Whalespirit With - Crocodilefang, Basiltail Location - camp Tag - Feathertalon, thejadestorm
Whalespirit decided to continue to try and tease Crocodilefang. The younger tom may not know it, but his reaction had actually been quite humorous to him. It was obvious the tom was trying not to be triggered. Ignoring Crocodilefang's claims about his brain, he said in a babyish voice, "Who's scared of itty bitty cwocodiles?" Whalespirit may be a little too old for it, but he couldn't resist himself when it came to good-natured teasing.

Archwhisker
With - [ Redwave ]
Location - [ Beach ]
The brown tabby tom began feeling uncomfortable in the conversation. Glancing out the corner of his eyes, he watched at Redwave flexed his claws into the sand, a reminder of Redwave's cold and hostile temperament. Archwhisker's ears swiveled to listen as the red tabby spoke once more, and he was somewhat taken aback by the brash question. Their matching amber eyes met, his burning with a deep, unreadable passions compared to the calmer and unassertive stare of Archiwhisker's.
Archwhisker did not know his own intentions when he approached Redwave and yet he didn't think the interaction could be going any more peculiarly. Archwhisker wasn't baring the brunt of Redwave's obvious anger - which was a positive - though that did not mean that Archwhisker had eased the toms mixed feelings. Frankly, as he listened to Redwave continue, he feared that he merely made the situation worse. Like a flash of lightning, Archwhisker suddenly willed himself to leave the conversation. His sense of discomfort was increasing - it didn't appear as though Redwave was going to benefit from anything else he could say.
"I've never loved someone." He gave a small shrug, not appearing torn over the fact. "I couldn't say what I would do if things were different... I can only change the future now. Maybe you should think about the future now, too." Finally, Archwhisker turned heel and moved back towards the treeline. "Speak to Coastdawn. She may offer some solace." He reinforced, catching Redwave's murmured hiss.
Padding up the sandy beach, Archwhisker flicked his tail and made an effort to roll tension out from his shoulders. He needn't speak of this interaction with anyone. Despite his own concerns with Redwave he had to empathize with the turmoil and confusion the tom was undergoing; he did not want to cause the red hunter any trouble.
Sunshine
With - [ Alone ]
Location - [ Forest ]
Tag - [ @ ]
Curious, Sunshine flicked his tail over the hard black surface that lined the many streets of the town. He watched as twolegs bustled to and fro like a colony of busy ants. Sometimes one would stop and coo at him, to which Sunshine would respond by wrapping his body around their ankles, desiring attention, touch, and... food. Most twolegs would perform the ritual and walk away without maintaining their end of the deal by delivering him some sort of meal. He knew, though, that if he continued his routine with each twoleg that stopped he would eventually get to eat.
If all else failed, the elderly twoleg that lived in the nest across from the street would be exiting any moment now with a can of tuna. Sunshine felt his stomach growl loudly and he tilted his head, watching intently for any sign of movement within the nest. He isn't usually late, the ginger and white tom mused.
For seven days the tomcat would wait. Of a night he wouldn't leave to return to his nest, instead opting to curl up in a soggy box within view of the twoleg nest. Thankfully, the tom was not left without a meal thanks to the kindness of twolegs would be pass by, though he consumed significantly less than he usually would have. Eventually, the impending sense of reality was too strong to ignore. His friend was not going to be appearing in the doorway. Rising to his paws, Sunshine absorbed the image of the familiar twoleg nest, a fond smile reflecting on his features as he recalled the many moments that turned into jovial memories that occurred there. Now, it was time to move on.
The first steps were hesitant and without direction. Where was a cat to go when he had no one waiting? He was aware of the uncontrollable claws of hunger that ached at his stomach, yet how was he to rid himself of it? Without the habitual exchange of food between himself and his twoleg, there was no way he'd eat enough food to satisfy himself.
"Sunny!" The voice was familiar and the tabby tom decorated his countenance with a smile as he turned to face the being behind the voice. It was a fellow street cat named Bula - a name he claimed that the twolegs gave him, as it was always the first thing they would say to him. The flea-bitten tom bounded forward and stopped affront Sunshine, as he spoke again, he bent to scratch his ear with his back foot. "Still no luck, eh?"
Sunshine glanced at his paws briefly before looking back to the grey tom, "I'm not sure where he's gone... I don't think he is coming back."
"Whaddya gonna do?" Bula straightened his posture and stared with unblinking yellow eyes, "You already look thin! You gotta find some grub!"
I look thin? There was almost a comical nature to the interaction. Whilst Sunshine knew he hadn't eaten as much as he usually did, he was still stocky, muscled, and generally well-kept; all of these could be attributed to the kindness of the twoleg. On the other hand, Bula was bone-thin with a sparse and matted pelt, irritated by fleas. Regardless, Sunwhine spoke, "I'm not sure yet... perhaps I'll try my paws at hunting."
If it were possible for Bula's eyes to widen any further, they certainly did. "Huntin'?! You know you can't go anywhere near the forest! That group of cats live there - you don't wanna be messin' with them! Here, I'll show you the best scrappin' spots," Bula spun and prepared to sprint away, stopping only to turn back and raise a brow when Sunshine didn't move.
"Maybe they can show me how to hunt... besides, we can't all scrap, Bula. I wouldn't want to take anymore food from you." Sunshine rose to his paws and padded in the direction towards the forest, "If they don't want anything to do with me then I'll come back. Would you show me then?"
Bula appeared ready to argue with Sunshine's rebuttle, only to be soothed by Sunshine's addition of returning if he needed to. "You know where to find me," Bula grinned broadly. Mirroring the friendly grin, Sunshine waved his tail in farewell.
It took some time before the ginger and white tom reached the outskirts of his destination. More than ever before his stomach rolled with a hunger that he knew all too well from life on the streets before having met his twoleg. A shimmer of nervousness clouded his senses momentarily; what if life goes back to the way it was? He shivered. No, you can hunt... you've done it before! He wondered if he would remember the techniques his late mother taught him as a kit. Soon he would find out.
A step into the undergrowth solidified his future whether he knew it or not. As he delved deeper and deeper in the thick Fijian forest, he wondered what kind of cats he may find hidden in it's depth.
[ okay i was going to do more but i got carried away with sunshine AND i am going out to watch a musical tonight that a friend is in, so i'll have to post the rest later c:
i am also planning to post with sandheart and she interacts with lionpaw, drizzlefur can do something with risingbrook, and maybe hootpaw would go to ripplepaw?
also fun fact: 'bula' is a greeting in fijian like 'hello' or 'welcome'. i find it amusing to think that a cat would assume his name is bula because that is what twolegs always say to him. ]

