So, for some reason there isn't a thread about this yet, so I decided to create one. What did you think about the book? To be honest, I was a bit disappointed by it. Tui seemingly realized that trying to juggle ten dragon and a human was a little too difficult, so she split them up and most of them didn't do anything important as a result. The only characters who actually did things that moved the plot were Luna, Pineapple, Moon and Wren. But Luna, the protagonist, was asleep in the mindspace for most of the book, while Pineapple defeated Queen Wasp – who also only appeared in this one very brief scene. The original main villain of the series was completely shafted in favor of Cottonmouth and Freedom. A large portion of the book was just spent on talking and watching memories, and even though seeing the Scorching was probably my favorite part of the book, I would have liked to have more action scenes. Tui had the opportunity to have Luna fight her mind controlled friends, maybe even Blue and Swordtail, but it just didn't happen. Freedom was a great character, I liked her a lot. She was Darkstalker done right, deciding to die voluntarily. I also enjoyed Axolotl, the Pineapple x Jambu scenes and Duskyʼs relationship with Luna. Even though Swordtail was better in this book, I'm still not a fan of him. I'm just pissed that the Othermind was defeated so easily, the book is called The Flames of Hope, and the flamesilk did absolutely nothing. I also think the epilogue was rushed, I'm happy that Jewel is the queen of the HiveWings now, because I actually predicted this, but I think everything else was too vague. The HiveWings didn't really get a punishment except for the Hive rulers, and they just continue living without any consequences. They even stated that some HiveWings still treat the SilkWings like slaves, they definitely need to be punished or they'll just try to walk all over the SilkWings again. And I don't really get the whole LeafSilk kingdom thing, why did the two tribes unite? Why are they ruled by a council now, what happened to Queen Sequoia and Hazel? And please don't let the next books, if we'll even get any, be about dragons and humans living together… All in all, even though I didn't dislike this book, I just think it was messy and didn't really feel like Tui actually wrote it.

Well it was mentioned that Belladona and other Leafwings were the ones who are dealing with the Hivewings who are causing trouble.
I think the council only applies to Silkwings. Since they probably got a queen if Monarch had left a descendant. I think if more a we live together but we got our queen to rule us and you got your council to rule you.
