The TFH came out and surprisingly reveals us how the Scorching came to be.
The humans wanted to train dragons so their empires could gain power.They started to steal dragon eggs from their mothers.
This promptly arise the anger of the mother dragons and started to set ablaze the human empires. As it is mentioned it was the first females who got their eggs stolen who started everything.
With this revelation the concept of queen is now seen on a whole new different angle. The first queens could have been those first mothers whose eggs got stolen. Not wanting for someone else to go through the same thing they began their attack. Other dragons must have seen these females as a symbol of hope. So they joined a female with closer characteristics to them and helped on their attack.
A mother is mean to protect her children. In the beginning perhaps a queen was seen as the mother of all the dragons of their respective tribe. Someone who kept them safe.