Drizzlefur
With - [ Risingbrook ]
Location - [ Camp ]
It was amusing to Drizzlefur as she watched Rookfall, Lilypool, and Seabreeze depart on a patrol. She and her brother were very close, so much so that she was able to tell that Rookfall had feelings for the clans tabico healer. Getting the truth out of him required minor prompting and then she had offered him advice on how to approach the situation; it seemed her intervention worked as expected. She chuckled quietly to herself - today she would have to find a different scout for her patrol, it seemed. She did not mind if it meant her brother would be happy.
Glancing around the camp, Drizzlefur caught sight of Risingbrook lounging in the shade of a palm tree. It had been a few days since the attack but she'd been rather busy in that time and hadn't the chance to catch up with him. Stepping forward, she approached the tom with a friendly wave her tail. "Working hard?" She meowed with a playful tease. She paused when she reached his front and smiled, "How are you? It's been a busy few days since... well, everything I suppose." She gestured broadly with a sweep of her tail.
Hootpaw
With - [ Ripplepaw ]
Location - [ Forest ]
Hootpaw watched with a raised brow as her brother left with a small patrol of healers and her sister approached Risingbrook. She huffed quietly from her position where she was perched in the shade of a bush after a meal. Why do I feel like there is something that neither of them are telling me? She thought inquisitively. In fact, many cats within the clan seemed to be up to something. Earlier, she'd watched Whitepaw and Butterflypaw leave camp without a scout or their mentors. She still couldn't help feeling as though she'd rather completely avoid the discussion of Whitepaw and her newly 'special' siblings; she wouldn't get involved in the matters of their escaping. There must be something weird in the prey, she thought with an amused snort.
After a morning of leisurely lounging, she was beginning to feel the need to expel energy. Another glance at her blue-grey mentor left her rolling her eyes - yet again he was staring at Drizzlefur with a look that she'd become familiar with. It was timid and happy and sweet all in one blink. Hootpaw's claws scratched over the earth as she pawed at it. Why can't everyone be normal? Rolling her eyes, she decided that she would take a page from Whitepaw and Butterflypaw's book and sneak from the camp without the protection of a scout. "It's not like anyone is going to notice," she mumbled.
After ensuring that the coast was clear, she slipped out of camp through a passage in the camp wall. She knew that she would need to tread lightly as she distanced herself from camp so as to avoid being detected. Once she was satisfied, she relaxed her posture and padded aimlessly through the territory. Pausing every now and again, she took time to sniff the air, cautious of being discovered by a patrol. Her ears perked curiously when a scent did hit her nose - one she wasn't expecting. Hootpaw dropped into a hunting crouch and slipped through the undergrowth, she soon caught sight of the peculiar being. Ripplepaw clearly wasn't taking care to avoid being detected and a quick scan showed that she was without a scout or mentor, too. I guess everyone is feeling rebellious today, she smirked to herself.
Moving around, Hootpaw positioned herself for the perfect pounce. Once Ripplepaw was close enough, Hootpaw burst from the undergrowth and knocked against Ripplepaw's side with enough force to knock the both of them down to the ground. Hootpaw scrambled atop the leaf-litter and spun to face the black molly with a look of immodest pride, "Betcha weren't expecting that!" She puffed out her chest.

