sorreltail having blue eyes bc why tf would 2 of her kits have blue eyes if both she and bracken have amber eyes? smh. both her brothers rain and soot had blue eyes too so like wtf. idk anything about cat genetics, so correct me if im wrong, but it eye color works anything like in humans couldnt sorretail carry the recessive blue eye gene?

From my quick googling it's connected to coat colour to some extent, but I really know nothing. I don't really follow realistic genetics for my stories.

I've always pictured Violetshine as more black than white (black with some white spots as opposed to white with some black spots). And in that same respect, I've always pictured Pebbleshine as white with black speckles rather than brown (it makes more sense).
I was shook when I found out Redtail was tortoiseshell. I had imagined him as white with ginger spots and a ginger tail.
I feel like a lot of people tend to think of Brackenfur and Thornclaw as brown tabbies, but I've always imagined them as golden/ginger - you know, like they're described.
I always pictured Graystripe as a gray tabby, not just gray with a darker stripe down his back.
Man, for the longest time, when the books described Heathertail's eyes as being the same color as heather... I thought that meant green. So when I found out that actually meant they were a blueish/purpleish color, I was shocked.
I will never be convinced that Leafpool has amber eyes. Her eyes are green, end of story.

I'm not quite at AVOS but I think white with black spots Pebbleshine would make more sence, though I personally like Violet as mostly white myself. See I can't see him as anything but a torti lol. His body is Black/ Brown tortie with a large, ginger tail (geneticaly imposible? yes. Interesting for me? also yes) I see Brakenfur as very light brown, but Thornclaw as more golden. Not sure why I see them as different colours and not different shades I don't know why but, I don't like tabby Greystripe. It could be me taking things literally, but I see one stripe. yeah, Leafpool feel's like she needs the green eyes. Amber doesn't fit

I’ve also always pictured violetshine as mostly black with white paws and a white tip tail (kinda like how they describe ravenpaw but with more white) although pebbleshine I always imagined as a silver/grey tabby with some white markings Thornclaw and brackenfur I’ve also always seen as gingery brown And Greystripe I always saw as a dark grey tabby with short/medium length fur and amber eyes

gosh there are so many cats that i picture differently to their canon designs and i’m unable to change how i see them now!
leafpool: ginger with white belly and paws crowfeather: solid black redtail: solid reddish-brown with white tail tip twigbranch: grey striped tabby thistleclaw: solid pale grey mapleshade: white with ginger markings (she used to be described as orange and white so that’s how i see her to this day) rootspring: solid black
i used to think blackstar was black but i’ve finally managed to convince my brain he is white with black paws.
there are probably more that i don’t even realize i am picturing incorrectly

But Smokey black maybe

kells lmao when you put it that way Always thought Blackfoot was black. I literally thought ravenpaw was gray/white splotched with a black tail tip. I was so surprised when i read the graphic novels lol i thought birchfall was silver/gray tabby redtail was solid red, with a super huge and fluffy tail oh, and for some reason i thought that bluestar was solid blue. like, Navy blue. (I was little when I first met her) and firestar? At first, for me, he was solid orange. Later, he had brown stripes on his back?? i confuse myself sometimes

I always imagined him as a dark ginger turkish van but now I can't stop imagining him with a white tail tip Glad you like it! I feel like my brain associated the ‘red’ in his name with foxes and so his tail ended up being inspired by a fox’s tail. A turkish van with a white tail tip sounds adorable!

It's hard not to view him as a Tigerclone, but I try to picture Tigerheartstar as a golden/russet tabby like he was mistakenly described as when he was an apprentice. He'd resemble Rowanclaw more that way, and I like the idea of Tawnypelt naming her son the "Tiger-" prefix for his spirit and not his pelt colour.
I pictured Jagged Peak and Cloverfoot as black cats for some reason initially, but see both as their canon descriptions now.
I can't see Tom from DOTC as anything but gray, because 2/3 of his kits are gray (with his only daughter taking after her mother). I don't know if it's genetically possible for a tortoiseshell and a copper tabby to have gray kits, but even if it is I prefer my interpretation. I picture him as a taller, fluffier and bulkier version of Gray Wing.

I used to picture Dustpelt as a golden tabby and Brackenfur as a dark brown tabby. I pretty much switched the colors of the two and never really noticed until I read their descriptions under Allegiances. When a cat's name has the words dust, sand, or lion, I immediately picture them as golden and/or tan.

I see him as having a two tomed pelt, lighter overcoat, but I don't see dust as ginger/ tan per sey. Sand- Yean, Lion- mostly (but white lions work too) but dust to me is a very light brown.

Blackfoot: black furred cat or a mostly black cat with some white spotting Crowfeather: black cat with yellow or green eyes Sunfish: golden tabby cat with green eyes (why in the world was she grey furred in canon?) Princess: a calico Redtail: ginger cat with white spotting Yellowfang: "yellow" (as the Erins say) tabby or a dilute tortie. but seeing her as her canon description is all I can imagine now. Tom: grey tabby

I will always imagine Rootspring as white with cream spots. It is similar to his canon description, but less intense.
I am also a huge fan of Sol being a dusty brown Mainecoon.

I also picture Princess and Leafpool looking exactly like my cat. So sort of a gray-brown tabby with some white on the paws and chest.
