XyloclanIntroductionYou wander through the forest. It's full of tall trees that seem to hide the sun. Light does trickle through the leaves, and it made the dense forest beautiful. You scent some unusual things, but you have no idea what they were for. All you knew, was that there were cats living in this forest. Living away from your housefolk had never been a thing you'd thought about, but it was the only thing you could do since your housefolk abandoned you. It was scary enough that you were left in such a large forest with no way of getting home, but you continued to make your way through the forest, hoping you'd be able to find your way back. Your meticulously groomed pelt was getting messy from the low shrubs and decomposing leaves on the forest floor. You hear a rustling all around you. Scared, you look around, wide eyed. What was that? A thump sounds behind you. Twirling around, you see a dark brown tabby tom. He was tall and lean.
"Why, hello there, little kittypet," he meows.
"Kittypet?" you ask.
"A cat living with a twoleg," he explains.
"Twoleg?"
"Those creatures that stand on two legs and have removable pelts."
"My housefolk?" you ask, feeling confused. The brown tabby shrugs.
"What are you doing here, kittypet?"
"I was left here," you meow. The tom looks at you curiously.
"Follow me," he meows. He turns and walks away. You slowly follow, wondering if you should follow such a strange cat. He moves to one of the trees with lower branches, and jumps up. "Come on."
You look up, wondering how you'd follow, when the branch seems to lower to the ground. You hesitantly step on it. Once your full weight was on the tree, it rises again. Following the tom, you soon realise the trees seem to form a long bridge, taking you to some unknown place. Soon you arrive at a slide-like hollow that goes right into the ground. The tom simply jumps in, sliding all the way into the darkness. You quickly follow, not wanting to be left alone. The bottom was extremely soft.
"Where are we?" you ask.
"Someplace sacred," he meows, moving on. You soon arrive at a glowing pool. "Drink the water."
You do as he says. He orders you to lie down and place your tail into the pool. You follow his orders and close your eyes. You seem to open them, but you see nothing but darkness. Eventually, green lights pop up here and there. They surround you, touching you then backing away.
"Hi!" they purr.
"What are you?" you ask.
"We're wood elementals. We control forests and plants."
"Wow! That's so cool!"
"You can do it too."
"How?"
"By staying with the clan and learning."
"What's a clan?"
"A new home. Would you like that?"
"Yes."
"It's time for you to go now. We'll see you again."
"Ok. Bye." You wake up to the bright light of the glowing pool.
"Welcome to Xyloclan. I'm Xylostar, the one that'll bring you to your new home," the tom meows. AboutThis is an 8 clan Rp. Xyloclan is the clan of wood. Cats of this clan can manipulate wood and its sub-elements. The other clans are Ignisclan, Hydroclan, Aeroclan, Geoclan, Luxclan, Umbraclan, and Astralclan. These 7 clans make up the elements of fire, water, wind, earth, light, dark and spirit.
These sub-elements of wood are only a guide. If you think of something new, please tell us, and it'll be added to the list. Each clan has a specific elemental bloodline. For Xyloclan, it's wood. When you have kits of two different clans, sometimes the kit will have aspects of one parent and not the other. And sometimes there is a fusion of both parents abilities. Here is the list.
Plant: This is the basic plant manipulation and growth. It is common. (1 / unlimited) Healing: This is using the vitality of plants to heal wounds. It is uncommon. (2 / 10) Camouflage: This ability is for those with a Wood/Light bloodline. This is using plants to hide yourself/others with perfection (blending into surroundings). It is rare. (1 / 5) Plant Fertility: This is helping plats grow fruits. It is uncommon. (0 / 10) Fertility: This is healing a cat's fertility. It is rare. (0 / 5) Light Absorption: This ability is for those with a Wood/Light bloodline. This allows a cat to absorb sunlight for energy. It is super rare. (0 / 1) Attribute Imbuement: This ability is for those with an Element/Wood bloodline. This allows a cat to imbue an element into a plant to help it grow in a different environment. It is rare. (0 / 5) Oxygen: This ability is for those with a Wood/Wind bloodline. This allows a cat to create oxygen in hard to breath places. It is uncommon. (0 / 10) Carnivorous Plant: This allows a cat to turn a plant into something carnivorous. It is super rare. (0 / 1) Pheromone manipulation: This allows a cat to use and manipulate pheromones. It is rare. (0 / 5) Poison: This allows a cat to use poison without the need of a plant. It is rare. (2 / 5)
Apart from the cats who have an affinity for wood. There is also one cat who can live in any territory. It is a very rare cat that is only born twice in a lifetime. The second is born near the end of the first's lifespan.
Fate: These cats have power over prophecy and destiny. They know everything about another cat's fate, though they never really speak of it. Only when a prophecy comes, do they speak about their abilities. Otherwise, they're probably the most normal. They will have dreams sometimes of another cat's future. Other times, they can walk in the dreams of others. (1 / 1)
Xyloclan also has two abilities that all wood users have. Longer Life (Due to their abilty to absorb life energy from plants, they live longer lives than the others. They also don't get sick like the other clans due to their naturally stronger immune system) Empath (They can speak to plants and understand plants)
I hope you have fun with the tree-topped Xyloclan.

Also, don't overpower every opponent you fight. There is always a give and a take. When Rping battle scenes, add your character's thought process. Don't just say "such and such raked so and so in the face to distract him, then rammed into his shoulder. She presses him down, and aims for his throat". Give your opponent time to show their battle strategy.
Godmodding and spotlighting are boring and annoying in Rp's. Just don't do it. (A)

#11 Realism This is an elemental Rp. You can have weird colours as long as it suits your cat's power. An example would be a purple pelt for a lightning elemental cat. The same goes for eye colour. (P)
#12 LGBT + It is allowed in this Rp. You can allocate what preference your cat has, but please keep it simple (hetero, homo or bi).
Cats with a preference for the same sex will be able to have kits, through a surrogacy/donor if they wish, but you must ask first. (E)
#13 Clan Positions The Clan Leader will be Rped by the owner first. The rper of the deputy will be the next leader.
There are two Diviners, but the second will only be born when the first is 156 moons old.
There will only be 3 healers and 3 healer apprentices.
#14 Queens and Kits You can join as a kit, but the kit will need a parent / guardian. Please ask if you want to become the kit of a character. If you want to join as an external kit, please ask who Rp's the character you want as the surrogate mother.
Queens who wish to stay long-term in the Queen den must have had at least 2 litters or a disability. (A)
#15 Character Ratios You can join with one character, but please try to keep the ratio between males and females as 50/ 50 as possible.
#16 Powers The cats cannot be overpowering. They must have some flaw in their ability, like they can't control it or their they can only control if after something happens. (R)
#17 Rp Times Everyone will Rp on the same days at the same times. One day can last a week, but in that day, all apprentices must have had at least 1 battle session or 1 hunting session. Each cat must also interact with at least 3 cats. That's when a day will end.
There will not be any time-skips for certain cats. If a time-skip is to happen, it will be for the whole clan, and will not go more than 1 moon.
You must keep watch of your own cat's age. If it's time for the cat to become a senior apprentice, warrior, senior warrior or elder, please tell the owner or the mods.
#18 Plots Now, there is no plot for Ignisclan, but if you have an idea for a plot, talk it through with everyone. If all members agree, then we can go ahead with it. Do make it detailed though. (L)

