If you could rewrite the warriors series what would you change It’s been a long time since I’ve read them because I did take a break from the fandom for a few years so I can’t remember enough to have an opinion for this but I’m curious what you guys think

1. Remove the SpottedFire love thing. Unnecessary, creepy - On that note, I'd also destroy SpH. Unnecessary, butchers Spotted AND Thistle
2. Make Needletail actually own up to what she's down
3. Have Tigerheart die/not become leader and have Dawnpelt survive to become Dawnstar
4. Keep Rosepetal alive, potential deputy/leader

Make Firepaw Tigerclaw's apprentice and also make his motives not so obvious so his betray actually has some emotional weight.

Arc 1: 1. Make FireSpotted a one sided crush on Firestar’s side. 2. Don’t make Sandstorm a xenophobic bully at the start because I’ve never forgiven that part of her character. 3. Redtail should be Ashfur & Ferncloud’s dad. This series isn’t genetically accurate anyways so who cares if a male tortie had kits. It would also keep Whitestorm a monogamous saint like we remember him.
Arc 2: 1. Don’t keep Stormfur at the tribe of rushing water. 2. Have a love square with Stormfur, Ashfur, and Bramblestar all liking Squirrelflight. In the end have Squirrelflight choose Stormfur. 3. Let SquirrelBramble move on as friends or let Bramblestar be tragically in love with Squirrelflight after loosing his shot with her but in the end having him learn to accept he can’t be with Squirrelflight while Ashfur remains toxic to show contrasting ways of handling rejection.
Arc 3. 1. Squirrelflight tells Stormfur about the 3’s parentage but even is she doesn’t he connects all the dots in his own, especially with Hollykit’s resemblance to her biological father. 2. Everything else goes the same except the 3 feel even more betrayed because both their parents knew about their real parentage and Bramblestar still lies for Hollyleaf and is her mentor in this au. 3. SquirrelBramble obviously have no beef here. 4. Bramblestar’s Storm becomes a novella instead.
Arc 4: 1. No DoveBumble. Bumblestripe deserved better than this crap. Or instead have DoveBumble but have Bumblestripe loose interest in Dovewing. 2. Don’t kill of Spottedleaf a second time and don’t kill off Foxleap.
Arc 5: 1. Give Dawnpelt a leader arc. Give her a complicated relationship with her traitor brother and kids and Dovewing when she has Tigerfart’s children.
Arc 6: 1. Don’t kill off Strikestone. 2. Give Bristle more relevance and personality in book 4 & 5. 3. Have Crowfeather chose Feathertail. 2Feather are soulmates, end of story.
Btw: Yes, I’m aware a lot of this is very biased.

TPB - no FireSpotted romance to be found - either have Sandstorm not be a kittypet racist bully towards Firestar in the beginning so their relationship (both friendship and later romance) has a better starting point that doesn't annoy me or just have Firestar get with Cinderpelt (he would not be her mentor here since I would switch him and Graystripe around so he mentors Brackenfur instead) - speaking of Cinderpelt, she is not talked into becoming a medicine cat after sustaining her injury and still trains to become a warrior like her brother -Yellowfang already chose Swiftpaw's sister Lynxkit (who survived) as a healer apprentice anyways - Sandstorm either gets Fernpaw or Tawnypaw as an apprentice - Snowkit survives and becomes a warrior by the name of Snowmoon - Dustpelt either only starts getting interested in Fernpaw when she becomes Ferncloud or gets with Sandstorm
TNP - Bramblepaw is named Brambleflower instead of Brambleclaw (after his awesome mom) - his PoV is replaced by his his sister having one - Tawnypelt is the one to get Brambleclaw's original storyline in regards to Hawkfrost and training in the Dark Forest with Tigerstar - Squirrelpaw has a crush on Brambleflower which fades way soon and she gets with Crowpaw later on when they are both warriors - Crowpaw did not have a crush/relationship with Feathertail and is thus named Crowclaw like Tallstar actually intended to name him before Crowpaw made his request regarding being named after Feathertail in canon - on top of not having a PoV, Brambleflower also does not go on the sundrown quest since Squirrelpaw was "the chosen one" in this case - he later on either gets with Sorreltail (and Brackenfur) or Daisy (if DustFern has not happened like mentioned above he could also get with Ferncloud) - another option is Feathertail if he did go on the journey and their relationship developed (and Feathertail did not die in the mountains either because Stormfur replaced her or the Tribe just doesn't exist since it's portrayal was mostly bad in the first place) - HawkLeaf for the drama (not because Hawkfrost and Leafpool would ever have a healthy relationship) - Hawkfrost is a better villain who actually makes some long lasting damage (kills Onewhisker so Mudstar happens and also kills Mistyfoot so Hawkstar eventually happens instead of him getting wrecked by either of his half-siblings
That's it for now, since anything else would get too specifically AU or complicated due to all of the changes which were made by me having to do with different names, ships and plots. I'll probably write an actual Rewrite one day where most (or some) of these things happen.

