I was honestly not surprised that Moonwatcher chose Qibli over Winter, but what do you guys think? Do you think Winter would have been the right choice for Moon?

Not really honestly. I always thought that Winter was a bit too prickly for Moon.

Well, I'm not a fan of Winterwatcher or Moonbli, but even though I like Winter more, I think Qibli was the better choice.
He's a genuinely nice guy who openly cares about Moon, while Winter is just a prickly jerk towards her.
So yeah, even though it was rushed and meaningless, I think Qibli and Moon are way more compatible than Winter and Moon.

I don't really care for either ship, but I was never fond of the "misunderstood, edgy love interest" archetype, and Qibli's internal moral compass struggle was entertaining. Glad she chose him

In my opinion, I think Moonwatcher did good to choose Qibli over Winter, no offense to clarifly at all but Winter is a salt bag while Qibli and Moonwatcher seemed to grow more fond with each other in the book
Qibli has more of that 'kind guy' personality who defends Moonwatcher and cares for her alot but if I imagine it with Winter i'll think differently for how Winter would treat Moonwatcher more differently but now that I think i'm about it i'm neutral on the Moonbli and the Winterwatcher ships, but either way Qibli might've been a good choice

Yes, moon was right to choose Qibli over Winter, as he is more open minded, friendly and just a better romantic partner than winter overall. If moon and winter were to get together, it would def be some type of abusive/toxic relationship. |

Yes.
She should be with whoever she wants, and she wanted Qibli.
That being said, I don’t think Qibli and Moon’s relationship was developed as well as Moon’s and Winter’s.
I love what Tui had in mind when she wanted Moon to choose the nicer guy but she just didn’t execute as well as she could have in my opinion.
I didn’t like that despite all Winter’s character development, she had to make him a jerk again in Darkness of Dragons so Qibli would look like the better option.
Liking Qibli more is enough of a reason for Moon to choose him but in the epilogue of DoD, Moon basically admits she loved them both but Qibli just treated her better.

Well, honestly I think that Winter would have been a better choice further on down the line. I can see how Tui chose Qibli, and he is very caring about Moon constantly, whereas Winter has been a bit of a jerk at times. But this could have less to some very interesting subplots, and Moonbli is just so... Easy. That sounds harsh, but there is no evidence that Moon likes Qibli, and he acts like more of a friend than a lover. Whereas, in their time alone, Moon and Winter were always awkward, and kinda shy.
I find it very hard to overlook another missed moral/idea - Foeslayer and Arcit caused so much pain by being together, Nightwing and Icewing. The tribes were enemies ever since, Darkstalker happened and the Icewings no longer have animus dragons.
Wouldn't it be so poetically ironic if another Icewing-Nightwing couple stopped all that? They could have taken down Darkstalker, proving that Nightwings could be good.
It was suggested that Moonwatcher could have been one of Darkstalker's descendants and therefore have animus powers. If she and winter were together, they could ahev brought animus blood back to the icewings, therefore solving that problem.
However, I can't see much happening with Qibli, and although he has a very caring personality and cares deeply about Moon, this is just so random - Winter's love was developed so much more in his book that Qibli's ever was. This is proven in the way that Winter hates himself for loving her, but he can't help it. Can't help imagining them together, always thinking about her, and doesn't care what anyone thinks.
To me, Qibli and Moon aren't very compatible either, their personalities seem to indicate that they should be good friends, not lovers. Winter and Moon, however counteract eachother.
Another interesting turn that I also believe should have been followed up, would be Qinter. Their personalities counteract so well, and they already have more romantic chemistry than has been strung between either Moonbli or Winterwatcher.
This is just my opinion, what do y'all think?

I'm really, really torn between Moonbli, Winterwatcher, and Quinter..... so I'm just going with Quinterwatcher for now.