TerritoryXyloclan is relatively large and only full of forest. The camp is located close to the river in the West since it's the only water source. Xyloclan is also the only clan with remnants of Twolegs. A twoleg ruin lies on the Eastern side of the territory. Xyloclan borders Geoclan, Ignisclan and Umbraclan. Pax River Pax River runs between Xyloclan and Umbraclan. It is the only water source for Xyloclan cats. It receives fresh water from Patet Moat and the waterfall in the Umbraclan territory.
Elemental Pool Entrance The Elemental Pool Entrance is to the North of Xyloclan. It is close to both Geoclan and Ignisclan.
Pugnare Grounds The Pugnare Grounds are where the cats of Xyloclan train. It is very dense. It is located in the North-East of the clan.
Aperta Clearing Aperta Clearing is located to the East of Xyloclan. It is just South of the Pugnare Grounds. The Aperta Clearing is the second training ground for Xyloclan cats. The cats also needed grounds that weren't covered in dense forest.
Twoleg Ruins The Twoleg Ruins is on the Eastern side of Xyloclan, but closer to the centre. It is West of Aperta Clearing. Because of its crumbling nature, the Twoleg Ruins are off limits for kits and young apprentices who are unable to balance properly.
CampXyloclan Camp is made by the cats of Xyloclan. With their plant affinity, the cats of Xyloclan grow shrubs that can easily house many cats and keep the weather out of the dens. PreyThe prey in Xyloclan can be found nearly anywhere, and they have the most variety of the clans.
Adder Snake Mouse Vole Shrew Squirrel Rabbit Jay Kestrel Falcon Owl Sparrow Swift Mole Crow Dove Finch Lark Quail Raven Robin Starling Swallow Thrush
PredatorThe predators of Xyloclan can be found anywhere.
Adder Snake Kestrel Badger Fox Wolf Bear Bees Clan HistoryThe Beginning
No cat really knows how the 8 Clans came to be, nor do they know why cats were chosen as the preferred animal to be reborn into. All the cats knew, was that they were elemental beings that were born as cats in a cycle. They could go long spans without being reborn, but each rebirth was a clean slate unless they turned dark. Usually, an elemental was beautiful. In addition to the colour of its element, an elemental would look like a galaxy of stars. When they turn dark or evil, however, those lights in the elemental dim and a hazy mist leaks from the elemental. Although dark elementals are reborn too, they tend to be born with disabilities until that hazy mist disappears and their light shines once more.
Xyloclan Xyloclan is the clan where the fire elementals gather. Xyloclan is known for their fights since their powers are best for attacking. Their history begins with Xylostar who was the very first leader of Xyloclan. They don't know much on how they started. but they do know key figures.
1st Leader: Xylostar Deputy: Shadestripe Diviners: Slateflower, Poolpaw Healers: Emberdust, Fallenface, Brokendrop, Nightpaw, Stonepaw, Flamepaw
2nd Leader: Shadestar Deputy: Fleetleaf Diviners: Poolfire, Bumblepaw Healers: Nightfang, Stonefall, Flamestem, Rainpaw, Honeypaw, Jumppaw
3rd Leader: Fleetstar Deputy: Snowflake Diviners: Bumblefoot, Milkpaw Healers: Rainflight, Honeywillow, Jumpflame, Mumblepaw, Crookedpaw, Stormpaw
4th Leader: Snowstar Deputy: Mudfur Diviners: Milkleap, Pouncepaw Healers: Mumblefrost, Crookedheart, Stormskip, Curlpaw, Sunnypaw, Ripplepaw
5th Leader: Mudstar Deputy: Quicklight Diviners: Pouncejaw, Deadpaw Healers: Curlsong, Sunnymist, Rippleleg, Shellpaw, Runningpaw, Fuzzypaw
6th Leader: Quickstar Deputy: Smokespring Diviners: Deadpool, Shredpaw Healers: Shellnose, Runningstep, Fuzzypuddle, Halfpaw, Sootpaw, Sneezepaw
7th Leader: Smokestar Deputy: Heavypad Diviners: Shredstrike, Tanglepaw Healers: Halfshade, Sootpelt, Sneezewatcher, Hollowpaw, Tumblepaw, Jaggedpaw
8th Leader: Heavystar Deputy: Kinkshine Diviners: Tanglescar, Littlepaw Healers: Hollowwhisper, Tumblesky, Jaggedspirit, Longpaw, Loudpaw, Lowpaw
9th Leader: Kinkstar Deputy: Mouthsnow Diviners: Littletail, Oddpaw Healers: Longstorm, Loudthroat, Lowstream, Onepaw, Pricklepaw, Raggedpaw
10th Leader: Mouthstar Deputy: Sharptooth Diviners: Oddtuft Healers: Onewhisker
Now Current Leader is Mouthstar. Clan TraditionsDiviner Gathering The Diviners meet every crescent moon, so twice a moon. They gather and chat at the Elemental Pool where they learn about each other.
Healer Ceremony / Healer Gathering The Healer ceremony occurs on a new moon during the Healer Gathering. The Healers meet at the Elemental Pool and share tongues with the elementals. It is at this time that the Healers trade herbs if the other clans need it.
Apprentice Ceremony The apprentice ceremonies for warriors and healers occur on the half moon. Healer and warrior apprentices go with their mentors to the Elemental Pool where they will be blessed by the elementals with their element.

