apprentices to its left.
((what do you think? some twists that popped into my mind was either the boa looks even worse, a harbinger of what could happen to the cats, or the boa is free of mites and they're like, the answer must be close!))

Poor Jacaranda, she needs hugs ;v; But interactions between her and the family would be interesting! I do have Vanilla and Coconut open if you'd be down to do something with her and one of her parents ~
I'm not sure if I want more mites or no mites on this boa, maybe I'll figure it out by the time I can reply o;
Sorry, Swa! Thought i had added them, I'll do that after work but you're good to rp them!

( FeathertalonThat she does ;v; And sure! Feel free to nudge one of them in Jacaranda's direction c: Before I get to writing, a few questions: is the original boa still out there, or was it already taken care of? Is there more than one currently haunting the clan? Also, I'm guessing that apprentices receive training in all three disciplines but have an emphasis on their chosen specialization? Like, a healer apprentice would probably still receive some hunting and scouting training, too, right?? thejadestormHey! :DD //waves wildly back Do you have any open characters I could throw mine in with? Will do! Would you rather coconut or vanilla? o:
And there’s just one boa with mites right now yet to be taken care of Yeah yeah, they all get a bit of basic training in the three ranks, but specialize in just one ^^

Whitepaw »
Copper flashed bright against the green foliage that littered the forest floor. Whitepaw watched in silence as the reptile slithered itself closer into view, tongue flicking like an ominous warning. It was on the trail of something, Whitepaw could see it. Even with those dark beady eyes the molly could see the glint of the chase. She just hoped it wasn’t hunting her and Butterflypaw.
Momentarily she glanced at the calico beside her. A twinge of guilt pulled at her, thrumming inside her chest as she lay there bunched against thorns and calico fur. Butterflypaw shouldn’t be in this situation. She needed to be somewhere safe, away from any kind of danger. What if something happened to her? What if the boa attacked and Whitepaw wasn’t strong enough to fend it off? Again she looked at Butterflypaw through the corner of her eye. In that moment that was when the young tabby and white apprentice knew without a doubt that she would never let anything happen to the healer. So long as Whitepaw still breathed the other molly was going to be in safe paws, she swore on the Ocean. If the boa even dared to make a move on the two then Whitepaw would find all the strength in her to run it off. She was Whitepaw the Great, no danger was too much for her.
The boa continued to slither on, slow and steady. It drew closer to the thorn bush the two were hiding in, but made no gesture suggesting it was after the feline pair. Still, Whitepaw readied herself, muscles prepared to spring forward, claws unsheathed and digging into the ground below, ready to strike. As she stared the creature down, she began to notice the dullness to the snake’s scales. There was no shine like there should be, and upon even closer inspection, Whitepaw could make out dozens of black speckles crawling along the boa’s body. ”The not fleas,” she hissed under her breath. It looked bad; the snake was surely suffering. It made the scout apprentice wonder if it would even be able to live much longer. Surely those bugs were draining its blood or eating its skin, or doing whatever a not-flea did to its victim. Whitepaw flattened her ears in pity.
And that’s when she made a rash decision.
”I’m gonna kill it.” There was no hesitation in the molly’s voice. Resolution rang loud. Whitepaw had made her decision and there was no going back.
[ decided to have the snake have more bugs c;< thinking white will get them from this and ends up as one of the cats allergic to neem ] Coconutfall »
Training had been cut short due to the coming rain. By the time Coconutfall and Tigerpaw had returned back to camp both the toms had felt raindrops splash onto their pelts. It was about time for a storm to cover the island, but that did make it harder to properly train his son. He had hoped to dive deeper into the mysteries of the Ocean, but nature had decided otherwise, and the last place Coconutfall wanted to be during a storm was near the water.
He had also hoped to speak with Tigerpaw about the vision he had experienced a few days before. While he had been a distant father for Tigerpaw’s moons in the nursery - along with Lionpaw and Whitepaw - he was already picking up on the young tom’s behaviors, his little quirks and gestures. During their last training sessions it had become all the more obvious that something was sitting heavy on the neophyte’s mind, and Coconutfall wanted to reach out and be there for his son, but anytime he tried either the words fell short or Tigerpaw quickly bounced back and went on another one of his ramblings about this and that. Today he had been doing on about Ripplepaw and some sort of stone she had found the other day. Coconutfall didn’t get too many details, but from the sound of it Tigerpaw had enjoyed his time with the black molly.
Having now parted ways with Tigerpaw, Coconutfall found himself at the prey pile. He eyed what it had to offer before deciding on a small mud crab that had been caught the night before. As he worked on cracking open the shell he glanced around camp, hoping to spot the familiar pelt of Sandheart, any one of his kits, or even Archwhisker.

