A lot of people already know that the common fan depiction of Scourge killing Tigerstar by slicing him open as Tigerstar jumps over him is inaccurate (in the books, Scourge just swipes Tigerstar's paws out from under him and then tears him open while he's on the floor). I'm not here to discuss that. What I am curious about is what was the first fanwork to actually depict this alternate death? It must have been a very influential work to influence so many creators.

In my opinion it was ginjaninjaOwO’s animation all that time ago that kinda spread it around. Still holds up beautifully I’d say. Love the voice work

Because in this video, Tigerstar is actually killed in a manner exactly as described in the books, with Scourge dodging his lunge, slashing his leg so he falls, and then delivering a finishing blow to a floored Tigerstar This is actually very much unlike the stereotypical fanon depiction.

Could it be from the way it was shown in Rise of Scourge? The way the artist depicted Tigerstar's death does kinda make it look like Scourge sliced'n'diced him as Tigerstar was leaping at him.

Im not sure on actual dates but I feel bluekyokitty's original Tigerstar's death speedpaint was very influential, especially on deviantart and youtube. I've seen many reference this pose in their own art back in the day