Important InformationPermanent Queens
To apply to become a permanent Queen, your character must have had two litters or have a permanent disability.
Litters
Litters will be determined by random generation. There can only be at most, 14 kits in a litter, so the number will be randomly generated from 1 - 14. For same sex mates, they can have surrogacy or adopt a kit.
After the number of kits has been determined, I will randomly generate between 1 (male) and 2 (female). I will then randomly generate a number from the amount of kits in that litter. That will determine the number of toms and she-kits in the litter.
Here's an example:
Generated number of kits in litter: 13
Generate gender (1 is male, 2 is female): 1
Number of males (generated from 0 - 13): 6
Number of females left over: 7
PregnancyIn reality, cats are pregnant for around 58 - 67 days. For the purposes of this Rp, a cat's pregnancy will be 2 moons. Because cats are fertile all their lives, cats can end up pregnant even as elders, so be careful.
Every 3 moons, there will be a random generation to determine whether a mated cat will end up pregnant. #1 Not Pregnant #2 Pregnant
Illness
During Leaf-Fall and Leaf-Bare, the temperature drops. That means the cats fall ill. The kits and elders will fall ill in Leaf-Fall and Leaf-Bare, whereas all cats will fall ill in Leaf-Bare. This will be randomly generated. There are four illnesses: #0 ~ No Illness #1 ~ Whitecough #2 ~ Greencough #3 ~ Fever #4 ~ Chills There will be random generation between 0 and 4 to determine whether a cat is sick. If a cat is sick, it'll go through a second random generation to determine the severity of the illness: #1 ~ Weak #2 ~ Mild #3 ~ Severe #4 ~ Extremely Severe Weak means the cat will get better within a week. Mild means the cat will get better within a moon. Severe means the cat will have a chance to get better or die. This will take it to another random generation between 1 (survive) and 2 (death). Extremely severe means the cat will die.
Wounds
With every battle means wounds. All cats participating in the battle will be randomly generated to determine the type of wound they receive and its severity. The types of wounds are: #0 ~ No Wound #1 ~ Bleeding #2 ~ Internal Damage #3 ~ Sprain #4 ~ Joint Dislocation #5 ~ Broken Bones Then comes the severity of the situation: #1 ~ Weak #2 ~ Mild #3 ~ Severe #4 ~ Extremely Severe Weak wounds means wounds that will quickly heal. Mild means it'll take at least a few moons to heal. Severe is a random generation between 1 (survive) and 2 (death). If survival is chosen, then it's a choice between 1 (no infection) and 2 (infection). If infection is chosen, then it'll go back to life and death. Extremely Severe means the cat will die.
Travel & Accidents
Travelling, cats normally get cracked pads, but this will be randomly generated. Each day, the cats in question will undergo random generation between 1 (no cracked pads) and 2 (cracked pads). They will also go through an accident generation between 1 (no accident) and 2 (accident). Of course, a cat can also have accidents around camp. The results of an accident are as follows: #0 ~ No Damage #1 ~ Internal Damage #2 ~ Sprain #3 ~ Joint Dislocation #4 ~ Broken Bones This is again followed by severity. #1 ~ Weak #2 ~ Mild #3 ~ Severe #4 ~ Extremely Severe These will follow the rules of wounds. Healer: Tonight you must come with me to the Elemental Pool to receive your blessed ability as an apprentice. Then, on the night of the new moon, you must come with me to be accepted formally by the Elementals before the other Healers.
The mentor touches noses with the apprentice, and the Clan greets the new apprentice.
Night of the new moon, the Healer goes with the Apprentice to the Elemental Pool to present them to the Elementals, where the Apprentice confirms their wish to be a Healer.
Healer: (Apprentice), is it your wish to enter the mysteries of the Elementals as a Healer?
Apprentice: It is.
Healer: Then come forward.
Healer: Elementals, I present you with this Apprentice. (He/she) has been chosen to pursue path of a Healer. Grant (him/her) your wisdom and insight so that (he/she) may understand your ways and heal (his/her) Clan in accordance with your will.
The Healer Apprentice touches his/her nose to the Elemental Pool. Then the Healer and the Apprentice lay down and share a dream with the Elementals. Warrior CeremonyThe Clan Leader calls a Clan Meeting and call the apprentice.
Leader: I, Mouthstar, Leader of Xyloclan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. (He/she) has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend (him/her) to you as a warrior in (his/her) turn.
Leader: (Apprentice), do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?
Apprentice: I do.
Leader: Then by the powers of the Elementals, I give you your warrior name. (Apprentice), from this moment you will be known as (new warrior name). The Elementals honour your (virtues), and we welcome you as a full warrior of Xyloclan.
The leader rests their muzzle on the apprentice's head, and the apprentice licks the leader's shoulder. The rest of the Clan then greets the new warrior by calling them by their new name. The warrior will sit a silent vigil guarding the camp that night, except if that is not possible. Dying Warrior CeremonyLeader: I ask my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. (He/She) has learned the warrior code and given up (his/her) life in the service of (his/her) Clan. Let the Elementals receive (him/her) as a warrior. (He/She) will be known as (new name).
Healer CeremonyOnce the Clan's Healer is satisfied with the apprentice's knowledge, they go to the Elemental Pool at the new moon. This is the only ceremony that is not performed by the Leader.
Healer: I, (name), Healer of Xyloclan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. (He/she) has trained hard to understand the ways of a Healer, and with your help (he/she) will serve (his/her) Clan for many moons.
Healer: (Apprentice), do you promise to uphold the ways of a Healer, to stand apart from rivalry between Clan and Clan and to protect all cats equally, even at the cost of your life?
Apprentice: I do.
Healer: Then by the powers of the Elementals I give you your true name as a Healer. (Apprentice), from this moment you will be known as (new name). The Elementals honor your (virtues), and we welcome you as a full Healer of Xyloclan.
The Healer rests their muzzle on the apprentice's head, and they lick the mentor's shoulder. The other Healers greet them by their new name. Deputy CeremonyLeader: I say these words before the Elementals, so that the spirits of our warrior ancestors (or former deputy) may hear and approve of my choice. The new deputy of Xyloclan is (warrior's name). Leader CeremonyThe new Leader goes to the Elemental Pool with the Clan's Healers. After touching the Pool, the new Leader cannot move for a short period of time, because their old life is being ripped away so they can receive nine new ones. Upon awakening, the Elementals come down from the sky. Nine Elementals, normally ones who were significant during the new Leader's life, although this is not always the case, give them their nine lives.
Life-Giver: (Touches nose to the top of the new leader's head) With this life I give you (gift). Use it well (to, in, as, for, etc.) (use of gift).
When all of the lives have been given, the first Leader speaks.
First Leader: I hail you by your new name, _____star. Your old life is no more. You have now received the nine lives of a Leader, and the Elementals grant you the guardianship of Xyloclan. Defend it well; care for young and old; honor your ancestors and the traditions of the warrior code; live each life with pride and dignity. Name Changing CeremonyThe leader calls a Clan meeting, and performs the change.
Leader: Elementals, you know every cat by name. I ask you now to take away the name from the cat you see before you, for it no longer stands for what he/she is. By my authority as Clan Leader, and with the approval of our warrior ancestors, I give this cat a new name. From this moment on he/she will be known as (new name), for (description of the reason). Elder CeremonyLeader: (Warrior), is it your wish to give up the name of a warrior and go to join the elders?
Warrior: It is.
Leader: Your Clan honors you and all the service you have given to us. I call upon the Elementals to give you many moons of rest.
The Clan will call out the retired warrior's name and then they will go to the elder's den. An elder may receive a completely different name, with a different ceremony, than keeping their warrior name. Usually, an elder ceremony is held only when a cat retires due to old age. If they are forced to retire because of a severe injury, there is no ceremony. Warrior Code#1 Defend your Clan, even with your life. You may have friendships with cats from outside the Clan, but your loyalty must remain to your Clan, as one day you may meet them in battle.
#2 Do not hunt or trespass on another Clan's territory.
#3 Elders and kits must be fed before apprentices and warriors. Unless they have permission, apprentices may not eat until they have hunted to feed the elders.
#4 Prey is killed only to be eaten. Give thanks to the Stars for its life.
#5 A kit must be at least six moons old to become an apprentice.
#6 Newly appointed warriors will keep a silent vigil for one night after receiving their warrior name.
#7 A cat cannot be made deputy without having mentored at least one apprentice.
#8 The deputy will become Clan leader when the leader dies or retires.
#9 After the death or retirement of the deputy, the new deputy must be chosen before moonhigh.
#10 A Gathering of all eight Clans is held at the full moon during a truce that lasts for the night. There shall be no fighting among Clans at this time.
#11 Boundaries must be checked and marked daily. Challenge all trespassing cats.
#12 No warrior may neglect a kit in pain or in danger, even if that kit is from outside the Clan.
#13 The word of the Clan leader is the warrior code.
#14 An honorable warrior does not need to kill other cats to win his battles, unless they are outside the warrior code or it is necessary for self-defense.
#15 A warrior rejects the soft life of a kittypet.
#16 Each Clan has the right to be proud and independent, but in times of trouble they must forget their boundaries and fight side by side to protect the four. Each Clan must help the others so that no Clan will fall.

