Everywhere you look nowadays, it seems like there's some drama related to a MAP or another. Be it banning memes of it because it'd be "disrespectful", 4Kids style animation cover-ups, or being cancelled entirely because of a song "not being appropriate", you don't need to go far to see some kind of drama.
I may just be looking on the past with rose tinted glasses, but this kind of thing seems to have gotten far more common in recent times.

The drama in this fandom was pretty petty before, but a lot the MAP drama just goes too far with bullying imo. Some people have nothing better to do that complain about things. I bet for some it gives a sense of enjoyment by controlling another’s creativity.

I can't really provide much insight on this. I've never ventured into the Warriors MAP/AMV/etc part of the fandom.

The first controversy I heard about was the feather situation, and then a bunch of other drama followed. It's nice to be mindful of others when making content, but I feel like there's some things that hurt absolutely nobody. Like… who cares if Scourge's collar color is blue instead of purple, not even canon can decide what the color is.

Is it just me, or have there been more instances of "harmful themes" being called out in MAPs as of late? Like, it's getting to an extreme point with how much it's been happening, like, way too often. Either this fandom is going downhill or someone is lying to MAP creators.

Like, it's getting to an extreme point with how much it's been happening, like, way too often. Either this fandom is going downhill or someone is lying to MAP creators. that probably has to do with how hypersensitive people have become to “political correctness” in just about everything nowadays and not this fandom specifically, and people feel compelled to isolate and attack anything that bears a remote resemblance, whether coincidental or not, to some harmful trope or stereotype, are seen as butchering some culture. So I’d say it’s more the world going downhill as a whole, of course that’s just my opinion.

i think people are more comfortable talking about (or criticizing) map concepts together on discord and to a smaller extent twitter, and that's where the drama tends to start. i suppose it's a bit less daunting than commenting on a map call itself. i agree that the drama is just too much - if someone has a problem with someone else's map concept, why not try to reach out to them and discuss it one on one rather than making vague tweets about it? everything's much more likely to have a happy ending with proper discussion. also, what do you mean by animation cover ups? The tropical Scourge MAP has the design changed midway through so he’d have a hat instead of a skull, and when you look at the parts that were finished before the change and were forced to accept the hat, the cover up is pretty obvious

I don't think so. The last MAP controversy I heard of was the Cleopatra MAP back in May and I think that people were more upset over that a minor was being bullied over it. Then again I might just not be paying attention anymore.