JACARANDABLOOM camp / with coconutfall Gloomy, rain-laden clouds gathered over the jungle and in Jacarandabloom's thoughts. The weather matched her foul mood perfectly. She glared at the orchid that lay between her paws with a stormy expression that mirrored the sky above. The oncoming storm had thrown off her plans for the afternoon; it would be impossible to track a snake in the rain once it really started coming down. She'd have to wait for a break to go out again.
Yet she knew from experience that some storms could batter the island for days, and she couldn't afford to wait that long. Lives were at stake! The sooner someone caught and killed that boa, the better. And if that someone happened to be her...
Without lifting her head from the orchid she fiddled with, Jacarandabloom flicked her gaze upward and, breath catching in her throat, spotted a familiar brown tabby figure by the camp entrance. As it had ever since the truth came out, the sight of her father inspired a whirlwind of confusing emotions, most sharp with anger. The feelings subsided to a low, simmering heat when she didn't see Sandheart or Tigerpaw or any of the other runts with him. Coconutfall was alone, for once.
Jacarandabloom quickly swiped the orchid aside, feeling oddly embarrassed. She strode over to the prey pile, both hoping to avoid her father and hoping to catch his attention at the same time. As it turned out, she needn't have bothered: Coconutfall had elected to visit the prey pile as well. She nosed through the freshkill as if she'd been there all the while and had only just noticed his presence. "Hey, Coconutfall," the torbie scout mewed gruffly. "You're back early." She noted out of the corner of her eye that he'd selected the mud crab she'd caught yesterday and felt an absurd flicker of satisfaction.
WAVECREST palm coast / with a patrol (open)
It was a lovely day for fishing.
Or it had been, anyway, before the rain. Wavecrest was no stranger to being wet, but there was an important difference between getting soaked while swimming and fishing, and getting soaked while standing in a downpour. The grey-and-white tom stood frozen in the ocean shallows with one paw raised. A salty breeze sent ripples across the surface of the otherwise calm water and ruffled his whiskers. Soon the surf would be too choppy to continue fishing.
Nevertheless, he remained silent and still, eyes intent upon the water that eddied around his legs. A shimmer of bright orange caught his eye and he stiffened, concentrating, every muscle in his being tense and aquiver. He could taste the clownfish already. He unsheathed his claws and struck --
And a small wave crested above him and splashed over the hunter, shoving him back up the beach. Wavecrest tumbled whiskers over tail a few times before sliding to a stop in the sand. He spat out a mouthful of saltwater and sat up, cheeks burning with indignation. The irony of what had just happened was not lost on him. Wavecrest floundered to his feet. The sand sucked at his paws, determined to make a fool out of him. He looked around, hoping the other members of his patrol hadn't seen what transpired.

PARROTCALL gecko ravine / with a clanmate (open)
"Well, this is inconvenient," observed Parrotcall in a cheerful tone.
About halfway up the trunk of a neem tree, the flame point tom clung to a thin branch that wobbled offensively beneath his weight. Really, he wasn't that heavy. Drops of rain sprinkled his pelt and dampened the wood beneath him until it was treacherously slick. Ever determined, Parrotcall sank his claws into the bark and slowly shimmied forward, sending leaves showering down upon the scout who accompanied him.
"This should only take a moment!" he reassured the other warrior once again. The healer stretched out to his full length, even though he could feel how inelegant he looked, and reached for a small white flower that bobbed just out of his reach. His pink nose twitched; the fragrance was strong even in the rain. It was almost within his grasp when the bark under him sloughed off in his claws and he lost his balance.
"Ah, monkey dung!" He hissed, struggling to regain his grip. "I, ah, might be coming back down a little sooner than I anticipated," he called.