Ailments Chest InfectionsWhitecough and greencough are the most common chest infections known to the Clan cats.
Whitecough is the milder form, but if untreated, it can develop into the much more severe greencough. Cats usually catch it during leaf-fall and leaf-bare, and sometimes it develops into large-scale epidemics. It can be fatal for elders and kits, and it has claimed the lives of several cats. It spreads quickly and is highly contagious.
Yellowcough causes fever, loss of appetite, diffculty breathing, delirium and sore throats.
Treatment Medicine cats treat it using catmint. If fevers accompany the cough, tansy or borage is used as well.
Yellowcough can be treated with lungwort. PoisoningPoisoning is the ingestion of a substance that causes harm to the body. If only a small quantity of poison is ingested, the cat usually just receives a bellyache, but larger amounts can cause death. If a cat has been severely poisoned they may become unconscious for a length of time.
Treatment Medicine cats treat these bellyaches with yarrow or nettle leaves, while mild bellyaches can be treated with juniper or watermint. To make a cat potentially vomit the poison, immediately give them yarrow. Loss of Sensory PerceptionA cat may lose their eyesight or hearing due to old age. Or from accidents and infections, or birth defects. These conditions usually end their career as a warrior, as they cannot hunt or fight efficiently, and must retire as elders. Kits born with defects usually die young, unless they have special skills compensating it. Kits that are white with blue eyes have a higher chance of being born deaf. Joint AchesA condition usually associated with elders, the joints gradually degenerating with age, causing pain and difficulty to move. Damp environments can cause the appearance of this condition.
Treatment Apprentices must make sure that the moss they gather for bedding is completely dry. It is usually treated using daisy or ragwort poultices. ToothachesA toothache is caused by a cracked tooth, cavities, or an infection in the mouth.
Treatment Alder bark is used to soothe the pain. FeverFever is an abnormally high temperature of the body. It is not a disease in itself, but it usually signs the presence of an infection, such as greencough or an infected wound.
Treatment If needed, it can be treated with feverfew, borage, or lavender. ChillsChills are mostly associated with cold weather or being submerged in cold water for a long period of time. Although this condition is mild and is not a disease, it has claimed lives. Kits and elders are more at risk of dying when they get a chill.
Treatment Licking a cat's fur the wrong way gets the blood flowing again. A poultice of lavender, catmint and feverfew is also a good remedy. WoundsWounds are injuries when the skin and the muscles beneath are torn, cut, or punctured. They may put a cat's life in danger due to blood loss, infections, or the damage of the organs. Wounds are the most common injuries, due to the cats always fighting enemy Clans, badgers, or foxes. Minor wounds heal on their own in no time, but severe wounds must be treated by a medicine cat.
Treatment This treatment includes cleaning it thoroughly with the tongue, stopping the bleeding by pressing cobwebs on it, and applying poultices to prevent infection and help it to heal. Herbs used in the poultices include goldenrod, marigold, burdock root or wild garlic. If the wound becomes infected, chervil or horsetail is used as well. The pain can be eased with poppy seeds or willow bark. SprainsSprains are injuries to ligaments of a joint, caused by being stretched beyond their normal capacity and possibly torn. It causes severe pain and decreased ability to move the joint.
Treatment The cat must rest for several days. Joint DislocationJoint dislocation is the displacement of a bone from its normal joint.
Treatment Medicine cats treat this condition by first feeding the patient poppy seeds to make them sleepy so they don't feel it as much, and then forcing the limb back into the joint. Cracked PadsThe paw pads may crack while walking long distances on hard surfaces, or due to cold weather. Elders are especially prone to this condition.
Treatment It is treated with a poultice of coltsfoot or yarrow. Dock leaf poultices are also used to cool cracked pads. Broken BonesA broken bone is usually the result of an accident, such as falling down from a high place, or being hit by a monster. Cats most often break their legs, and while medicine cats try to bind the bone with cobwebs, the injury usually results in the cat remaining crippled for the rest of their life. A more severe injury is when a cat breaks their backbone. This results in the cat being unable to feel or move parts of their body. If the break is bad enough the cat will be killed on or shortly after impact.
Treatment It is best to possibly make the patient swim in shallow water in hopes of exercising the injured limb or coming up with exercises to fit the patient's need. Battle Moves Basic㊍ Back Kick: Explosive surprise move to catch opponent from behind. Judge opponent's distance from you carefully, then lash out with your back legs, taking all weight on your front paws.
㊍ Belly Rake: A fight-stopper. Slice with unsheathed claws against the soft flesh of the opponent's belly. If you're pinned down, the belly rake quickly puts you back into control.
㊍ Front Paw Blow: Frontal attack. Bring your front paw down hard on your opponent's head. Claws sheathed.
㊍ Front Paw Strike / Forepaw Slash: Frontal attack. Slice downward with your front paw at the face or body of your opponent.
㊍ Killing Bite: A death blow to the back of the neck. Quick and silent and sometimes considered dishonorable. Used only as a last resort.
㊍ Leap-and-hold: Ideal for a small cat facing a larger opponent. Spring onto opponent's back and grip with unsheathed claws. Now you are beyond the range of the opponent's paws and in position to inflict severe body wounds. A group of apprentices can defeat a large and dangerous warrior in this way. Watch for the drop-and-roll counter move, and try to jump free before you get squashed.
㊍ Partner Fighting: Warriors who have trained and fought together will often fall instinctively into a defensive position, each protecting each other's back while fending off an opponent on either side. Slashing, clawing, and leaping together, battle pairs can be a whirlwind of danger for attackers.
㊍ Play Dead: Effective in a tight situation, such as when you are pinned. Stop struggling and go limp. When your opponent relaxes their grip, thinking you are defeated, push yourself up explosively. This will throw off an unwary opponent and put you in attacking position.
㊍ Scruff Shake: Secure a strong teeth grip in the scruff of your opponent's neck; then shake violently until they are too rattled to fight back. Most effective against rats, who are small enough to throw. A strong throw will stun or kill them.
㊍ Tail Yank: Grab your opponent's tail and yank it with such force that your opponent is thrown off balance.
㊍ Teeth Grip: Target your opponent's extremities – the legs, tail, scruff or ears – and sink in your teeth and hold. This move is similar to the leap-and-hold except your claws remain free to fight.
㊍ Upright Lock: Final, crushing move on already weakened opponent. Rear up on back legs and bring weight down on opponent. If opponent does the same, wrestle and flip them under you. This makes you vulnerable to the belly rake, so it takes great strength and speed.
㊍ Half-Turn Belly Rake: Turn onto your side, slip under the opponent's belly, rake it with your claws, then swiftly turn back onto all fours out from under your opponent.
㊍ Badger Defense: Leap over opponent, turn on your back legs and bite opponent's leg. Used only when fighting badgers.
㊍ Duck and Twist: Simple defensive move. The cat ducks then twists around, rolling over onto their back, and then springs to their paws.
㊍ Jump and pin: Complicated move. Leap backwards, and bounce off the wall. With precise accuracy, land on the cat.
Specialised Advanced㊍ Rear-up to Slash: To hurt opponents coming from the air, this move can be used to rear up on the hind legs and slashing at the enemy.
