If you could associate one emotion with each POV character, like for example..
Firestar - passionate
what would they be?

Bristlefrost = Courage Rootspring = Love Shadowsight = Justice I think those fit extremely well.

I feel like Squirrelflight would be dedication, or something similar to that.

Not to be that guy or anything but 90% of the words in this thread aren't emotions, they're character traits.
Firestar: passion Brambleclaw: pride Squirrelflight: righteousness Leafpool: sorrow Hollyleaf: rage Lionblaze: fear Jayfeather: overwhelmed Dovewing: annoyance Ivypool: acceptance

Skypaw13You're right, but I see this as a tomato tomato case, even though I know that's not factually correct lol. I like the emotions you chose for each character, did you choose annoyance for Dovewing because she's an annoying character for you to read about? Or another reason? Cloudstorm I feel like a lot of these fit very well.

I tried to go with what I felt that character's dominant emotion was? Like the vibe I get from them? So like Jayfeather's life is fairly chaotic and he tries to keep things under control (and fails), so he's overwhelmed. Lionblaze is driven by a fear of hurting others. Squirrelflight constantly feels like she's the one with the best plan/idea/action. So for Dovewing, it's not so much that I'm annoyed by her, as I felt like HER annoyance came through strongly-- her annoyance with Jayfeather and Lionblaze, with Ivypaw, with Bumblestripe, with ThunderClan as a whole honestly. It seems like she feels annoyance/irritation/frustration more often than anything else.

Firestar: passion Brambleclaw: pride Squirrelflight: righteousness Leafpool: sorrow Hollyleaf: rage Lionblaze: fear Jayfeather: overwhelmed Dovewing: annoyance Ivypool: acceptance Does that refer to mine? Because I actually got most of them from a website list regarding emotions: www.berkeleywellbeing.com/list-of-emotions.html And yes, I just exposed myself. But this really helped me in finding the right ways to descibe each POV character emotion with one word.

But this really helped me in finding the right ways to descibe each POV character emotion with one word. Yours and the other people who posted. Some of yours were solid emotions (pride, content, calm), others were hit/miss depending on your definition (ambition, sensitivity, vulnerability), and others I would say are just character traits or virtues (loyalty, bravery, kindness). I actually do have a concise definition of emotion vs. trait that makes sense to me, but I tried to explain it and realized that the English language does NOT draw a distinction between the two very well. Like, I would say there's a difference between saying "I am happy" and "I am loyal". The first describes my current state of feeling (temporary), whereas the second describes my character (permanent-ish). But in English we use the same sentence structure to describe both, so it's difficult. 90% was probably an exaggeration now that I'm looking over your post more closely, lol

I was going off of what the website said were emotions. As well as actual character traits from the various PoV profiles on the official Warrior Cats website anyways. And also based how I worded those on what Chicken gave as examples. So like, Firestar = Compassion instead of Firestar = Compassionate which could certainly be interpreted as the wrong way to word things, my bad. Although I do think it makes sense in some way. At least hopefully. But yeah, 50% of what I chose were probably not going by the correct definition of what emotions are. So there's that.