Risingbrook With - drizzlefur Location - camp Tag - aether
Risingbrook felt his heart rate drastically increase as he saw Drizzlefur look at him and start walking to him. His heart was thumping so loudly he was sure everyone could hear it. He wondered what to say as Drizzlefur came closer, his whiskers twitching nervously. He mentally relaxed a little as Drizzlefur started off the conversation. "I'm fine. More than fine actually. Especially with you around." His tail twitched awkwardly as he hastily corrected, "I mean with... you know what? Never mind." He twitched his tail again, at a loss for words. This conversation was not a good start. He calmed himself down. Trying once more to reply, he said, "I'm alright, a little concerned about Turtlestream, though. What about you?" This was a severe understatement, as Turtlestream was all Risingbrook could think of. Well, mostly. Risingbrook was clearly admiring Drizzlefur again, his eyes seemingly enchanted.

Feathertalon can I make these cats? I won't be rping them too much but since a patrol is going to scarmaw's lair...
Whirlpool / rogue / 36 moons / tom battle-scarred blue tom with white markings [cunning - sly - smart - brainy] brother to Waterfall
Waterfall / rogue/ 36 moons / molly battle-scarred blue molly with black patches [determined - fiery - outspoken - brawny] sister to Whirlpool
They live on the other side of Scarmaw' Lair, and they sometimes kill crocs for fun. Most loners and rogues avoid them at all costs.

Ripplepawwith hootpaw aether Ripplepaw squeaked in surprise, the appearance of the black molly scaring her. "Oh sweet Oceans, Hootpaw, I really didn't expect that!"
Scrambling to her paws, she flicked her ears in amusement. It was nice to feel noticed, she realized with a flutter of happiness. Maybe my Clanmates aren't all that bad.
"What're you doing here," she muttered, trying to start some small talk. She sniffed the air, and determined Hootpaw was also alone without a scout or her mentor to accompany her. This realization caused her muscles to relax; she didn't have to worry about getting caught.
She thought of the blue stone once more; did it mean something? Probably not, I'm just dramatic, she thought, her heart still brimming with hope.

Saltwhisker frowned, the molly's worry shaking his confidence. He felt Algaewing was far more skilled than him, and if she didn't know what to do, how would he?
He sighed, taking a step towards her. "I know. We can only rely on our knowledge and the countless experiments and observations we'll have to live through," he hesitated, his voice shaky, "and I don't think this is about your f-father, or-or anything. Things just happen sometimes, y'know?"
Stupid, stupid, stupid Saltwhisker! Why must I be so hesitant and insecure sounding, he thought miserably, his mind clouded with a sudden urge to run away from the scene. He felt he was socially incapable sometimes.