㊍ Attack Crouch: Crouching down to leap out onto your enemy.
㊍ Tucking in the Tail: The less you give your enemy to hold on to, the better. This technique takes practice, as balancing with a tucked-in tail is tricky.
㊍ Arched Back: Used to intimidate the opponent or to vent out anger.
㊍ Shoulder Drop: This move is performed by grabbing the opponent's shoulders and then locking them against the ground. From here, the cat can do anything such as churning their hind paws against their spine.
㊍ Roll Over: Used by rolling over to avoid an enemy's swipes or grip. Used to crush an opponent that is on your back. Badgers can crush cats this way.
㊍ Duck and Headbutt: Used by ducking an opponent's blow and headbutting them in the chest, bowling them over. Dark㊍ Underbelly Slash: Dart under your enemy's underbelly, slashing at the back of their forepaws. When they twist, expecting you to emerge on the other side, back quickly out of the way you came. Hook your claws into your enemies fur, and drag them to the ground.
㊍ Badger Defense ("Advanced"): An "advanced" Badger Defense. Leap over opponent, turn on your back legs, and, while turning, rake your claws on opponent's back. Then sink teeth into opponent's leg. Used only when fighting badgers.
㊍ Spin Hind Kick: Flick your hind legs into the air while spinning around on your forepaws, then rear up rake at the enemy with your claws before tucking your head down and perform a forward roll.
㊍ Hold And Enemy Collapse: Leap onto an enemy's back, and hold their head with your forepaws and use your hindpaws to knock their hindlegs out from under them, thus making them collapse to the ground. Forest Attack㊍ Move quietly and communicate with signals. Cracking twigs, startled birds, and rustling bracken will tell the enemy exactly where you are.
㊍ Keep downwind of the trespassers so that your scent doesn't give you away.
㊍ Look for freshly broken twigs, overturned leaves on the forest floor, remains of prey, or a clump of fur caught on a bramble. Any animal that moves through the forest leaves behind signs that its passed by-and signs like this could lead you straight to the invaders.
㊍ Keep your mouth open to search for unfamiliar scents. Be careful: if there is scent when there is no breeze to carry it through the forest, it could mean that your enemy is very close by.
㊍ Light-colored pelts are easily seen against brown and green foliage, so stay in the thickest cover. Keep low- the enemy will be looking for movement at normal head height, not close to the ground.
㊍ Never miss an opportunity to perfect your tracking ability. In the nursery, kits sneak up on their mothers and pounce with their moss-soft paws. Apprentices leap out on one another from behind bushes and tree stumps. These are more than just games. One day, these skills could save your life and defend your Clan. Lightning Strike㊍ Crouch behind the enemy with your patrol unseen.
㊍ Wait for the leader of the patrol to give the Attack Tail Signal.
㊍ Spring squarely on top of the enemy, aiming for the ears, as they will bleed easily; caught by surprise, they should be easy targets.
㊍ As fast as you attack, retreat back into the undergrowth.
㊍ As the enemy lets its guard down, attack from an opposite angle; do this over and over until the enemy, thinking they are outnumbered, retreats. Night Ambush㊍ Hide in the shadows of the night with your patrol and your enemy spotted.
㊍ Make sure your scent isn't drifting toward the attackers.
㊍ Wait for the leader of the patrol to give the Attack Tail Signal.
㊍ Strike your enemy fast and hard; the enemy will be caught off-guard with a battle at night.
㊍ Cut off all your enemy's escape routes, encircling them with your patrol.
㊍ If they try to attack, battle again. If they do not, let them through with a warning. Speed & Agility㊍ Approach from Above Your Enemy: Gain high-ground. Wait for the leader of the patrol to give the Attack Tail Signal. Charge down your high ground; your enemy will be weakened by having to fight uphill.
㊍ Use the Light from the Sun: Attack your enemy with the sun behind you, which should dazzle the enemy and block their view.
㊍ Know Where the Wind is Coming From: If there is a strong wind, it should blow from behind you; that should hold them back and blur their vision with dust. However, if stalking, make sure the wind is blowing toward you, as it could give away your scent if blowing toward your enemy.
㊍ Conceal the Size of Your Force: Have your attackers in sight from a distance. There are two options: either you can group your warriors together tightly, making you seem like a small attacking force. Your enemy may become overconfident, which is likely to lead to them making poor strategic decisions. Or, if your warriors spread out single-file, it will seem impossible to pass to advancing enemy warriors and may intimidate them. Attack the enemy.
㊍ Attack Both Ends of the Enemy Line First: Attack both ends of your enemy's line, leaving the middle cats to fend on two fronts; this will leave them outflanked, vulnerable, and in disarray. Attack the rest of the enemies until they run.
㊍ Keep Fresh Warriors in Reserve: Always keep strong, fit warriors to replace injured ones.
㊍ Feigned Retreat and Ambush: A group of strong cats screech and attack the enemy line. The group of fit cats retreat; repeat this until the enemy line breaks. Other warriors, usually tunnelers, jump out of rabbit holes and dips in the ground on the other side of the attackers. Attack from both fronts until the enemy surrenders. Aboveground Combat㊍ The Sky-Crusher: Balance on a thin branch; make no sound. Land squarely on the enemy, claws unsheathed.
㊍ The Flick-Over: Balance on a thin branch; make no sound. Land with all four paws outstretched on your enemy. Knock the opponent's feet from under him. Flip the enemy over to their belly; pin them to the ground until they surrender.
㊍ The Kick: Balance on a thin branch; make no sound. Kick the enemy as you near the ground. Use the momentum of the fall to spring backward before the enemy has time to attack.
㊍ The Slice: Balance on a thin branch; make no sound. Drop with claws unsheathed for maximum injury.
㊍ The Branch Swing: Hold on to a branch with front claws as your back paws rake your enemy's face.
㊍ The Reverse Branch Swing: Hold on to a branch with back claws as your front paws rake your enemy's face.
㊍ The Trunk Spring: Balance on a thin branch; make no sound. Slide down the trunk of your tree. Spring off the trunk with your back legs at head height to clear an enemy (good if tree is surrounded).
㊍ The Reverse Climb: Pace backward as the enemy advances. Climb backward up the trunk to escape enemy; often followed by the Trunk Spring. Hunting Techniques㊍ General Rule: Keep upwind from your prey!
㊍ Hunter's Crouch: Keep your body low with your tail sticking out straight ahead. Hind legs must be ready to leap and front paws must be ready to pounce.
㊍ Squirrel Race: Speed is key for catching squirrels. You may start slow, but you must strike quickly. They will scamper up trees. They can be pursued into the branches, but you may end up injured. If the squirrel does end up in a tree, make sure when you try to catch it, you're running up the tree with the squirrel. Try to surpass it and chase it back down.
㊍ Bird Leap: When a bird is aware it's being hunted, it'll fly up. You must leap as high as possible to drag it back down. When a bird is unaware, you must hunt it in short bursts of stalking to get close. Make sure to be ready for a leap to hook your kill, because as soon as you emerge, the bird will fly up.
㊍ Rabbit Fishing: If you can't find rabbits, find the rabbit hole. Make sure there's a rabbit inside. Wait for it to come out. When it does, scoop it out like when fishing. If there are rabbits out in the open, chase the rabbit if you're fast enough. For slower cats, stalk it very slowly and very, very quietly. A misplaced paw will give you away instantly.
㊍ Mouse Stalker: Keep your paws light on the ground. Try to slide them without making a sound. The mouse will feel the vibrations of your feet before it sees or hears you.
㊍ Voles / Shrews: Voles and shrews are alike. Hunt them in a crouching position. Kill them quickly because they're known to squeal when caught.