KIWIPAW camp / alone (open)
Kiwipaw was busy studying. This wasn't unusual; Kiwipaw was always studying.
What was unusual was that he'd apparently forgotten he was eating something. The little brown apprentice was so engrossed in his studies that a somewhat soggy gecko tail was poking out of the corner of his mouth. Forehead creased in a thoughtful frown, he chewed absent-mindedly on the reptilian tail.
He had dragged the herbs laid out before him into the shadow of one of the trees that fringed the camp. There they would stay mostly dry beneath the fluttering green canopy. "Mmh," he murmured to himself. "Anise; white flowers; primary treatment: snake bites." He skimmed his paw over two white flowers belonging to different plants. But which one was it? Neem flowers were white, too, weren't they? Or was that Brahmi he was thinking of?
Kiwipaw wished one of the other healer apprentices were with him. Or maybe his mentor. He seemed to learn faster when he had someone else to practice with.
...Come to think of it, wasn't Whalespirit supposed to take him out for herb identification training today?
Focus, Kiwipaw. He blinked and realized he'd lost track of which herb he was on. He'd have to start the list over. Kiwipaw sighed, gnawed on the gecko tail, and began again, oblivious to the cats around him.

algaewing with saltwhisker (☾—ivy。˚⊹♪:¨ · )
Complete and utter surprise was the only thing plastered across Algaewing's face, her eyes wide and blinking in stunned silence. Shy Saltwhisker, snapping back at her? Why, she'd never thought she'd see the day!
After flailing a bit, Algaewing finally said, still yet tactless as ever - "I hate to be contrary," she said, "but you definitely should speak your mind more. You just might impress a few cats."
As if the foolish cat couldn't see the anger still edged along Saltwhisker's spine, Saltwhisker's very point sailing right over her head. If Saltwhisker stalked away right then and there, Algaewing would be left just as befuddled as before.

Saltwhisker
with algaewing thejadestorm A burning urge to itch all his fur off because of the small black pests fueled his anger. Suddenly, the corners of his lips etched into a small smile, delight and pleasure making its way to his mind. Hearing, let alone seeing Algaewing surprised made a strange sense of victory spread out through his body. Perhaps it's some sort of kit-like urge to see someone he saw as a weird type of authority shocked that made his pelt surprisingly flatten against his skin.
"I know," he purred, desperately trying to hide the delight in his voice. "You seemed impressed enough for me. Thanks for the tips, though!"
With that, he trotted away back to camp, the soothing oils and scents the herbs owned conquering his jaws. I should do this more often, Algaewing's right!

((algaewing: *watching saltwhisker stroll away* twas my plan all along mwahaha))
algaewing with kiwipaw (Tealraven ), mentions saltwhisker in camp Algaewing blinked as Saltwhisker strolled off. "Well, he seems to be feeling better," she said to herself as she picked up her own herbs and padded after him.
As she stepped back into camp, she spotted Kiwipaw carefully observing a spread of herbs under a tree. A small gecko's tail poked out of his mouth.
Amused at the sight, Algaewing changed the trajectory of her path towards the healer apprentice and set her own herbs down next to him. He seemed too focused on the herbs to notice her approach. She watched him for a few moments before clearing her throat. "And what helps insect bites?"
Butterflypaw's heart hurt a little for the boa, the agonized slither of its dulled body. She turned to Whitepaw in no small shock. "... That'd be so epic," she breathed, already seeing it in slow motion before her eyes. She was about to offer to hold it down or something, only for the tug of thorns to remind her of her situation. "If you get me out of here, I can help...!" But she knew the effort might draw the snake's attention. It was a dangerous idea - maybe she should be trying to convince Whitepaw out of it.
"Go for the eyes," she whispered back.
basiltail with crocodilefang and whalespirit (swallowtail ) at the border
"See anything spooky?" Basiltail's mew broke through the gloomy atmosphere. The clouds were heavy, threatening to spill at any moment. "Marking!" His head poked above the tangle of mangrove roots. "Say, what do you think might be hiding inside the crocodile's lair? Crocs, naturally - but since everyone too scared to go in, it'd make for the best hiding place, wouldn't you think?