algaewing with saltwhisker (☾—ivy。˚⊹♪:¨ · )
Algaewing huffed at the shakiness in her cohort's voice. "Come now, Saltwhisker, I don't need a yes man, I need a partner in crime!" The poor cat looked ready to run away, so she softened. Just a little. "I appreciate it, though. My father may have done stupid things but I don't believe the Ocean would be so petty."
She gathered her herbs. "Honestly, what you need is a dose of confidence and a little more faith in yourself. Both you and Seabreeze. Dawdling like she did because of self-doubt can cause disaster. I like to think the wrong action is still better than inaction." Her whiskers twitched. "Then again, you wouldn't want to become an arrogant hardhead like me."
Algaewing gestured in the direction of camp. "Come on, then. Might as well start our tests and experiments, hm? You can start a new course of experimental treatment on me - the itching's started up again."
butterflypaw with whitepaw (Feathertalon )
"Not the entire Clan looks at you weird," Butterflypaw. She dared step close enough to brush pelts with Whitepaw, then back, making it seem like a happenstance while the two squeezed between two close trees. I'm still here. "Besides, I think it's dumb to judge someone because of their family." She shrugged her shoulders. "Then again, I might be biased. And also calling our good friend Hootpaw dumb. Sorry not sorry."
Butterflypaw's whiskers twitched in amusement at Tigerpaw rambling about Coconutfall. "I'm glad he's doing alright. I'll take excited Tigerpaw over sad Tigerpaw any day."
She sniffed the air, looked around. "I don't see the boa. Yet. Hear any slithering sounds?"
Then, because Butterflypaw was not just a dumb cat with a crush - she was a conniving cat with a crush - she hopped off a fallen tree log and pretended to get stuck within the thorny tangle of a bush. Oh, to be rescued from the thorns! The thought of Whitepaw that close to her made her heart race.
Then proceeded to get actually stuck. "Ack! Whitepaw! I think I need help!"
basiltail with crocodilefang and whalespirit (swallowtail )
Basiltail looked back and forth between Crocodilefang and Whalespirit as if watching two beetles face off in combat. "You don't seem scared, Whalespirit!" Basiltail piped up. "Wanna fight off a croc?" He nodded up ahead. "Scarmaw's Lair is soon upon us - your chance is coming up!"
duskflight with redwave
Duskflight watched Redwave from afar, tail brushing against the sands. He stayed a respectful distance away as to not overhear Redwave's conversation with Archwhisker - Duskflight was a busybody, not an eavesdropper. Besides, the Ocean's waves had much to roar, splashing against the shore.
Oh, Ocean, he thought, sorrow deep in his heart, how I once trusted you. Now look what you've wrought.
Redwave's mood had clearly not improved. Worsened, even. Which is fine. For Duskflight's purposes, perhaps a bad mood would work even better. See, the old tom had considered the new neophyte choice, not necessarily on who would be best to lead, but on who would want it the most. Who would have not just the self-confidence but the sense of self-righteousness to challenge Tigerpaw for the title. Algaewing might have the confidence, but she liked her herbs too much to think about anything else. Lilypool was too quiet, too flighty. No, the one cat who may suit Duskflight's plans was the one who's been the most outraged...
As Archwhisker walked away, Duskflight took the opportunity to catch Redwave's eye, wave him over. Redwave needs to be the first to talk - nay. The first to have the idea himself.

Whalespirit With - with crocodilefang, basiltail Location - out of camp Tag - Feathertalon, thejadestorm
Whalespirit almost stopped in his tracks. In all seriousness, he was pretty scared of crocodiles. If he had a choice, he would have refused. He could have kicked himself to let his playfulness get hold of him. But there was no backing out now. His whiskers kept twitching nervously. Be brave, Whalespirit. He was torn in two. One part of him told him to follow his instincts and back out, the other part told him to follow his adventorous nature and go in. His voice shook as he said, "Alright, I'll have to go in to discover herbs anyway. But I'll need a scout to go in with me. Do any of you dare to?" Whalespirit didn't have much heart to go in himself, but he figured since a hunter or healer needed to be accompanied by a scout at all times, if the scouts didn't want to go, he could refuse to go in shamelessly. But if they agreed... Whalespirit didn't want to think about that.