Palefeather stepped outside of the warriors den, looking up at the cloudy sky above. Despite the branches of the shrubs and trees often providing shade for the clan, she was grateful that the sun was hidden. She stretched out her body before shaking her pelt, giving her shoulder a few licks to smooth out the fur that stuck out from her pelt. The golden she-cat glanced around the camp, trying to decide what would be best to do. Palefeather gave Dappledlight a polite greeting as she walked past the she-cat and towards the fresh-kill pile, wanting to gauge how much prey they would need.

Reden: Sharptooth leaves Mouthstar's den, her ears alert. She was always on the lookout for any battles with Ignisclan, Geoclan and Umbraclan. Like Umbraclan, Xyloclan have had little trouble with Dark Elementals. She was glad that only three leaders became Dark Elementals, unlike Geoclan who had most of their leaders turn dark. She was nervous since the dark energy that came off the Dark Elementals affected those around them, and since Xyloclan is quite close to Geoclan, they can easily become affected too. Sharptooth was getting older, and it is soon time for her to retire from being the deputy of Xyloclan. The energetic deputy is nowhere to be seen now. The grey she-cat was greying even more, and she wanted a relaxing retirement from the strenuous duty of being deputy. She didn't want to die in the position. She feels that she only has another 12 moons left in her. She sighs, before looking up. She spots her daughter with that blinding gold pelt of hers. "Palefeather," she calls out, her eyes lighting up. Maybe a day with her daughter will make her feel better. She definitely wanted her daughter to find someone. She didn't care who they were. She wanted to see her daughter's kits before she died. As long as they weren't Geoclan, she was perfectly happy to let her daughter mate with a cat of a different clan.

(Sorry for the delay)
Palefeather jumped slightly when she heard someone call her voice, though she soon relaxed when she found the source of the call. With her tail held high, the see cat walked over to her mother, a gentle expression on her face. "Good morning, how are you?" She asked politely. Despite Sharptooth being her mother, she always made a point to address her a deputy while others could be watching. She knew her mother made many sacrifices to get to and stay in her position, which she excelled at. Palefeather did not want her behavior to take that away from the gray she-cat. However, the golden tabby's natural posture and expression often allowed others to be able to easily guess their relation. Palefeather had idolized her mother when she was younger and still greatly respected her now as an adult, which was clear to anyone. She glanced around to see if anyone was nearby, then allowed herself to speak less formally. "I wanted to go hunting, do you have time to join me?" She asked, a spark of excitement in her eyes, though she knew that there was chance her request would be rejected.

(Reden It's fine. I wasn't able to post yesterday.)
Sharptooth had always felt sorry for her children. She was a terrible mother. She was barely there for them when they needed her as kits because of the work she had to put in. Seeing how lovely Palefeather was now that she had grown, Sharptooth couldn't help but feel blessed that her child was such a good cat. She was glad that her choices didn't hinder Palefeather. She did feel uncomfortable when she notices just how shiny-eyed Palefeather becomes when she looks at her. She doesn't deserve the respect the young she-cat gives her. It makes her feel guilty that Palefeather wasn't her priority. She can't help but sigh now. Smiling at her kit, she nods. "I have some time, so let's enjoy our hunt." Maybe it was time she started reconnecting with her kits. She was going to retire soon. She was nearing the age of 133 moons. Two moons to go, and she can become an ordinary warrior once more. A senior warrior, but a warrior with much more free time nonetheless. "It is soon time for me to retire," she meows, as she heads out of camp. "I can spend more time with you and the others."

Pearl That's not a problem! I just feel bad when I take too long; also I just want to confirm: Do kits refer to their parents by their name or "mother/father" in your lore?) Palefeather gave her mother a grateful look, glad that she was given the opportunity to spend time with her. Most of her kithood involved her admiring Sharptooth from a distance. Palefeather had always had always been accepting of the fact that her mother could not play a traditional role as a queen; her duties would not allow it. The golden cat would still get jealous at times of course. When Sharptooth had an apprentice, the image of the two of them together would sting Palefeather a little, but it was out of her control. A deputy must treat the whole clan like their kits at times. She listened to her mother's words, her ears pinned back for a moment. "Retiring?" She asked, tilting her head slightly. It was an odd thought, her mother becoming a regular warrior. "That's hard to imagine." She added. She felt that even if Sharptooth were to retire, the clan would always still see her as their deputy. "It will be nice for you though. You have done more for this clan than most. You deserve to relax and enjoy life." She gave her mother a gentle smile, hoping it would ease her, even just a little.

(Reden : That's a good question, and yes. They can call them mother, father, mum, mama, dad, papa, or by their names. It makes it easier to keep track of families. I'll also allow titles like aunt or uncle, grandma, grandpa and so on. For those that are a mated, their other half can be addressed as mate-sister or mate-uncle, that type of thing.)
Sharptooth smiles at her. "Thank you," she purrs. "A deputy can only serve until they're 133 moons. Then a new deputy will take their place, one that's younger. That's how it is. There is usually a first deputy, then a second that's much younger since they're the ones that would most likely be the next leader. Though sometimes there will be one deputy or no deputy for a time if the right one hasn't been found. Despite giving my whole life to the clan, I do have regrets." She looks at her daughter. She's only had two litters, and have had a total of 5 kits altogether. She could've had more, but she and her mate decided to have a smaller number until she retired. In fact, the second litter was a surprise, and out of it, came Palefeather. "I wish I was there for you and your brothers and sisters more..." The older she-cat trails off, still thinking about the past. "Every time I had to pass you all, or say I couldn't join you for an activity or to teach, I felt sad. I wanted to bond with you all so much, but there was still a lot that had to be done. Xyloclan doesn't have a safe camp, so we have to be on our toes quite a bit. I've been talking to Mouthstar to see who should be the next deputy, and we've been deciding on who should take over my duties slowly to train them into being the next deputy. You see, Mouthstar is a precious friend of mine. It's why I agreed to be deputy in the first place. There were no other candidates that were as attentive, so I had to do a lot more work than usual, and it spanned over many moons because the consequences are usually catastrophic. Just as Kinkstar retired, our previous leader before Mouthstar, there was a major fire that raged through Xyloclan territory. It was so bad, that our camp was razed to the ground. For years, there was barely any prey, so when Mouthstar became leader, he wanted someone he knew well to be the next deputy. And so, I became deputy at a much earlier age than what's usually allowed for the first deputy of a leader. You see, a new leader's first deputy needs to be experienced. They need to be able to help the new leader. Unfortunately, most of the senior warriors at the time died, and so I had to step forward." This was the first time Sharptooth was opening up to one of her kits, and so she couldn't stop her mouth from moving. She just wanted to tell Palefeather the reasons behind her actions. "I didn't want my kits to starve, so I dedicated my time and energy into the clan and negotiating with other clans to gain food. I also had to use my abilities to help regrow the plants. That's what I've been doing for so long, but it's also why we still have a lush forest. The regrowth of the trees take forever to do."