TPB - Remove FirexSpotted and have it more of Spotted taking on a sisterly/mentor attachment spiritually. Spottedleaf also doesn't die until later during one of Tigerstar's schemes. (During the rogue attack or she is murdered by him. (Subplot would be Spottedleaf welcoming Yellowfang as a co-medicine cat and they bicker over Cinderpelt's training until Spotted's death.) - Sandstorm only dislikes Firestar because of the attention he receives from Bluestar and her own mentor. However, she eventually gets over it. They do become mates later in the first arc.
TNP - Instead of Brambleclaw and Squirrelflight getting together, Stormfur joins ThunderClan after Feathertail's death and becomes her mate. (He would spend some time in RiverClan before developing a similar attitude Feathertail had in her graphic novel but finding peace in ThunderClan instead.) - Ashfur still admires Squirrelflight and treats Stormfur similarly to how Brambleclaw was treated by him. - Brackenfur becomes deputy instead of Brambleclaw. - Leafpool still has her affair with Crowfeather, but it is far more developed. - Hawkfrost is actually not a "true" villain in this arc, leaving Tigerstar completely out. His intentions are instead to make RiverClan respected because of some questionable choices Leopardstar makes. (She struggles with the lake and thus tries to adapt her Clan to land prey, slowly taking territory from WindClan and ShadowClan.) - Mudclaw is made leader instead, as Firestar doesn't get involved. (He is present at the "ceremony" but tells Barkface that he cannot get involved and risk peace. It weighs on his mind because of how close he and Tallstar were.) - Instead of the rebellion, RiverClan takes a antagonistic role before being forced down. Mudstar is shown to be a capable leader, but he will always keep an eye on ThunderClan. - Hawkfrost lives through this arc and is seen as a very grumpy but extremely loyal warrior. (So Tigerstar if he was good.)
POT - Stormfur was told about the Three, as Squirrelflight and Stormfur communicate properly. He persuades Squirrelflight to raise the Three, as they can always have a litter later. Yellowfang does not lie. - Hollyleaf is one of the Three, but her power is quite finicky. She can "sense" if someone is telling the truth as well as influence one's thinking. - Ashfur finds out about the Three's heritage, as he had noticed them acting strange and began to creepily observe them, Leafpool, and Squirrelflight. He overhears Leafpool confiding in Squirrelflight about how she cannot approach her own children. - Ashfur tries to kill them, knowing it'll cause Squirrelflight great pain because she let her adoptive kits, mate, and sister down. He fails and is about to be killed by Lionblaze when Ashfur tells them the truth. Hollyleaf forces her brother to stop and admits he isn't lying. - However, they try to force him into silence, as they can tell the Clan he tried to murder them. - Squirrelflight is forced to confess, but does so with Stormfur and Leafpool there. They tell the Three the entire truth and the reasons why. Hollyleaf feels betrayed and conflicted, but knows they meant well via her power. Lionblaze can only forgive Stormfur, but hates Leafpool and Squirrelflight. Jayfeather hates all three of them. - Ashfur takes Hollyleaf's place at the Gathering. The Three speak up about his