Redwave »
Redwave rolled a dangerous hiss under his tongue. ”Change the future, huh?” He echoed his uncle’s words more to himself. What sort of changes did the future need? Redwave could answer that easily, oh, he could answer that with such simplicity. The future for HibiscusClan was practically written in the water, something that even Redwave could see. The Clan needed a leader they could rely on, a leader they could trust. They needed a cat that would do what was right. If Coconutfall wasn’t going to name a proper neophyte, if he was going to insist that Tigerpaw was to be their next leader, then something needed to be done. There was no way Redwave was going to follow some illegitimate half brother of his. He would follow Algaewing if the Ocean desired it without question, and he would blindlessly follow after Lilypool if she was named as the next oracle, but any other cat and Redwave would roll his eyes at them and walk away.
The red tabby stared out to the Ocean. Nothing was said between cat and water, but Redwave knew the Ocean had called upon him for something more. He was to bring forth the change HibiscusClan needed. He could set things right. He could make things the way they needed to be.
A growl rumbled in his throat. It was thunder in his body, growing as the storm’s fury continued to build. His claws dug deeper into the sand. Think about the future, Archwhisker had said. As Redwave thought about it all he could see was a brighter future. Not only for himself, but for the Clan as a whole. Deeply he inhaled the scent of the Ocean, salty and fresh all in one. Intertwined with the brine was the aroma of the coming rain. It wouldn’t be long before the shower arrived.
Redwave turned. Now would be a good time to seek out Coastdawn, but as he padded a few steps away another figure motioning him caught his attention. The tabby paused in his steps, ears perking upward in attention. Recognition flashed in his eyes as he spotted Duskflight. Well, it wasn’t the elder he wanted, but luck could still be smiling upon him. Duskflight was a good cat to ask about Coastdawn’s whereabouts.
Fluidly the hunter made his way toward the counselor. He dipped his head in a respectful greeting. ”Stretching your legs before the storm, Duskflight?” Redwave looked back up to the elderly ginger tom as he gestured toward the gathering storm clouds. ”The beach is a good place to keep an eye on it.” The smalltalk came easy, and while Redwave wasn’t interested much in conversing about the weather, he knew he could easily slip into talking about what truly mattered to him right now.
[ archwhisker: convinces brother to finally leaves his den also archwhisker: accidentally convinces his nephew to contemplate murder ] Crocodilefang »
So badly did Crocodilefang want to spin around and give the healer a good lashing against the face, but he knew that would only make things worse. His annoyance was festering, though, hot and deep within him. Crocodilefang had already been in somewhat of a sour mood at the start of this, and Whalespirit was only making it worse. Basiltail was something of a bug underneath his skin, too, but at least Basiltail was being tolerable; his jovial, joking manner wasn’t something Crocodilefang was fond of, but he’d take that over the kit-like teasing Whalespirit was handing out right now. ”You’d best remember who you’re speaking to,” the beige tabby muttered in a dangerously low voice. That was all he’d give Whalespirit, one warning and that was it.
The dry land under paw soon gave way to maleable, wet soil. Damp pawsteps echoed in the otherwise silent morning. While still hidden under the canopy of trees, the mangroves were thinner than the lush forest the three had left behind. Watery sunlight dappled the ground ahead, decorating the area in stripes. Crocodilefang narrowed his eyes against the brightness. The sun being out was a good sign - they still had time before the rain. It also made it easier to check for any crocodiles that may be lurking around in the water. So far there was no sign of any reptile, but Crocodilefang was going to stay on the alert. Those predators knew the mangroves better than any cat around, it wouldn’t be hard for one to sneak up on the patrol.
Tuning back in to the two other toms with him, Crocodilefang listened as they exchanged words. His bobbed tail gave something of a twitch. ”We’ll head deeper into the mangroves together. This isn’t a place for us to split up,” he explained, looking over at Whalespirit and then Basiltail then back to the healer as he added, ”You look for what herbs you need while we walk. The border isn’t much further, so when we get there Basiltail and I will remark it. After that we should head out.” Not only because this was a dangerous area to begin with, but by then the rain clouds would be looming ever closer. This patrol was a necessary one, but it needed to be quick.

