I voted for Moonrise, since I'm a sucker for those FeatherCrow moments, and I enjoyed Midnight as well for the exact same reason. Not a fan of Leafpaw's chapters though, but I loved her interactions with Mothwing.

sunset because it has the fight between bramble and hawk. best scene in the arc, no contest. potentially the best fight in the series.

Sunset wins easily by a landslide. One of my favorite books in the series in general, and the face off between Brambleclaw and Hawkfrost is super iconic, and very interesting and unique with being the only time in the series a protagonist(or anyone really) is faced with the harrowing and difficult decision of defending ones bloodline, or standing up for the honorable and noble thing to do. It’s a very psychologically traumatic and unsettling experience to be confronted with, and killing a family member, even when it’s the right call is a very, very hard decision to make, and can be even more so to live with. Honestly wish they did more like this, I guess the situation with clear sky and Gray wing is kinda similar…..but with clear sky being redeemed and allowed to get off scot-free, it doesn’t really have the same thought-provoking effect to it.

I'm curious why Dawn and Starlight aren't in their separate options. As for me, Twilight, if only because of the CrowxLeaf chapters, which is saying alot because Leafpool's chapters actually bored me otherwise.

𝓣𝓲𝓷𝓾𝓿𝓲𝓮𝓵 I think the poll starts you with five options, so they might not have known you could add more. Speaking of, cheeselamps , if you edit your original post and hit "edit poll", there's a box where you can "add more options", so you can make Dawn and Starlight separate. It'll be a little less confusing that way. As for my opinion, Midnight and Moonrise are both really good books, but I'll have to go with Moonrise because it's character-driven, and I vastly prefer character-driven works to plot-driven ones.

In terms of the "having to kill a family member" plot, there's also the whole plot with Yellowfang and Brokenstar.

Yeah, sorry about that. I didn't want to make it confusing by adding more options, since I haven't tried it yet. Polls cannot be edited as far as I know, but maybe that's just me and my paranoia.

Dawn is my favorite book in TNP and also my overall favorite book in the whole series. I just think the characterization of everyone it it was done really well and the Great Journey was wonderful to read about. I'm aware that some people think this book is boring because the travelling took so long but for me it was the best part, at least in this case since I dislike both Outcast and Sign of the Moon although that had more to do with the depiction of the Tribe. Speaking of the Tribe of Rushing Water, they were portrayed to actually be the strong ones while the Clans sought out their help instead of how it constantly went the other way around later on, so that's another plus point as well.

I like Starlight and Twilight mainly for Leafcrow... I'll agree it was rushed, but I still love the premise behind it. And in the book after when they make the thought on running away together? It really hit home for me, it felt relatable. Like trying to find the perfect escape with someone you care about. I really wish they went away together it could have been a different angle ig.

I'm surprised Sunset is winning, I thought everyone hated Sunset? I mean, it is the highest rated book in TNP series globally, and received particularly high praise from the narration of the Audiobook. And most everyone loved it back in 2006, unless of course the general opinion of the current fanbase has changed drastically, than not really that surprising?.

Not very surprising there. Personally I loved Sunset, and never understood why it was so hated, but now knowing why that hatedom was a thing, it's now unsurprisng.

Not very surprising there. Personally I loved Sunset, and never understood why it was so hated, but now knowing why that hatedom was a thing, it's now unsurprisng. For me it's a weird inbetween when it comes to Sunset. As a child and teen I apparently loved it but re-reading it for the first time in years as an adult made me think how boring most of the plot is since some of it feels a lot like filler to me up until the iconic foxtrap scene, of course. That's still epic to this day and deserves to get all the attention (fanart and animation). I still like the final TNP book but can no longer say it's great (just good) except for the interactions between Brambleclaw and Hawkfrost. I absolutely adore Dawn though and Moonkitti made it clear in her "I spoil" series how drawn out the entire book and boring the Great Journey seemed to her. It's my favorite part of the arc regardless of what anyone says though. But then again, everyone is entitled to their own opinions. So there's that.
