I'm interested in maybe finding some people to RP with, but I live in New Zealand... How do people generally deal with timezones in their RPs? In the past it's made RPing a lot faster and easier when I was on online at the same time as people, but that's back when I had endless free time, as compared to now. And the NZ timezone is pretty much the worst for overlapping with others, compared to the USA I'm permanently in the future.

It's honestly the same with me. I live in Australia, so it's always pretty hard to find the right time zones. Honestly, its a lot harder on these forums to find someone on at times in the rps you're on than the old forums when there was at least one person on to rp with. I can't really say much except for try to find an Rp that you may enjoy and stick to it. You'll definitely have very contrasting times that you're on, but there's not much you can do. There will be times that you overlap, but that's usually very late at night or early morning up to lunch time.

I understand that pain! Do people discourage people from weird timezones from joining?

They don't. They're all pretty chill about the timezone difference. It's just that it won't be as active for you when rping, and there will be cases where an rp has 10 extra pages the next time you log back on.