Whitepaw »
Whitepaw wanted to believe Butterflypaw. There was no reason for her not to, but over the past few days she had witnessed more than enough cats glancing over at her with pity or disgust. She had watched as cats actively avoided her all because of some stupid scandal she had never asked to be a part of. Her own Clanmates were treating her like she had broken the Ocean’s will on purpose. It was hard to think not every cat was against her now. Her father had been the one to break tradition, but with how cats were acting one would think Whitepaw herself had done so.
The mostly white molly let out a sigh. ”It is dumb,” she admitted. ”And it’s not like I asked for Coconutfall to be my father, because I wish he wasn’t. I’m glad Sandheart is my mother, and I’m glad she gets to be happy now, I guess, but…” She trailed off, looking away. Her face scrunched in such a way that suggested she had more to say, but before she could get the chance she felt the briefest of touches as her calico companion brushed against her. Instantly her mind buzzed as warm electricity ran up her spine. Her fur fluffed, eyes wide. Thudding against her chest was her heart. She stood there, everything else Butterflypaw saying falling on deaf ears. Whitepaw was focused only on the lingering feeling of Butterflypaw brushing against her. It was a phantom touch now, long gone, but she had not forgotten the feeling, even if it had been quick.
A sudden squeak snapped Whitepaw out of her longing swoon. Instinct pulled her forward, muscles gathering underneath her pelt as she shot forward. ”Butterflypaw! Are you okay? Is it the boa?” Worry drenched her question as she paused in front of the bush her Clanmate was stuck in. Quickly Whitepaw drew in a breath; there was no fresh scent of boa around, but that didn’t quell the paranoia that thundered in the back of her mind. ”I’ll get you out,” she promised, already trying to form a plan on how to get Butterflypaw out without harming her.

Saltwhiskerwith algaewing thejadestorm
The tom's pelt bristled. He was taken aback by Algaewing's sudden comment about his need for confidence. Irritated, he lashed his tail a couple of times. If it weren't for me, Swiftsplash would've been dead there and then! His head pounded in annoyance. It's not my fault some healers go out of camp at all the wrong times! I don't need any confidence, Algaewing's wrong! I have all the confidence I need, but unlike her, I try not to upset cats with my remarks.
With a nod of acknowledgement, he turned to the she-cat. "Alright. I have some ideas on how we could get this treatment going," he mewed, half-hissing due to her previous comment. His mind was brimming with thoughts. Maybe aloe could work for the strange rashes?
His gaze darted from herb to herb. This was one of the hardest treatments he's had to come up with in his short time as a healer, and he knew he would not solve the mite problem by himself or easily. With a pang of surprise, he realized how hard this would've been without his fellow healers.

Ebony with nobody; starter
Ebony's eyes narrowed at something in the distance. Her surroundings were unfamiliar to her; it appeared she was in some sort of forest. She could still hear the ocean's waves kicking the shore somewhere.
A significantly smaller replica of herself appeared to be walking through said forest. Her eyes watered, only one thought coursing through her mind. My dear kit!
Her jaws dropped, and she leaned forward to mew a greeting. "Opal! Opal, it's me! Opal!"
The cat turned around briefly, her bluebell eyes widening in fury and shock as she recognized the lithe form of her mother. She ran forward, vanishing into one of the many shadows the forest was home to, much to Ebony's demise.
She opened her eyes, misery clouding her thoughts. Another dream. Another dream, and this time it was about one of her kits despising her for doing what she did. Her heat clenched as she thought of all the hardships theym must've suffered through during their time in the world; how did they cope with her absence? Did they find their place in this world?

Bluepoolwith open !! The blue-eyed she-cat hissed, her claws latching onto the sand beneath her. Her mother was right. This was too much, too much for anycat. Too much for them. Too much for her.
She sighed, her claws now sheathed. "I wouldn't mind a world without this," she spat, dignity mixed with the coldness of her voice. She was mad. Mad at everyone, mad at the Ocean, mad at herself. Mad at every single cat she came across.
Her fur bristled, and she walked away from the Ocean. She was too much like her mother in every way. They both seemed to be going insane.
Having rogue backgrounds was hard, especially when your mother doesn't want to tell you anything about your kin. Geckotail was very sensitive whenever she tried to bring it up, and that irritated her. She shouldn't have to be ashamed of who she was!
A growl escaped her clenched jaws as she trotted back to camp. I'll show them who Bluepool truly is. I will no longer crouch in my mother's shadow!

