Age 1000 - Earth
A mysterious sage has issued a proclamation to the entirety of the universe stating "Let the mightiest warriors of the universe gather here and fight to decide the Strongest in the Universe! They who have claimed the title shall have one wish fulfilled by the mighty dragon god!" With this the Earth soon became flooded with warriors seeking to have their wish fulfilled. To avoid complete anarchy and destruction the Universal Patrol has partnered with Capsule Corporation and together they have created the Universal Royale - a tournament said to be the largest in the history of the Universe. Who will win? What will their wish be? And why was this tournament started in the first place? Find out all this and more in this action packed Dragon Ball Adventure!
The Setting
Taking place just over 200 years after the end of Z this RP is set in a universe very different from the one we know and love. I have taken a lot of elements from Dragon Ball Online and the lore contained within but with some tweaks. To start this off let's discuss the fate of our beloved characters. The vast majority of the original cast has died save for Dende, Piccolo, The Kais, Whis, and Beerus. However the decisions of some characters have had long lasting effects on Earth and the Universe at large. The biggest difference has been the dissemination of knowledge on Ki and Magic. Knowledge of these have spread to nearly the entire Universe with Earth being the center of these studies leading to the rising prominence of Earth within the universe and the technologies of Capsule Corporation spreading to all four galaxies. It also allowed the Galactic Patrol to enlarge its ranks and spread throughout the universe leading to it rebranding as the Universal Patrol. Through its efforts the universe has gained a seemingly unending peace. Another large change is the recovery of the Saiyan Race. Earth now hosts a large minority of both the Saiyans and an entirely new race - the Buu Race. Formed from Majin Buu's desire to have a family these people have quickly formed a large presence on the planet. Perhaps the biggest change in the universe is the extinction of the Namekian Race and the destruction of the Dragon Balls. After so many tragedies being caused by the Dragon Balls Dende and Piccolo decided to remove all knowledge and memory of them from the minds of the universe and then destroyed them. This sums up just about all the major changes.
Rules
- No canon characters or clones. Like I said this takes place a long time after the anime.
- Your characters cannot transform. The power levels of your characters will have to fall into the Early Saiyan Saga range with characters being no stronger than Raditz would have been
- Do not godmod or powerplay. The winner of fights in the tournament will be chosen randomly as well as the matchups
- Keep Romance/Violence PG. The show never felt the need to go farther and neither should we
- I want at least four sentences per response. This gives people more to work with (it can be broken on occasion just don't make a habit of it)
- Keep out of character chat to a minimum. I just don't want full pages of ooc chat
-Follow all Forum and Proboards rules. This should go without saying

Additional Information
The Universal Royale
The tournament itself will not start for quite a while. Instead the participants must make it through the Preliminaries. These preliminaries will take place in 8 as of yet undisclosed locations. At each location several hundred fighters will all participate in a massive battle royale with the two remaining fighters being granted a spot in the tournament. The tournament proper with be your standard tournament fare - 16 fighters participating in 1x1 battles until one fighter remains.
The Spread of Ki and Magic
The spread of Ki and Magic occurred very rapdily with later being spurred on by the former. The spread of Ki occured when the Saiyan Son Gohan released a paper documenting and instructing how to activate and utilize Ki. Not soon after several member of the Z-Fighters opened up their own martial art schools that taught their pupils how to use Ki. With more and more people learning how to use Ki the scientific community soon accepted Ki as a legitimate field of study with the general populace accepting it's existence soon after. This also spurred extensive research into Magic as well. With Earth making contact with the rest of the universe soon after these powers spread like wildfire throughout it.
The Saiyans
The Modern Saiyans are both quite similar and different to their ancestors. While they still seek out conflict it often manifests in other ways due to their diluted blood. This has led to a boom in Saiyan scholars, artists, etc. The more pure blooded a Saiyan is the more drawn to battle they will become. Modern Saiyans also exhibit a much larger variety of features due to their exstensive mingling with humans. A curious mutation among the Modern Saiyans has resulted in the loss of the Ozaru form. These differences between the Old and Modern Saiyans has led to the creation of a faction called the Neo-Sadalans who wish for a return to more traditional Saiyan values.
The Buu Race
The offspring of Majin Buu these people have innate magical powers. While much smaller in number than the Saiyans they also have a sizable population on Earth. They are most often employed in fields that require the assistance of Magicians in addition to often hosting children's shows. They are well regarded for their child-like innocence and jolly nature. The King of Earth has a Royal Guard solely comprised of the Buu Race.
The Neo-Sadalans
The Neo-Sadalans are a faction of Saiyans calling for a return to more traditional Saiyan values. Their biggest complaint is the eroding of the warrior culture that once defined the Saiyans. To that end they have founded a martial arts school called the Ozaru school that will take Saiyans and Saiyans only. They have adopted a battle armor reminiscent of old Sadalan armor on call it Neo-Sadalan Armor. The have also adopted the seal of the Royal Family of Vegeta as their own and is proudly worn on their armor. They represent a small but very powerful minority among the Saiyans numbering in the low thousands. Their numbers grow larger everyday as young Saiyans who feel a desire to differentiate themselves from their peers continue to join. The leader and founder of this movement is a man called Rhuba.