Whitepaw »
’That would be so epic. Go for the eyes.’
That was all Whitepaw needed to hear.
There was disappointment in pulling away from Butterflypaw, but it was replaced with a palpable sense of the need to flaunt her strength in front of the calico. A harsh growl ripped from her throat as Whitepaw turned, pouncing away from the bush she had been hiding in; her claws erupted from the earth below her, unsheathed all the way out, glistening in the little bit of sunlight that was still lingering.
The sudden noise alerted the boa; the reptile turned its head, jaws instantly opening in a defensive gesture as Whitepaw made her move. The snake’s fangs were easy to see, but Whitepaw felt no fear. A bite would hurt, but she knew that a boa’s fangs were fragile, easily ripped right out of the snake’s mouth if not careful. It was honestly a wonder that the snake still had most, if not all, its fangs after it had bit both Swiftsplash and Turtlestream. Still, this didn’t deter Whitepaw. She wanted to protect her Clan, and she wanted to protect Butterflypaw while also showing the healer apprentice what she was capable of.
Swifter than Whitepaw anticipated, the snake struck out, hissing as it did. She yelped, stumbling back against the leaf litter, able to dodge the attack by barely an inch. Anger swelled her chest as she stared the copper creature down through narrowed mix-matched eyes. Whitepaw gave no time to even fully think as she pushed off the ground and charged forward, leaping and landing on the snake. She dug her claws into its skin, hoping to get it to still just long enough for her to make the killing blow, but the snake riled and shook underneath her, and it was taking everything in Whitepaw to hold on, but if there was one thing keeping her atop the snake it was the fact that Butterflypaw was there nearby, and there was no way Whitepaw was going to fail in front of her.
Coconutfall »
A familiar flash of gray, cream, and white caught Coconutfall’s attention out of the corner of his eyes. With the sight of the familiar pelt came the sound of a voice that the oracle knew all too well. His daughter, Jacarandabloom.
Coconutfall had not had the chance to truly interact with any of his older kits. He had spoken briefly with Lilypool and Algaewing some days before, but that had only been to check in on Swiftsplash and Turtlestream; he had wanted so badly to pull his two healer daughters aside and speak with them, but he knew they were busy, and it was clear to him that neither were in the mindset to sit down and speak with him about everything that had happened. Lilypool had been more open to the idea, but it had been obvious to the leader that his daughter wanted to go back to keeping an eye on her patients instead of deal with family drama. Coconutfall could understand that. He held no ill will against Lilypool. He didn’t hold bitter feelings toward any of his kits. It was guilt and shame that wrapped around him like vines and dug its thorns into him. He wanted to make amends with all of his kits, wanted to let them know that he still loved them, had always loved them. He wanted them to hear his side of the story, how Sandheart had always been the molly of his dreams while the Ocean had other plans. Coconutfall wanted to connect with his kits, but he had kept his distance, glancing at them longingly from afar. But now he had his chance with Jacarandabloom. Perhaps she would allow him a moment of her time.
Words fell silent on his tongue as the molly spoke. Her words were gravelly. It was a tone Coconutfall had come to hear a lot of in the last few days, but it always took him aback, especially when it was coming from his own daughter. Coconutfall should have expected it considering it was his family that he had hurt the most, but he had hoped to hear some semblance of welcoming in Jacarandabloom’s voice.
For a moment there he sat in silence, conflicted on whether or not to speak first and break the crab’s shell open first or the other way around. His eyes lingered on the crab before flickering to his daughter, then back to the crab, back to Jacarandabloom, crab, cat. Eventually he mustered just enough courage to find his voice. Clearing his throat, the tom replied hoarsely, ”Yes, the rain is starting to move in. It was sprinkling on the way back to camp.”