algaewing with saltwhisker (☾—ivy。˚⊹♪:¨ · ) at palm coast
((this conflict is interesting, i'm going to push it a little further))
Saltwhisker's pelt bristling did not go unnoticed by Algaewing. Something got him defensive, though the clueless healer, still more focused on the plants between her paws than the cats before her, couldn't imagine what.
"Sure, let's talk while heading back to camp," she said, picking up her herbs and setting off at a stride. "Meanwhile, what's gotten you all upset? You weren't practically hissing at me earlier."
Some frustration snuck under her pelt. "What is with cats and not speaking their minds? Honestly, things would be so much easier if everyone were more upfront. I hate guessing games."
butterflypaw with whitepaw (Feathertalon ) at gecko ravine
"I think I'm stuck," Butterflypaw mewed, trying to tug her coat out of the snarled claws of the thorns. They only threatened to yank her fur out the more she tugged. "Ow."
She looked up at Whitepaw with wide eyes. "My hero," she said, resisting the urge to purr because she's not trying to be too obvious. "Maybe... if we work thorn by thorn? I'm okay if I don't move."
Something sharp prodded her in the back, and Butterflypaw winced. This may have been a stupid idea. Then Whitepaw drew closer, and Butterflypaw's brain blanked. Never mind, this was a genius idea.
Unfortunately, danger was lurking, rustling in the ferns not too far from them...
((what if boa sneaks into view they must hide close together))
basiltail with crocodilefang and whalespirit (swallowtail )
"What, into the heart of the croc's lair? Nah!" chirped Basiltail to Whalespirit. "I'm a coward who likes to live a long, fruitful life!" There was no shame in his demeanor, but a candid response. "Hopefully the herbs you need will be along the border."
As he padded after Crocodilefang, Basiltail looked up at the swirling clouds. "Do you like rainy weather, Crocodilefang?" he meowed as the three trekked through the mangroves. "I'll bet it makes you feel right at home - they certainly suit your stormy mood!" duskflight with open
"Certainly," Duskflight rumbled, eyes on the dark clouds that the winds carried over the ocean. "Though I do not mind a storm. A storm, as much chaos as it can bring, is a necessary force of nature; rains to nourish the lands, winds to pull down weak and damaged woods. Destruction can be a necessity."
His eyes flickered to Redwave. "How about you, then?" he said. "Enjoying the crisp air that hits just before it rains?"
He shifted his weight in the sands. "I've spoken with your mother recently. She seems worried for you." His gaze was careful. "Now I know you're a cat who's fully capable of taking care of himself, but an elder's habit never grows old. How are you holding up?"

mintsong open! in healer's den
Mintsong burst into the healer's den, practically snarling with hot, bitter frustration, pawing at her ears. The itching was unbearable, but it seemed the more she clawed at her own head the more it only scraped her skin, bringing fresh pain anew.
"I need something! Your stupid poultice isn't working!" She scoured the den with a burning gaze, seeing only Turtlestream and Swiftsplash curled up in their nests. Where'd all the healers go? Again!
Desperate for relief, she poked her nose into the herb stocks, sniffing, desperate to comb out the scent of whatever lime thing the healers used last time. But the herbs all smelled the same to her, sharp and bitter scents overpowering enough to give her a headache.
She finally pulled out some skinny green leaves with a strong, garlic-y scent. It was some leaf poultice, wasn't it? Chewing up the herbs and gagging at the bitter taste (how do healers deal?) before rubbing the concoction on her itchy ears.
Mintsong waited, breathing slowing. She'd probably sat there, patting herbs back into place, for ten minutes, maybe more, hoping -
The itching didn't go. Instead, like a stoked flame, it raged.
Mintsong cried out in pain, slumping to the ground and pawing at her ears, squashing them to her head, rubbing them, all but clawing them off. "This is all your fault!" she hissed to a sleeping Swiftsplash. "Why'd you have to go fight that boa? Why did I have to help you?"
She knew it was unfair, but the scout was sleeping, and she was in pain. Despite her pride, Mintsong could only stay and pray the healers would be back soon.
((wouldnt it be funny if mintsong accidentally stumbled upon neem but also she's super allergic))