( Pearl : Okay perfect!) Palefeather smiled and listened intently as her mother spoke, occasionally nodding her head as she processed the information that was being given to her. She honestly didn't know much about selecting a deputy; even since she was born, her mother held that position. The thought of anyone else, or even no one being deputy was something that had never occurred to her. Though she would never openly admit it to her mother, she was glad she was not eligible to become a deputy. The very thought of being held to such a standard, and having so many responsibilities placed on her made anxiety swell up in her chest. She was happy to just support her friends and family, living an easy, happy life. "It's not your fault." She told Sharptooth when the lack of motherly presence in Palefather's kithood was mentioned. The she-cat shook her head and gave Sharptooth a gentle look. "You had to take care of the whole clan, not just us. I think that you would have regretted it if you lived the simple life as a queen." She told her, looking back to the path in front of them. She continued to listen to her mother's tales, imagining the forest left to nothing, the earth black with soot and death. It was like something from a terrible nightmare. Though she tried hard to hide it, she felt a pang in her chest, though she was not sure what it was, at the mention of how her mother revived the forest to it's current, lush, glorious state. Was it jealousy? Maybe guilt? Palefeather signed quietly. She wished she had the gift of giving and aiding life- healing the wounded, helping the clan thrive by aiding the forest. Such things were impossible for her. Her gift could only bring death and sickness. "I'm sure even the tiniest sprout appreciates what you have done. I can't imagine the forest any different than it is now." She purred, trying to mask her discomfort, she enjoyed the she-cat's stories and did not want her to stop telling them.

Reden:
Sharptooth nods. "Maybe so. It truly is a hard decision, isn't it?" she sighs. "I did just want you to know, that I wasn't as heartless as I seemed..." The older she-cat could tell that her duties took a toll on her whole family, including her mate. It was her mate, after all, that became the one that took care of the kits while she wasn't around.
The she-cat laughs at Palefeather's comment. "The only reason why I helped them grow was to help keep you and your siblings safe. Without the trees, there would've been a lot more predator attacks, especially from the sky. In fact, the area around the camp was the very first part of the forest that I revived." Sharptooth didn't notice Palefeather's discomfort, but she did feel that a story about Palefeather's powers, one with a poison ability would be good. She had stories about all sorts of abilities, but that's only because she was so old. "I have a story about a she-cat with a poison ability."
This took Sharptooth back a long time ago. "It's actually a story about my best friend, your father's sister. She died just before you were born, but she wielded her ability with finess and grace." The grey she-cat couldn't help but sigh as she remembered the good old days when she was still young and spritely. "She was the very first poison cat to learn how to absorb poison. Not just from plants, but from the body of a cat. She could absorb the poison from the blood. We all have some measure of control over our abilities. Mine, for example, can not only restore plants, but it can also control plants. I can manipulate them to do my bidding. Watch this."
She shows Palefeather what she meant. Pausing, she flicks her tail at a tree with low-hanging branches, and it slowly moves. The branches elongate, and move just in front of the two she-cats. Sharptooth moves to stand on the branch. "Come on up," she meows to her daughter.

Pearl : "I know, Mother. We all know." She said gently as she confirmed to Sharptooth that she had never seen her as a heartless mother. Surely her siblings were just as aware of how little time her mother had to spend with them. Despite her words though, Palefeather did have some deep seeded anxieties because of it. Desperate to be noticed and acknowledge by her mother as a kit, only to fade to the background as an apprentice and warrior, simply living her life by following the current caused by others. She was ignorant to it, but the neglect she faced as a kit had formed her into a hollow figure of what she could have been. She simply lived to keep other's content. The docile daughter of Xyloclan's deputy; someone who simply smiled and accepted whatever she was told without question- that was her legacy. Palefeather forced a smile at her mother's story, hiding the discomfort that worsened with each word. She could recall being told of her aunt when her power was discovered, such stories made her bright-eyed as a kit. "Yes, I remember being told of her by father when I was young. I wished that I could have learned from her." She told Sharptooth quietly, glancing at her paws for a moment. She had only used her powers once outside of training, and it was by accident. She briefly recalled the incident- the sounds, the scents. The image of the cat who died from her claws that day flashed in her mind. She shook her head and took a deep breath, now was not the time, she wanted to treasure this moment with her mother, maybe take it was an opportunity to learn and grow. Part of her liked the idea of being able to use her gift to help others, but the doubt in her own abilities caused her to keep her questions regarding it to herself. The golden she-cat released a small laugh when the tree extended down to them. As if to thank it, she gave it a polite nod, stepping up onto it was ease.

Reden:
"To be completely honest, she was a total mess when it came to her powers," Sharptooth meows flatly. "Not many will tell you this, but she had no control over them whatsoever, even though she was a fully fledged warrior. She went berserk at weird times, and you'd never know who she'd injure. It was really hard for her to learn how to control them because poison is a very toxic skill to have. Lose even the slightest control, and you can kill a cat in an instant. But that's what rare skills are all about. If you don't keep a tight lid on it but not use it, it'll burst eventually, much like a dam. If you use it little by little, it'll slowly get better."
Sharptooth moves the tree branch, so that they were floating in the air. She moved it so slowly, so intricately, it didn't feel like they were moving at all. Higher and higher they went, until they were above the treetops. The birds were singing, and the sky was beautifully blue. "I was always a little jealous of her talent. Even though it was something difficult to deal with, it was something powerful too. We've lived in peace for so long, you probably don't know, but there used to be battles with our neighbouring clans. We would always battle with Ignisclan, Geoclan or Umbraclan. It's just the way things were. Our last battle was with Umbraclan. Although it was when I was a kit, I still remember all the bloodshed. Warriors were killed left, right and centre. The Diviners were safe, as were the Queens, Kits and Elders that didn't take part in the war, but everyone else was fair game. It's a sight I never want you to see. After each fight, a lot of cats die, but then new growth always comes. As clans that live next door to each other, we'll have our wars. We'll have our fights, but we do make up later on. Not many understand that, and so they leave to become rogues or loners that go out into the outside world before returning for revenge. It happens. But those that die out there never return to our ancestors. They are forever lost until their descendant comes back to us. If they don't leave any descendents, we never see them again."
Sharptooth pauses, frowning a little. "I must say this, killing is never easy, and it never gets easier too."