Martial Arts Schools
The New Turtle School
This school was founded by Krillin - a pupil of Roshi the Turtle Hermit who founded the original Turtle School. The school focuses primarily on defense. Students are taught to defend themselves from the opponents attacks and exploit the enemy's mistakes. This school is very useful for fighting stronger opponents and has gained incredible popularity due to it.
The New Crane School
This school was co-founded by Tien Shinhan and Chiaotzu who were both pupils of Shen the Crane Hermit who founded the original Crane School. The school focuses increasing students Ki capacity in order to enable the use of several powerful attacks in a row. Students of this school are encouraged to train under many masters and schools all while forging their own path.
The Wolf School
This school was founded by Yamcha. The school focuses on delivering fast and accurate attacks with the famous Wolf Fang Fist being the ultimate example of this fighting style. It is considered very flashy and has a large presence within the media and is the most popular of all the schools.
The Ape School
This school was founded by Tarble. The school teaches traditional Saiyan techniques and focuses on Ki attacks and the manipulation of Ki. Meditation is just as common as sparring for the students of this school. While teaching traditional Saiyan techniques it has largely removed the more violent aspects of Saiyan Combat. While founded by a Saiyan this school is open to anyone who wishes to join.
The Kikoukenjutsu Sword School
This school was co-founded Trunks Briefs and Son Goten. The school focuses on the manipulation of Ki into swords. It teaches the students many different ways to wield these Ki blades and the use of it is banned by many tournaments due to its inherent lethality.
The Dragon School
While formally founded by Uub the creation of the techniques and battle style are attributed to Son Goku. This school is considered a more aggressive offshoot of the Turtle School. Students in this school are encouraged to take the initiative and press forward in battle. There is a large emphasis on counters and misdirection. The school is highly exclusive and only accepts the highly talented.
The Ozaru School
This school is very young only having been founded in Age 984 by Rhuba. This school is considered a more aggressive offshoot of the Ape School. It focuses on the cultivation of its students stamina to allow for its unrelenting attacks. Practitioners of this style will use sheer volume of attacks to wear down and overwhelm their opponents. Only Saiyans belonging to the Neo-Sadalans are allowed to study this school.

Appearance: Mayz is slightly taller tan average with muscular build but isn't overly so. He has long black hair that sticks out back behind his head. His bangs fall just past his eyebrows and his sideburns stop just short of where his jaw begins. Two particularly large tufts of hair run parallel to his hair almost resembling horns. There are smaller tufts that stick out to the sides. His eyes are black as well. He has scars on the right side of his lips and brow and a particularly large one in the center of his chest. He typically wears a set of dark navy Neo-Sadalan armor with the shoulder pauldrons removed. He wears a very dark blue undersuit that stops halfway down his biceps and thighs. His tail swings freely as if daring his opponents to grab it and often gives away his emotions.
Personality: Mayz is a very self-assured person who has almost unending self confidence though it can occasionally be shaken quite considerably. He has built his entire identity around battle and his strength and so he takes it quite hard when he loses. As a battle junkie he spends most of his time training, eating, and sleeping. His desire for a good fight often leads to him occasionally making less then ideal decisions. He will rarely start a fight full power as he likes to enjoy his fights even if it leaves him dangerously exhausted. Outside of battle he will rarely hide his power level as it is a point of pride for him. He has a bit of a cruel streak as he likes to toy with weaker opponents as he sees it as an insult that someone so weak would dare fight him.
History: He's been trained since a young age in the Ozaru School by his father Rhuba. He's considered second only to Rhuba in skill within the school and and has become an instructor for the younger Saiyans. He is the direct descendant of Broly through his mother Korianda and his grandfather Burussels.
Other: He makes heavy use of grapples in his fighting style and shows no qualms using particularly brutal methods. Despite being a student of the Ozaru school he shows great promise with the manipulation of Ki.

((It's been about two and half years since I first made this rp. It eventually died off but now I've decided it's time to reboot this rp. Hopefully there's still an appetite for a rp like this))