murder attempt, and Hollyleaf attempts to use her powers to sway the opinion towards them, but she fails and the Clan doesn't believe them. Ashfur is put on apprentice duties for his outburst. The Three, Squirrelflight, Leafpool, and Stormfur are ridiculed. Leafpool is forced from her position. - Ashfur is now disliked in the Clan, but he isn't happy with Squirrelflight being ridiculed. He called for her exile, but she wasn't truly punished. He attempts to kill her away from camp, but Leafpool and Lionblaze are there. Leafpool blocks the attack and is killed instead. Lionblaze manages to get a patrol before Ashfur can kill Squirrelflight. Ashfur is then exiled. - Lionblaze eventually tracks and kills Ashfur in the tunnels, knowing he is the only one to not get hurt and arouse suspicion.
OOTS - Instead of Lionblaze and Cinderheart, Lionblaze and Hollyleaf train Dovewing and Ivypool. Dovewing doesn't have any powers, but she gets tied up in a forbidden relationship with Tigerheart. Ivypool still feels inferior to Dovewing's hunting capabilities. Ivypool trains in the Dark Forest and becomes a spy. Hollyleaf accidentally uses her power on Ivypool to reveal the truth and causes a rift. - Lionblaze and Cinderheart still become a couple, Jayfeather still has Half Moon, and Hollyleaf and Foxleap get together. - The rift is repaired not long before Ivypool becomes a warrior, as Hollyleaf talks to her about feeling inferior herself to her brothers. - Ivypool becomes a spy with Lionblaze and Jayfeather first mistrusting her until Hollyleaf intervenes. Lionblaze discovers Dovewing's relationship and pressures her to break it off. (Bumble - Dove - Tiger triangle still goes on.) - The DF actually plans out attacks to weaken the Clans instead of an all-out assault. Brackenfur is killed in one of these attacks with Tigerstar planning to make one of his followers deputy. His plan is somewhat thwarted when Hollyleaf is appointed instead. - Hollyleaf's position is unsteady, as she has half the Clan's support. Others say she was appointed due to being kin to Firestar and Brackenfur's apprentice. - Leopardstar is killed in another attack, along with Littlecloud. - The Clans become alert and suspicious of each other. Each cat that died smelled of another Clan, but no one can pinpoint the specific cat's scent. - During the Great Battle, ThunderClan and the other Clans suffer major casualties. Firestar, Brambleclaw, Graystripe, Brightheart, Daisy, Ferncloud, Sorreltail, Purdy, Mousefur, and Birchfall are killed. Birchfall died trying to protect his injured mother. - Hollyleaf becomes Hollystar, she appoints Hazeltail as deputy.
Later - Squirrelflight and Stormfur have two litters of kits: Sparkstorm and Alderheart, then Silverfox (silver tabby she-cat) and Hailstep (mottled gray tom). - Lionblaze and Cinderheart's kits remain the same, as does Ivypool and Fernsong's. - Hollystar has one litter and decides to not have more. Her kits are: Elmkit - dark tabby she-cat with green eyes Houndkit - black tom with green eyes - Dovewing leaves to join ShadowClan and dies during kitting. Her kits remain the same. - Mudstar's deputies are Ashfoot, Crowfeather, and Harestar. He would die at the end of POT or beginning of OOTS. - Mistystar would live until about the beginning of AVOS. Reedwhisker would have retired and Minnowtail would lead.