Palefeather couldn't contain her surprise at her mother's story regarding her aunt. She had only been told stories that sounded more like legends. How the she-cat was like a leaf dancing in the breeze when she was in the battle field, enemies stunned by her power and grace. There had been no mention of her losing control, slashing at her allies and friends as though she lost her mind. Palefeather felt her brow furrow as she thought. She was lucky that she had never experienced such a thing, even when she had used her gift, it was out of fear, not madness. She was still herself, her actions were as though they were performed by someone else- she could never imagine herself taking the life of another- but the thoughts, feelings and sensations at the moment were hers and hers alone.
She shifted slightly as the tree moved, not from being unsteady, but simply due to her own discomfort as she thought about what her mother was saying. She opened her mouth, wanting to admit to her mother that she had been neglecting to train with her gift- that she never wanted to go on patrol out of fear of having to fight again. However, she stopped herself, thinking of what may happen if she were to admit such things. Would Mother hate me? Or blame herself for what happened? What if I get stripped of my rank? Or if she expects me to just stay in the nursery for my whole life? More and more thoughts rushed through her mind; the golden she-cat found herself unable to focus. However, she snapped bac into reality, focusing once again on what her mother was saying. She pieced the pieces together as best as she could, nodding along. "I agree." She said softly at Sharptooth's final statement, glancing to the blue sky around them. "What do you do?" She asked, not fully finishing her question, she then looked back to the grey she-cat. "Sorry, ah, what do you do when you can't stop thinking about it? The fighting?"

(Reden Sorry about the late reply. Been really busy. Had an exam, work, and got my covid booster, so I was sick for a little bit.)
Sharptooth's eyes glaze a little at the question, as she thought back to all the fighting. "It's hard," she admits. "But it does get a little easier if you talk to someone about it. Not everyone likes fighting. Even I don't. I don't like killing either. It's never an easy thing. Killing. I just do it to survive. To protect. If you have a goal, you strive your hardest to achieve it. Like my goal is to protect you and your siblings. It's difficult. It's tiring. But I feel a sense of accomplishment when I see the final result. I feel a sense of relief when I see that I've done something to protect you and your siblings. Of course, I sometimes wake in the middle of the night, and think, what if they were in the exact same position as me, but I killed them? A family lost their father, mother or sibling that day. They'd be just as sad as I've been. It does wake me up quite a bit. But then I talk to your father, and I feel better after venting my emotions a little. It's why I decided to be with him. He's my peace."
Sharptooth can't help but smile. She loves her mate and kits with all her heart. She doesn't always show it, but she feels safe when she's around them, and she hopes she can be a safe haven for them too. Each talk with her mate helps her feel at peace, even if it's only for a short while.

(No need to apologize! Life happens ) Palefeather held a gentle smile as she looked at the scenery in front of her, listening to what her mother said in silence. She could understand what her mother was saying in regards to her father. They were not always seen together like other couples, her mother's duties often kept her away from such pleasantries, but when they were, there was gentle warmth and happiness. It made the air around them seem light and clean, it often reminded her of the air around fresh pines. She glanced to Sharptooth and nodded, "yes, I understand." She said in a quiet voice, admiring her mother's willingness to be so open. Many cats would consider love and romance to be a weakness, but her mother seemed to use it as her drive and strength. "Maybe some day I will find someone like that." She eventually said, looking out to the world again, "not now of course, I would like to figure somethings out for myself; but one day..." She trailed off, was that what she truly wanted? She wasn't completely sure. She knew she would never want to be a healer or leader. She took a deep breath, reminding herself that she was still young, surely what ever was meant to be will reveal itself to her one day. She looked back to Sharptooth again and smiled, glad she was getting this chance to talk with her.

Reden:
Sharptooth nods. "Don't make the decision right away. I never thought I'd have a mate and kits. It was something I was pretty sure about, especially since I was a little rougher and had more grit than the other she-cats. I always felt like I had a purpose I needed to fulfil, but then your father came along and filled the void I didn't even know existed inside of me. Before that, I had a purpose, but didn't have a reason for that purpose. After meeting your father, I found my reason. And so, all I can say is this. You're young. You don't need to make any major decisions right now. It's alright to take your time. Although I found my path quite quickly, it took me longer to find the reason behind that path. If you have something you want to do, go pursue it. Just remember, I'll be backing you up. If you make a mistake, you can come crying to me, and I will be waiting here to listen. If you come back victorious, I'll still be here, waiting to listen to your story. If you find a mate, go for it. If you have kits, but no mate, I'll help you. Just remember that no matter what situation you find yourself in, you always have a home with your father and I."

"Of course!" Palefeather said quickly, nodding her head as she spoke with a gentle, yet urgent tone; her voice pitched up and cracking slightly. She hadn't meant to make herself sound like a kit, but next to her mother, whom seemed so mature and refined, she felt as though she had. She didn't want Sharptooth to think she was unaware of the support she had, or that wanted to take her for granted. She looked to her paws, shifting them slightly as she kneaded the branch, her claws sheathed as to not hurt the tree that had been so kind to allow them to rest upon it's branches. "I mean, I know that I will have opportunities, and that you and father have allowed it so that I can seize them. I will try to always make good decisions, even if maybe it seems like the harder route. I know though, that you will be there to support me if I make the wrong choice." She told her mother, hoping she had worded everything in a respectful manner. "I know I can always come to you." She added, though she knew this to only be partly true, she wished to not burden anyone, especially someone she loved and admired.

Reden:
Sharptooth shakes her head. "I'm not talking about making good decisions. I'm talking about doing what's right for you, Palefeather. I dedicated my life to the clan so that you and your siblings would have a safe haven to grow up in. I'm not expecting any of you to do the same thing. If what's right for you is joining a different clan, or leaving the clans altogether, I'll support it. If it means fighting against the clan, I'll help you too. All that matters is does it feel right to you? Are you following your heart? All I've ever cared about are you, your siblings, and your father. Yes, I love my clan a lot, but I love all of you even more than my clan. To me, all of you come first, not the clan. That meant securing your safety so that you could grow up in peace. And you've grown into someone I can be proud of."

(sorry for the delay!)
Palefeather looked at her mother for a moment, her eyes a bit wide in in shock. She always imagined her mother as being the perfect warrior loyal to her clan above all else, but here she was, admitting her willingness to leave it. The pale she-cat shook her head, "no, of course not! I would never betray the clan. I belong here with everyone, and so do you!" She mewed quickly, taking herself aback by her tone. She gave Sharptooth a guilty look, glancing down to her paws before looking back up, "Mother- I'm sorry. I was beside myself to speak to you like that." She said quietly, shifting on her paws before continuing to speak, "I love our clan, I don't want you to ever feel like I would run away from it. You and my siblings are here, why would I be even tempted to leave? I know you are just saying this hypothetically, but I can't image life without you or the clan. This is where I belong, I know that. I will follow my heart, but I know it will never make me stray away from what I hold dear."
