You walked through the forest, to afraid to head down into the canyon that was below them. You hadn't eaten in days and it was starting to weigh on you. Settling onto a tree to take a short rest, you hear pawsteps running at you. It was a rabbit, you got ready to pounce, only for a shape to jump out of the tree and on to the rabbit. The cat gave a quick bite to it's neck. Two more cats appeared and all three soon took notice of you. "Hello there stranger," the cat from the tree said. "I'm Crimsoncloud, the tom spoke out. "You look worse for wear, come with me. We will take you back to camp where you can rest and have a bite to eat." Without much of a rsponse the three cats headed off, with Crimsoncloud shotting a look back at you, beckoning with his tail.
Craterclan is the sister clan to Cliffclan. They reside up in the forest that makes up the top of the canyon. Craterclan's camp is located in a denser part of the forest, with the dens dug amongst entertwined tree roots and built structures, made of woven branches. They try to stay on good terms with their sister clan and any outside cats, but aren't afraid to defend what is theirs.
Craterclan's prey consists of mostly rodents, rabbits and birds. Their enemies range from foxes, coyotes, bears, occassionally hawks and owls, with chances of badgers in warmer seasons.
History
Craterclan's history comes from cats from Cliffclan. With a rogue named Crater, who couldn't get used to the living in caves, and after receiving permission, he and a few other cats left the clan and made their home up in the forest. They made sure to stay close to friends and family they left behind. Once finding a suitable place they set up in making their home permanent. |

"Hey Lightpaw," the older apprentice said, waving her tail in greeting to the younger. "Did you sleep well?" She gave a smile to the other apprentice. She couldn't help but briefly glance to the other cat's missing leg, she didn't doubt the others ability, but it did make her want to look out as much as she could for Lightpaw.

Wrenpaw ~ In Camp
The young male cat, Wrenpaw, blinked his eyes open in response to the talking he heard from outside the apprentice's den. He figured everyone was already up, getting ready to face the day ahead of them. He stretched out his forepaws in front of him and let out a massive yawn, licking his jaws after he did so. He swore one of the cats he heard outside was his sister, Lightpaw, so he got to his feet and began to pad outside. The sunlight hit him in the face as he exited, causing him to close his eyes for a moment. When he opened them, he saw Lightpaw and Basilpaw in conversation not too far from him. He slowly approached his two clanmates, hoping he could jump in. Realizing the two were already talking, he politely remained silent, as to not interrupt anything.

Lightpaw stood there, waiting to learn if the older apprentice had slept well when she heard footsteps from behind her. She turned around and saw that her brother had woken up and was walking out of the apprentices den.

"I did, thank you," she said offering another smile. She spotted Wrenpaw leaving the den, waving her tail for the other apprentice to join the conversation, not minding the other cat joining in. "Did you sleep well Wrenpaw?" The lilac tabby she cat settled on the ground wrapping her tail around her paws.

He wanted to touch noses with his sister as she faced him, as if to say good morning to her, but his nerves got the best of him, and his attention was brought elsewhere anyways. He didn’t expect to be accepted by anyone. He pricked his ears in surprise as his fellow apprentice, Basilpaw, directed the question toward him. He smiled, and cleared his throat before speaking. First he nodded. “I did, too,” he answered happily, pleased to be interacted with. When he was a kit, the others often made fun of his size. Even if it were in good spirit, it still hurt him and he couldn’t forget all the times he felt embarrassed about the body he was born with. But he wasn’t about to open up about that anytime soon. He looked for something else friendly to say. “I hope we get to go on patrol today!” He finally blurted. “I need to stretch my legs… Chasing after a rabbit would be perfect,” he finished, suddenly feeling hungry for breakfast. |

"I'm sure patrols will set put soon," Basilpaw smiled to him. "I feel that, getting to go out in the morning is the best." She loved the morning air, it felt different compared to the rest of the day. She observed the camp in thought for a few moments before directing her attention back to the other apprentices. "How is your training going along?" It seemed like a good conversation to have with them, as she had yet to learn more about them yet, so it would be good to do more ice breakers for now.

"Good," Lightpaw said, answering the older apprentice, "Though I can't seem to hunt correctly. As I can't seem to get the hunters crouch correct or something. I don't know but my mentor keeps having to remind me how to do the hunters crouch even though I understand it."

Wrenpaw gave his sister a glance. "Maybe... you just need to trust yourself more. We can practice someday if you want," his tail curled up in joy at the thought of spending time with his littermate. He gazed down at her missing leg with a thoughtful expression. "Maybe you'll have to be creative and trust your own instincts." He held back a wince. He wasn't quite sure if Lightpaw exactly enjoyed her lack of four paws being brought up. He had always tried to be careful about the subject. Because the truth was, Lightpaw is as much of a capable warrior as the rest of the cats in the clan. He didn't want her thinking otherwise, because he understood how it felt to be somewhat of an outlier. And the young cat had a strong love for his family, who had always made him feel safe. But, he realized he was lost in thought. Basilpaw had directed the question toward him, too. "Well..." He began, shuffling his paws. "I can't seem to take my own advice," he admitted. "I get nervous a lot when I'm overthinking my form, and I start to stumble." He took a deep breath. That was a big confession. He then perked up a little. "But, I do some things really good!" He was trying to be positive, to set an example for the others. |