These are just the one's I can think of currently:
1. Darktail takes over the clans and dies in the last book. Onestar does more to make up for his horrible behavior as leader. 2. Don't kill off Rosepetal and have her help out Bristlefrost more 3. Squirrelflight gets with some other cat who isn't Bramblestar/or have them support each other more. (Ex. Brambleclaw know's SF secret, SF hope doesn't exist, ect.) 4. Let Jayfeather be a warrior and make Berrynose medic. (I just like berrynose and think he'd make a funny medic, and also wanted Jaypaw to become a warrior with his sibs) 5. Either delete the Poppyfrost and Breezepelt scene or make him full on Antagonist 6. Willowshine/Cinderheart x Hollyleaf (Idk I just think it be cute) 7. Lionblaze is confronted more with good vs evil side of his power in OotS (his mate can be Cinderheart or Hazeltail, idrc as long as they don't stop the plot) 8. Ferncloud doesn't die in the great battle 9. Keep StarClan more mysterious 10. DF Wins over Clans for short amount of time then huge battle, Ivy still spies as a DF warrior

I agree that Jayfeather should have been made a warrior. It would've been interesting to see more cats overcome their disabilities and become successful.

I personally would remove the whole "Bramblestar being a bad mate" thing.
For me at least, it felt somewhat unexpected, since there was no real build up or explanation to his behavior. On that note, I guess you could just get rid of Squirrelflight's Hope. Bramblestar being the main "villain" of that book felt pretty forced and unreasonable. In A Vision of Shadows, we rarely get to see Bramblestar. When we do, he's always behaving himself around Squirrelflight. I guess you could infer that he was acting this way to Squirrelflight behind the scenes, but still. I think the authors changed Bramblestar's personality just to make him the main villain in Squirrelflight's Hope, but that's just me. If Bramblestar really needed to be abusive, I would have liked to see a bit more elaboration and build up for his behavior. While there was a bit of hinting to it in the second arc and Bramblestar's Storm, it was very subtle, and deserves more of an explanation. The way they handled the relationship was honestly disappointing. Bramble bad. Then, disaster occurs and Bramble is forgiven.
They should have kept Snowkit alive. It was interesting to see Brightheart overcome her injuries and become an amazing fighter, so I think it would be great to see a deaf cat become a warrior.
One last thing:
Please just remove Ashfur from the entire series. He does not deserve to exist.

1. Have Sol's influence over ShadowClan's belief in StarClan have more impact. Have them consistently sway from StarClan and become a "rogue" clan. It would explain why they end up so splintered in AVOS and also lead to them doubting Shadowsight's visions, makinh TBC's return of StarClan have a lot more meaning.
2. Have Bramble and Squirrel break up at the end of PoT and stay broken up. Alderheart and Sparkpelt can be born to someone else who's still Firekin - I'd love for CloudBright to get another litter or even give them to LionCinder.
3. Change Brambleclaw's name to Brambleheart after Firestar or give him a new suffix entirely like -fang or -strike. If his arc is all about getting away from his father's shadow, I really don't like why they gave him his father's suffix.
4. Make the tribe better. More culturally distinct and not a damsel in distress. I could say the same for all the clans but the Tribe's random visits are the worst.
5. Keep more Daisykin and DustFern kits alive. I will never forgive the Erins for killing Foxleap, Icecloud, Rosepetal, Toadstep, Hazeltail, and Berrynose. They massacred the PoT side characters and I want justice!
6. Keep the old worldbuilding elements that was lost after the move to the lake and make the clans more distinct from each other. Apprentices visit the Moonpool, queens don't need to reveal the father of their kits, bring back WindClan tunnelers and moor-runners. I already mentioned this but ShadowClan would be the "rogue" clan with little to no belief in StarClan, WindClan is the most pious and traditional being closest to the Moonpool and with their old traditions, ThunderClan and SkyClan would make sense being the most progressive clans with their outsider blood and daylight warriors, and I like to think RiverClan is the cleverest clan who is all about going with the flow and doing what it takes to survive. So they accept twoleg handouts if it means getting a full belly, keeping lots of secrets, and actively caring about clan politics and making (ang changing) allies often.

Reedwhisker would have retired and Minnowtail would lead. I'll probably get flak for giving Hollyleaf kits given her early hesitation, but I wanted her to have a litter while she's leader and it kinda not be totally intentional? (It doesn't happen besides Leafstar so it would be interesting with someone neutral on it.) I don't see her purposely trying to settle down but approach the subject as "if it happens, it happens." Hollyleaf had great potential and I wished she was the focal point instead of her brothers pushing her out.
Was going to murder Lionblaze in the Great Battle, but since Dovewing doesn't have powers, I decided to let him live. It would be cliche for him to die and Cinderheart be expecting his kits.
I also gave Squirrelflight and Stormfur two litters with the intention of them being able to enjoy life without secrets, stress, and power complications. Their second litter would be similar to Hollyleaf's, not completely intentional. I see them retiring together when they have a lot of great-grandkits.
I had Dovewing die while kitting because I thought that would have been a decent shock in the actual books if it happened.
I also see Mousewhisker joining RiverClan, leading to a whole issue of Minnowstar's former ThunderClan mate.