Crocodilefang »
Crocodilefang elected to ignore Basiltail’s question. There was nothing spooky out here, and Crocodilefang was sure they wouldn’t find anything that qualified as spooky. They were out in their own territory, and sure, dangerous reptiles made their home here as well, but that wasn’t spooky. It was just life. Clan life was dangerous, full of snake bites and crocodiles and oracles making dumb decisions, but none of that was spooky. It wasn’t even worth the effort in attempting a conversation there, so instead the scarred tabby focused on marking the border, wanting to make sure that there was a stable scent line.
Once finished marking where he was, Crocodilefang maneuvered himself atop a mangrove root. His eyes scanned the nearby area. ”Scraps from their last meal. Or eggs given the season,” answered Crocodilefang, inching into this conversation if anything. He shrugged. ”It’d be foolish to hide inside a crocodile’s den, especially Scarmaw’s. For all we know she could be inside right now, and I for one am not about to risk that chance.” With that he threw Basiltail a glare. It wouldn’t surprise him if the brown tabby made a venture into the den what with how he was talking. His glare then turned toward Whalespirit who was now a few tail-lengths away from the scouts. ”And you have kits to come home to, let’s not be reckless here.”

JACARANDABLOOM camp / with coconutfall Jacarandabloom picked over the prey for a few moments longer than was necessary before settling on a parrotfinch. The small bird's brilliant plumage was bright against the soft colors of her fur. She stepped back from the pile but remained standing, as if she were just stopping for a quick snack before going on her way. She set the bird down and tore off a small mouthful. Why isn't he talking to me? Her fur prickled with impatience.
Then Coconutfall spoke. His voice sounded hoarse; whether from exhaustion or stress she couldn't tell. A lot had happened in the last few days. The tom continued to stare at his crab even as she didn't bother to look up from her own meal. "Yeah, so it would seem," she replied in a curt tone. Really? Small talk?? She felt a stab of irritation. After everything that's happened, after turning my life upside down, after ruining our family, all he has to gab about is the weather?!
The least he could do was put a little more effort into the conversation; he hadn't spoken to her at all since he'd named Tigerpaw his neophyte. Good to know where she stood on his list of priorities. "What have you been up to today? More training with Tigerpaw, I'm guessing?"
KIWIPAW camp / with algaewing
Kiwipaw lifted his head and peered up at Algaewing with a perplexed expression. After a heartbeat's delay, he startled. The jerk of his paws sent leaves and flowers alike tumbling away while the gecko tail slipped into his mouth with his surprised intake of breath. "Oh!" He swallowed, eyes round -- the gecko tail was a bit too big for his throat -- and uttered a single cough. "Er, hello, Algaewing." He had the grace to look somewhat abashed as he reached out and raked the herbs toward him.
"Insect bites, insect bites," he muttered, eyes darting over the array of herbs before him. He pawed at a ragged piece of bark, red and sticky with resin. "That's Gumbo-limbo, right?" When he lifted his paw, the bark came away from the grass as well, stuck to the bottom of his pads. He regarded it with a disappointed look in a resigned sort of way.

Ospreyfeather with - wavecrest tag - Tealraven
Ospreyfeather popped his head out of a small bush, finding a grim-faced Wavecrest, who was on his patrol, standing near the water. He sauntered up, standing beside the hunter tom saying, “Hey Wavecrest, have you caught something yet?” Ospreyfeather, for his part, had not. He blamed it on the scraggly bush that yadn’t hidden him well enough.
very rush, wanted to get smth up

( Yes, she's a v tsundere angry bby And thanks! I saw a tropic-themed clan and wanted to go ham on the cool warrior names but managed to stop myself before I got carried away with too many characters cx I took a look at your starters on pg 7. Maybe Lemonpaw could be part of Wavecrest's patrol at the Palm Coast?? Or I could send Sunchaser to accompany Silentwave, since all hunters/healers are supposed to have a scout with them? ) That sounds good
