The winner of this poll is Forest Territories vs Lake Territories, so that's our debate for this year. Which do you prefer?

The Lake Territories. They're the original place where the Tribe came from, and half the Tribe became the Clans, so the lake is their original home and I really like that idea. I think that the territories are a lot easier to remember and the only thing that made the Forest Territories better was the Moonstone and Fourtrees.

Forest Territories. I liked the Moonstone and Fourtrees, as well as the old tradition where apprentices traveled to the Moonstone before they became warriors, which was renounced when they came to the lake.
I also like the forest territories because they felt closer to the other Clans. These days, ThunderClan has to trek all the way around the lake to interact with RiverClan. While the lake is pretty, I prefer the mutual ground of Fourtrees in the heart of Clan territory, rather than the Gathering island of the lake territory.

Lake territories because we have..
- Secret tunnels - SkyClan - A Lake - A better barn with horses, sheep, and cows - Mountains in the background - The Moonpool - Pine Forest - The Island - Better moorland with lakeside view - Berrynose

I like the lake territories better because they are more interesting, although I miss RiverClan's old territory.

The Forest Territories.
This could just be my nostalgia talking but I really preferred it when the Clans seemed closer to each other in terms of land proximity and the nearby Twoleg place ensuring some fun additional characters to be introduced almost regularly. You know, our first ever protagonist Firestar, for example.

Forest Territories. Fourtrees and the Moonstone are Warrior Icon's. and Apprentice's being required to travel to the moonstone before taking their assignment to become warriors is a spiritually profound piece of culture that I wish was further explored and kept as part of their tradition. plus, all the other unique landmarks like carrionplace, snakerocks, sunningrocks and other points of interest that added more dynamic and depth and intrigue to each clan's territory and lifestyle This^

I prefer the forest territories, because you have a border to every clan In the new Territories River Clan has become really boring. Now you get a lot of shadow clan and nearly no River Clan, because they live on the other side of the lake.

I prefer the lake territories. I love the connection with them and the Clans' origins, not to mention it has more interesting stuff with it too.

I have a much easier time picturing the lake territories and their borders as opposed to the forest territories. But the forest territories actually had interesting parts that made it more memorable - Snakerocks, Sunningrocks, Fourtrees, the Moonstone, Outlook Rock, the Twolegplace, the Carrionplace, that farm that borders RiverClan territory. There's so much more there that makes it feel more real. Did I have a hard time imagining where all these unique places were? Yes. But at least it wasn't boring, and the Clans were closer together, leading to more conflict which made it more interesting in general.

I like the old forest more. I never liked the lake. Maybe I will change my mind on this as I continued to reread but from what I remember that’s my opinion.

I personally prefer the lake territories because I find it more aesthetically pleasing, despite liking the books that take place in the forest territories better. I like the idea of the Moonpool better than the Moonstone. Though I like Fourtrees better than the Island.

Forest, everything felt more alive and mystical in the forest. It also seems like when they moved to the lake, they lost the qualities that made them unique, like has ShadowClan even stunk or snuck around since?

I'd go with forest. It nice and has a lot of trees. The forest had way more landmarks.

I’m going with the forest territories, I find it easier to picture when I’m reading about it than the lake, and I love all the old landmarks. though I can’t deny the moonpool is pretty cool too, this was a hard choice.

Forest, there was way more potential for clans interacting. I don't mind the lake, but it 100% pushed RiverClan into obscurity.

I strongly prefer the forest territory to the lake. Like others have said, the forest had a lot more special locations such as the carrionplace, sunningrocks, the owl tree, and others. It felt like there was so much lore to it that made the forest feel lived in. But the main reason I prefer the forest is because of how close the clans were to each other. Even though there wasn't a giant lake in the middle of it, the forest territory felt smaller and it allowed to a ton of conflict between the clans. Since basically every clan was connected, it made it easy to have all four of them as rivals, instead of only focusing on two and completely forgetting that the other two exist. There was almost this really tense political climate between all four clans where in one book two clans could be allied with each other, and in the next their allegiances would be completely flipped. It made the story dynamic and unpredictable, and allowed for a lot of inter-clan conflict. It seems the narrative is trending away from this, and it is looking like the clans will be treated as one big clan almost, which makes me sad because I feel like there are a lot of interesting stories to be told through pitting the clans against each other. Yet we really haven't seen this much outside of the first arc and DOTC.

Definitely the forest territories. I'm forever bitter that we didn't have more time there with the series arcs. I've said it before, but I think the whole "forest destruction" plot of TNP should have come later in the series. I would've loved to see several generations of ThunderClan in the forest -- there's no reason that everything that happened at the Lake couldn't happen there, too.
Plus, the Lake Territories feel a little more, idk, contrived? Like the Forest Territories felt like it could be a real place on a map somewhere. The landscape diversity and geography made sense. But when the clans first came to the lake, it immediately felt too...perfect. Four perfect quadrants of geography exactly suited to each clan, what a wonderful coincidence. It just feels less real. And because the lake is so big, it makes the individual territories feel smaller.
